it is "bismark" actually and as the hood was the pride of the navy it was a big morale booster to sink it, and it also diverted a large amount of the navy resources to destroy it, not a waste if you ask me.

Just seems like the five years and an unspecified pile of German marks that it took to build were squandered for one incomplete mission. If you are thinking i am a german then you are wrong, i am british and i believe that if you respect your enemy then you have more chance of beating them in any theatre of battle, the bismarck was not a waste of resources, the bismarck's sister ship, the tirpitz deterred many british ships from venturing even within 150 miles of where it was in port in norway, it diverted lots of british resources to sink it, if the royal navy kept a large home fleet in resever in case of attack

See now the Tirpitz is another story altogether she was much more effective at tieing up a large portion of British forces by staying in port. I just think that sending the Bizmarck out on a suicide run was one of Hitlers many tactical errors (And I'm glad he made so many, otherwise...)
