@swallowcommand A mechanical wave (sound) needs a medium to travel through. Elecromagnetic waves do not because it's propagated through the pairing of two separate waves (one electric one magnetic) that oscillate at a 90 degree angle with respect to each other. To understand how this is possible requires knowledge of wave-particles. The wave itself propagates perpendicular to it's oscillation making it a two-dimensional transverse wave. Much like what you'd see when whipping a length of string.

Einstein himself acknowledged that information travels faster than light and went on to describe it as the "spooky effect", something he was unable to explain. We just go on to say it's the speed limit because of the way Einstein's equation seem to act. You would need knowledge of Galilean geometry to understand them.
I must strongly contest your assertion that the speed of light was never a concrete concept. It is one of the most concrete concepts in physics! The speed of light is the same in all frames of reference. This is well characterized theoretically and has been verified experimentally hundreds of times over. The "limit break" swallowcommand refers to is the supposed superluminal neutrinos from the OPERA experiment at CERN. I strongly suggest you read about the science being done.
@attheveryend My understanding was that information such as what occurs during quantum entanglement is evidence that "stuff" moves faster than the speed of light. Einstein's theory states that the energy needed for a particle to approach the speed of light, approaches infinity which is why it's generally understood that things cannot go faster than light but doesn't exclusively state that it's impossible for things to exist above the limit.
Information can not be sent through particle entanglement. While it is true that, in certain special cases, particles can be separated in such a way that the quantum state of one depends on the other, the observed changes appear random. The supposed "spooky action at a distance" is quite real, but it is apparently also quite random.
Radiation is the only form of heat that traverses the void. EMR is a self-propogating phenomenon. It is neatly explained using maxwell's equations. In addition, all light originates from the motion of charged particles somewhere in the universe, so even there the energy is not free.

I only know it has something to do with virtual particles and the uncertainty principle. Basically the void is made up of particles that are constantly "popping in and out of existence". This gives the void a sort of geometry IE space isn't "flat" so to speak. This isn't the reason why waves travel through space though.
This energy is not accessible. In order for the vacuum to be filled with virtual particles, photons, and pair production-annihilation, they have to exist for so short a time as to be meaningless. In addition, in order to fully appreciate general relativity (gravity by curved space), or quantum mechanics, you need some pretty evil math. The concepts really can't be communicated any other way because they don't make sense in any diluted form. Wind- we use this (wind turbines etc.), Sun- we use this (solar panels) , water- (current) partially use it. And there may be a few others ive forgotten but one we really dont use enough, is magnets. Meaning that if it has the sort of output Searl claims it has, it would need to be kept heated in order to run for any significant period of time? Besides, isn't it also a physical law that entropy increases, not decreases? The Alcubierre drive doesn't circumvent lightspeed - the contraction of spacetime allows anything inside the bubble to move relatively faster than a light beam outside it, but inside the bubble light would still be the fastest thing around. In any case, the physics of that dictate that any warped bubble can only be created in a region of space that's got one in already.

@swallowcommand The problem is that heat energy has high entropy and electricity has a low one, so you cannot convert it that way. The only generators that do work make use of one cold and one hot area, leveraging the flow of heat that equalizes them.

@ZdenekJindra yes. this is the second law of thermodynamics. and in this machine case, the friction and the magnetic resistance ( from the electric current you will generate in the wire around the magnets) will stop the machine. if you dont use a low entrophy source, this machine will not work. and to do that, you will need to apply more energy than you will create ( like a diesel generator, you wil burn way more energy than the output).
Actually, he's correct. what you are suggesting would violate the laws of physics. Heat cannot be implicitly converted to kinetic energy by dwarfing from ambient heat, it needs to be a differential that would feed the machine. What bugs me about videos like this and the people who make them is that they use magnets as this mystical thing that somehow, allows you to get past the conversion factor, just because we haven't figured them out completely. @swallowcommand A mechanical wave (sound) needs a medium to travel through. Elecromagnetic waves do not because it's propagated through the pairing of two separate waves (one electric one magnetic) that oscillate at a 90 degree angle with respect to each other. To understand how this is possible requires knowledge of wave-particles. The wave itself propagates perpendicular to it's oscillation making it a two-dimensional transverse wave. Much like what you'd see when whipping a length of string.

Einstein himself acknowledged that information travels faster than light and went on to describe it as the "spooky effect", something he was unable to explain. We just go on to say it's the speed limit because of the way Einstein's equation seem to act. You would need knowledge of Galilean geometry to understand them.

I must strongly contest your assertion that the speed of light was never a concrete concept. It is one of the most concrete concepts in physics! The speed of light is the same in all frames of reference. This is well characterized theoretically and has been verified experimentally hundreds of times over. The "limit break" swallowcommand refers to is the supposed superluminal neutrinos from the OPERA experiment at CERN. I strongly suggest you read about the science being done.

@attheveryend My understanding was that information such as what occurs during quantum entanglement is evidence that "stuff" moves faster than the speed of light. Einstein's theory states that the energy needed for a particle to approach the speed of light, approaches infinity which is why it's generally understood that things cannot go faster than light but doesn't exclusively state that it's impossible for things to exist above the limit.

Radiation is the only form of heat that traverses the void. EMR is a self-propogating phenomenon. It is neatly explained using maxwell's equations. In addition, all light originates from the motion of charged particles somewhere in the universe, so even there the energy is not free.

I only know it has something to do with virtual particles and the uncertainty principle. Basically the void is made up of particles that are constantly "popping in and out of existence". This gives the void a sort of geometry IE space isn't "flat" so to speak. This isn't the reason why waves travel through space though.

Professor or not, he is a GENIUS. Noble Peace Prize is not enough to give Mr. Searl. He has single handily given the world what it requires most, not an energy device, rather freedom from big oil. We have duplicated the SEG, via the excellent work of SEG engineer Fernando Morris at Searl Magnetics, Inc. in California. We demoed working SEGs and a magnetic motor at TeslaTech 2010 last summer in Albuquerque. The SEG has NEVER "been proven over and over agin to be bogus" as you put it.

I don't know about oil company conspiracies, but anyone who thinks that energy can be created from nothing has a lot of physics to learn. The implications of such a claim extend beyond "free energy". It undermines centuries of work in mechanics that have not only been widely used accurately to allow us to manufacture everything from vehicles to robots, but have been widely verified by what has then been observed. If the SEG is so simple, why are there no videos of actual models running?

Notice how Searl states that when running the area surrounding the core cools and cools the more output is generated. What does that say? No violation of the laws of conservation of energy here. Meaning that if it has the sort of output Searl claims it has, it would need to be kept heated in order to run for any significant period of time? Besides, isn't it also a physical law that entropy increases, not decreases? I struggle to see exactly where the energy is coming from; the random energy may well be bountiful, but it is also extremely dilute, and so hard to harness.

The speed of gravitation and magnetic force is millions of times that of light. The Alcubierre Warp Bubble calculations are accepted by physics as a loophole around the Einsteinian lightspeed barrier. TT Brown has an electrogravitic transceiver patent. Tesla sent signals thru the Earth and air at 17 times lightspeed.

The Alcubierre drive doesn't circumvent lightspeed - the contraction of spacetime allows anything inside the bubble to move relatively faster than a light beam outside it, but inside the bubble light would still be the fastest thing around. In any case, the physics of that dictate that any warped bubble can only be created in a region of space that's got one in already.

@swallowcommand The problem is that heat energy has high entropy and electricity has a low one, so you cannot convert it that way. The only generators that do work make use of one cold and one hot area, leveraging the flow of heat that equalizes them.
Stop wasting your energy on scams and study instead.

@ZdenekJindra yes. this is the second law of thermodynamics. and in this machine case, the friction and the magnetic resistance ( from the electric current you will generate in the wire around the magnets) will stop the machine. if you dont use a low entrophy source, this machine will not work. and to do that, you will need to apply more energy than you will create ( like a diesel generator, you wil burn way more energy than the output).

Actually, he's correct. what you are suggesting would violate the laws of physics. Heat cannot be implicitly converted to kinetic energy by dwarfing from ambient heat, it needs to be a differential that would feed the machine. What bugs me about videos like this and the people who make them is that they use magnets as this mystical thing that somehow, allows you to get past the conversion factor, just because we haven't figured them out completely. Stop propagating this lie.

ZPE isn't the lowest energy level, it just means when you remove all heat and matter, there still exists another form of energy much more abundant and much more powerful that doesn't exist in the same form as electricity and heat. That's the kind of energy that free energy generators convert into useable energy.

In a magnetic field when an object is in motion influencing the field or influenced by the field then work is done(energy spent) but once the work is done, it comes to a state of equilibrium.... in this state there is no energy required...!!!
