I feel that diversity is very important artistically speaking, there is sooooo much golden hip-hop/rnb/pop that has come out in the past decade. While I agree that mainstream rap is absolutely awful, I do not agree that RAP is awful. Rap as well as every other ridiculous genre I've ever heard of carry great potential. It's about the artists. Go Beatles!!

The Beatles were a once-in-a-lifetime group of musicians that just got it right. If you can't find a song that they did that appeals to you, you need to spend your time doing something else .... music is not your thing. No one will ever accomplish, with such total public appeal, what the Beatles did while they were together.
There's still good music today -- not at the top of the charts, but it's still out there if you can find it -- but there is NOTHING as good as The Beatles. They hit the peak of possibilities in popular music, just as Mozart/Bach/Beethoven did the same with classical. People still make great classical music, but the peak has already been set.
You know when i first got to my school everyone was into hannah montanna and other crud until i showed one of my friends the beatles and now my whole so is beatlemania!!! makes me feel good about myself :P

@sgold1 - Just remember that people, especially young people, are still vulnerable and hopeful, still capable of falling very much in love. Not sure it's gone forever actually. What we need is more music that strikes to the heart of people as this did and more musicians who are allowed to 'be' that sort of creative. Get the money men out of jobs where they control what artists produce. That should help.
Ever notice how pure and angelic the Beatles were? In singing, harmonizing, and writing. You take the Rolling Stones and their so gutteral and stomping hard rock-n-roll which is great. Don't get me wrong. But the Beatles were more uplifting, fun, understandable, and really cerebral. They made a huge impact on me oh so many years ago and when I think of those times I smile from ear to ear. What a glorious time to be an adolecent 4th grader. Long live The Beatles, as they will in the music.

@sgold1 - Just remember that people, especially young people, are still vulnerable and hopeful, still capable of falling very much in love. Not sure it's gone forever actually. What we need is more music that strikes to the heart of people as this did and more musicians who are allowed to 'be' that sort of creative. Get the money men out of jobs where they control what artists produce. That should help.

Ever notice how pure and angelic the Beatles were? In singing, harmonizing, and writing. You take the Rolling Stones and their so gutteral and stomping hard rock-n-roll which is great. Don't get me wrong. But the Beatles were more uplifting, fun, understandable, and really cerebral. They made a huge impact on me oh so many years ago and when I think of those times I smile from ear to ear. What a glorious time to be an adolecent 4th grader. Long live The Beatles, as they will in the music.
