all those credits and nothing has beat "the rose". let's face it, her heart hasn't been in it since the early years. go to "bette on the boards" to see what created the sensation.
I love Hocus Pocus! I watched it as a small child when it came out and I watch it to this day still! I agree that it is one of her finest hours, she was wonderful in it. I really wish they would release a special dvd of it with the extra scenes and stuff that was cut from the final film.
Hocus Pocus was definitely one of her finest hours. i remember when i was a kid i saw it and then another film with Bette and when my mom pointed out it was the same actress i was so shocked, she can do such different and strange characters
Interesting that he didn't bring up Outrageous Fortune. Maybe Bette refused to discuss Shelley Long, I know she has said working with Long was difficult but she never elaborates. That movie is far superior to Big Business and deserved some discussion.
ooops sorry Bette! My previous comment has nothing to do with The Rose. Just watch any Janis Joplin interviews. (rare). The humor, wit and charisma are similar! LOVE IT!
The guy James Lipton who ( tried ) to interview Bette... my GOD what a wooden interviewer!!! question answer, question answer... a 10 year old could have done better,, poor Bette having to be her wonderful self sat answering that miserable bloke... my GOD... I would have interviewed her FAR better:)))

My God, what an act... Just over the top... Tiresome from minute 1 to the last... Over-acted and seemingly so fucking FAKE...

The last few minutes of it are missing. This makes me sad. Still, one of the best interviews of all time.
