am so glad I live in Holland... no weird stares when you have your own style, well, not in most big cities (mine included, which is not even that big). I have seen extreme punk, goth, traditional African and Muslim garments, even people that look like they are practicing witches (at least that's what my imagination tells me). You would have easily been able to rock those shoes here, and most likely have a ton of women ask you where you bought them.
