  • lol, Why is the mic just sitting on Jim's knee?

  • thanks rick Jewbin for screwing one of my favorite bands grew up listening to !! Linkin park is so lame now

  • @llHyRaXll yeah, NOW they're lame. Dickhead

  • @llHyRaXll AMEN who in da fuck made DA decision that after meteora the next album will have no balls if anything the whole cd (minutes to bullshit)sounds like every1 in da band got neutered n then on top of that they were shot up wit estrogen then were all locked up in a studio they weren't let out until all the songs were wrote n recorded while this whole time they were imprisoned da air in da studio being recirculated was actually estrogen in gas form cuz that whole cd was LAME AND GAY AS FUCK

  • well tbh, corey is really stubborn when it comes to his music, not really in a bad way though ...

  • I didn't like the Recording from Volume 3 so much. It took them 3 months to do anything in the studio, corey almost killed himself and the songs were a bit too 'speedy' for me. That being said, I like listening to Blister Exists, Three Nil, Duality, Vermillion, Pulse of the maggots live. Those are all brilliant songs, Pulse of the maggots is one on their best.

But Opium of the people and Welcome aren't the best songs, in my opinion.

  • emo faggots

  • Why does it say Slipknot didn't love Rick Rubin, when Corey is the only one who didn't like working with him? Title should fucking be Corey Taylor loved record, not Rick Rubin. It's like the members don't have a fucking say in shit.

  • Comment removed

  • I honestly never see their 3rd album in stores. It sucks so bad and kind of ironic since Before I Forget is in that album and they won a Grammy for that song.

  • thats not from vol 3 thats from slipknot - slipknot

  • Rick Rubin is notorious for rubbing artist the wrong way but in the end the album is better because of it. Its like the coach that ran you till you puked at practice but it made the game easier cuz you were in top shape.

  • @assonine666 fuck off there not posers ur a poser for saying that fag acting like u know shit

  • @assonine666 you obviously don't know what the hell metal is, anyway if you don't like them then don't watch their videos you damn moron!!!

  • @assonine666 go back and play some more WoW instead of acting like you know music, fucking geek.

  • @crazyhiho slipknot suck dick yo

  • @Larryandbob and larry also sucks bobs dick, so it looks like your pretty fucking gay as well.

  • Slipknot, you got OOOLD! Used to be hard, but now just whiny.

  • @dentennisser you're a lazy fat fuck!

  • almost everything Rick Rubin [doesn't] Touches turns to gold or at least goes gold or platinum on sales. Yet, it remains a mystery exactly what he does. Even though he is never there he has a track record that's hard to criticise. Maybe he gets the most out of the musicians by making them do it themselves without a lot of outside influence.

  • @stoltobot He definitely used to work a lot closer with bands but he started getting more and more contracts, and learned to produce from the background by hiring people to fill in for him with similar ideas, so that he could have the final say on how things go.

  • YAA SOMEONES JELOUS OF RICKS MOJO.... KNOW UR PLACE MASKER!!!

  • rick rubin cast his magik on the master recording. that's what he does.

  • i had no idea what james looked like corry was the only one i really ever new how he looked only throght stone sour

but then again i didnt want to know that was part of the fun of the band for me was the mask and not knowing who was behind em

  • sugar

  • lmao why does corey wink and blow a kiss at 1:23?

  • @michaelz6366 its a way to show sarcasim

probly refering to the producer like hey im talking to you pay attention

  • The dude on the left looks like smeagle (from Lotr) with long hair!

  • @Powapulls WTF?you do not know how James Root looks like?if you don't know what the fuck this video is about just stay the fuck away from your PC.

  • @Beethrezem now now......keep calm, he's not a true maggot.......becuz if he was then he would know who James Root is.......

  • search for Immortal Live @ Graspop 2008 HQ pt1

  • Immortal!

  • that rick rubin is just a lazy, fat fuck who for some strange reason has a reputation of being a great producer....Crap, Metallica keeps making fun out of that ugly, bearded bastard !!

  • i KEEP HEARING THAT ABOUT rICK RUBIN. i KEEP HEARING THAT HE'S NOT AROUND.

  • "I got 99 bands but slipknot ain't one"

  • severus snape is in slipknot!

  • It was an awesome record

  • last i checked, this was a vid about SLIPKNOT...

  • I love Linkin Park, first band I ever really listened too, I didn't like M2M much but I liked it enough, now I'm pretty sure I'm gonna hate A thousand suns because I just cant stand New Divide, and The Catalyst and that one song they did for Haiti.. Slipknot, Big Fan, Been into them since Iowa, I've never heard a bad song from them, even if All Hope Is Gone was not the best, It still blew my socks off. SO Slipknot is better than LP in my eyes. It doesn't matter about sales or Grammies. Stay(sic)

  • Slipknot just shits creativity. They haven't made a bad album yet.

  • Yeah Vol 3 was the light record, that everyone has but some of the songs on it are heavy and the lyrics are still as angry and depressed. After all it was the album that made me maggot. Then Corey said AHIG was a mix between Iowa and Vol. 3, and I can see that. They said the next record was and might still sound alot more like Iowa. I don't have a favorite record, I think they are all amazing and that goes for the demos and Basement Sessions too.

    STAY (sic) MAGGOTS!

    SUCK (dic) FAGGOTS!

  • their best album is self-titled, its just so raw & in your face, they were hungry back then

  • @mikemunyon1 I agree with you the Iowa was another slap in the face... the sublominal... with vermillion pt2 showed a mature sound very nice record... and the last is really heavy with amazing solos

  • subliminal verses is definitly their worst album to date, half ass song writing and bad recording sound

  • Awww...... did the little masked men get bossed around a little bit? Pissed cuz he made them set the wine coolers down and get to work... pussies...

  • Huh 1st grammy, but Rubin wasn't part of it. Hummmmmmm?

  • inside Michelle, I wait and bleed haha

  • everyone talks shit bout rick rubin, but i have yet to hear a cd he produced that i didnt like.

  • pshh volume 3 is aight, they will NEVER top their first selftitled, that thing was a fucking masterpiece front to back

  • @Mayhem3033 @ikuzakesuf Volume 3 is the golden egg of Slipknot catalog. Debut albums or EPs are always the introduction to the band. Some bands progress and mature as the albums continue, and others, well(i.e American Hi-Fi, Crazy Town, Hinder) do opposite. Slipknot is still progressing, but for me, Volume 3 is my favorite Slipknot album-and possibly favorite album- of all time. A fucking masterpiece front to back. To continue this rant, and truthful, I listen to it nearly everyday. much love.

  • Rick Rubin fucks up everything he touches. Vol 3 was nothing like their previous albums, it was softer but I did like the album, however he has changed so many arts, Take Linkin Park for Example, a good Nu Metal band that when Emo because of that faggot. And He did the Same with Metallica.

  • @yoda2287 ARE YOU FUCKING RETARDED? He did the same to Metallica? Death Magnetic was the only decent record MEtallica put out in 20 years, and it was produced by Rubin. Your thinking of Bob Rock moron... And nobody made Linkin Park suck except for Linkin Park. Winy bitch...

  • @brybry19871987 I thought Rick Rubin Did St Anger

  • @yoda2287 Nah Bob Rock did The Black Album-St. Anger. Thats why a lot of people blame him for making Metallica "Bluesy metal" in the 90's and St. Anger FUCKING SUCKED THE PENIS OF A CRUSTY LEPRECHAN. Rubin produced Death Magnetic even though he didn't have much to do with it after the foundation was laid down...

  • @brybry19871987 Whoever produced the first Linkin Park album told them to create a Linkin Park sound... Rick Rubin told Linkin Park to create a Mike Shinoda/Chester Bennington/Rob Bourdon/Joe Hahn/Brad Delsen/Phoenix sound...

  • @brybry19871987 Linkin Park is selling more than Slipknot and you say they suck? sure, that's your opinion. Too bad the world disagrees. They've actually grown up.

  • @chucknorris136 Justin Bieber sells more than Linkin Park does that mean he is better? Shut the fuck up

  • @brybry19871987 No, that means that 10 year old girls like him more. Linkin Park and Slipknot fans belong to the same age group. Linkin Park might even have more older fans because they don't sing about killing someones mother in every song. Even my father likes them. I didn't say Slipknot sucks, people just like Linkin Park more.

  • @brybry19871987 Btw i just checked, Justin Biever hasn't sold more records than Linkin Park. Linkin Park has sold over 50 million :D more than black sabbath.

  • @chucknorris136 SELLS not SOLD. And give it about 6 months and that little fruit will be sellin more than LP easily. And how are you gonna hate on Slipknots lyrics? What the fuck has Linkin Park ever said in a song except pointless bullshit? Same thing with fuckin Godsmack, their lyrics don't fucking go anywhere... And at least Slipknot don't rap and not even do it well...

  • Love. absoloutely love how he mentions he's gunna do linkin park at the end. now there mainstream. my favourite band. id kill rick rubin.

  • lol on stage they are crazy dancing

    lol

but in an interview they are calm as angels XD

  • Rick Rubin is a studio owner, not a producer. It is a typo on several albums. ACDC said he was phony, Slayer said he didn't really produce them, Corey says this, the Metallica album sounds crappy, why do people still use him?

Also, Vol 3 was the best Stone Sour album, but it was a horrible Slipknot album. No ferocity, no goosebump moments or energy, just lame. It was the newest Stone Sour album with new masks. I bet it wasn't Mick's favorite album. I guarantee that!!!

  • Who do you trust? Corey who constantly contradicts himself or Rick Rubin, one of the most accomplished music producers of the last 20 years?

  • @tokyomd Corey BeCause he is hte musicion not Rick Rubin

  • @tokyomd my ears I trust

  • rick rubin is the stanley kubrik of music producers, hes hard to work with, his ideas are a little bit off the beaten track, but at the end of the day he makes a kickass sound out of it

  • @Acidpunk101 Yeah he is a complete nutter, but genius' always are.

  • rick rubin is not very impressive in krush groove but acts differently now all holy and all.

  • their favourite record, come on man... Iowa is the shit

  • yea wat the fuck he said

  • ungrateful metalheads

  • Rap is for people that cant play an instrument or sing........Talking over someone elses track is not really that creative. In England its considered quite rude to talk over someone

  • @vainparasite early rap was pretty good ... ganster rap is ... well ... crab

  • @vainparasite wow, its impressive to see someone that ignorant

  • Thanks. I always do my best to be as honest as i possibly can without causing offence ;0)

  • Mike Shinoda is the man! :)

  • Is it me or does jim look like alan rickman? (Snape from the harry potter movies oh oh oh and the bad guy in die hard)

  • Comment removed

  • @cartifilus... the fact that you think kanye west has talent makes you an idiot already. i don't know where you get your information from, but you might want to find a better source... and your mom likes the all black clothes. @StuNice.... think before you speak. Their comments made sense.

  • OMFG DID U JUST SAY KANYE WEST REAL RAPPERS dude u need to get this rap shit out of here dude and wtf is with go obama what does that have to do with anything dude seriously slipknot is no emo band they reach out to all groups (btw i have a gf and shes hotter than any ghetto peice of shit you could find hanging at the corner) u fucking poser

  • I don't think you can consider yourself a slipknot fan if you hate one of their albums... That just doesn't make any sense in my opinion...

  • i agree death magnetic reminded me of kill em all but DM could've been heavier

  • Wanna hear a funny joke metallica made?

    St. Anger xD

  • even though Metallica is my favorite band i find this hilarious XD

  • The people who hate it, probably hate cause its a more mature, more vunerable side of Slipknot. Slipknot really grew with that album and I love it. I love old slipknot but I welcome the maturity and change. Rick Rubin has done some amazing things in not only metal but rap and hip hop. People may not like the way he works because he takes people out of thier comfort zone and tells them to try different things, get them thinking in new directions.

  • Ross is great , but when your at that level your looking for platnum ablums for your money in a producer. Ross has some but Ruben has many more and is the hot producer right now as well. you cant argue with slayer, beastie's , RHCP, metallica , slipknot , the list goes on and on for Rick

  • ruined death magnetic? hello??? the best album metallicas's done in about what 15 years? since the black album at least. No one likes working with Rick but he pushes you , and great albums come from it .

  • i agree:) death magnetic owned

  • Bullcrap. Maggots hate Vol 3. I'm not gonna talk about Death Magnet, because I hate Metallica, but... look below me.

Ross Robinson is the best producer. This guy sucks balls. Ross was the one in charge of KoRn's "Life is Peachy," Slipknot's Self Titled and "Iowa."

  • Speak for yourself, i liked Vol 3

  • Most people I've encountered hate it. I like it, too :).

Although I think it isn't as good as the first two.

  • Ross Robinson was also in charge of KoRn's self titled!

  • isn't it the band that makes those songs that you like or not?

  • Yes, but the producers still matter alot in putting the album together and recording and arranging shit.

  • Let me say this,VELVET REVOLVER actually fired Rick Rubin. And look where VR is now.

  • he did not ruin death magnetic. that album kicked ass

  • rick rubin ruins ablums, he ruined metallica's

"Death magnetic" and he ruined Vol.3

  • dude both of those kick ass

  • SLIPKNOT MOTHER FUCKER !!!

  • this sentence from coreys grandma contradictory everything what Coreys music is about ôO

  • @Bungsbergmassiv Mybe the sentence was [...] then don't say anything at all, just scream it

  • It is that way with all of Rick's productions. I don't know how he does it. I mean I understand the approach, letting the band find their direction without over seeing everything, but I couldn't work that way. Often times, the engineer ends up being the real producer.

It was the same with Metallica. Rick wasn't there much, unlike Bob rock who was there to get everything from drum sounds to vocals, and guitar solos.

  • R Rubin is awesome. So many bands best works came under Rubin's oversight. Don't believe it? Look up his production credits. He single-handedly brought Metallica back to respectability. Something I for one didn't think could be done. RHCP, Trouble, Slayer, SOAD, J Cash, etc. etc.

  • I think Metallica coming back was more other factors. I think any band with the same producer for a while could get a a boring sound after a while.

  • What the fuck Shawn? A failed front flip? O-O Crazy motherfucker.

    Stay SIC \m/

  • lmao @ 1:23 corey cracks my shit up

  • The dude is naturally blonde. He isn't gonna dye his hair jet black like some pussy.

  • not to sound like an anti-maggot.. but what song was playing at 0:27 ?

  • wait and bleed

  • Wait and Bleed

  • wait and bleed

  • are you deaf? its wait and bleed...!!!

  • ok...they're talking about the volume 3 record...and they're playing old slipknot footage? lol

  • haha whatever corey taylor says, rick rubin made slipknots best album by far! maybe even their only album thats very good

  • jim looks like andy serkis

  • corey likes to jump in when the other members are talkin haha

  • whos not! haha

  • minutes to midnight sucked

  • Rick had a huge hand in the production of one of the classic thrash albums, Reign in Blood, and his work on that is noticeable compared to earlier slayer releases

  • Rick Rubin is the only reason that record was such a big hit... the nu-metal sound was getting old for Slipknot so they decided to find a new sound and Rick Rubin heped the do that... look at the new album, they got a new producer (a bad producer btw) it's still got that new Slipknot vibe but it's their worst album. Slipknot has been out there for like 10 yrs, Rubin's been doing it for like 20 someting yrs, they're the ones with a problem not him...

  • woah.... corey looks a lot like Kurt Cobain...

  • you can't really blame rick for anything sucking..........he doesn't really produce with is the best kind. if it sucks he'll tell you to re-record and he'll pick your best songs.........thats it.

  • I think that's why System of a Down produced all of their albums with Rick Rubin, haha. They seem like an independant band, so I guess that he was the perfect producer for a band like that. But I guess for bands like Slipknot, he should stay away.

But who knows, maybe if he was there to much the record wouldn't be as good as it was. Once again referring to System of a Down, maybe it was good for Slipkont to have to rely a bit more on themselves for the album :D

  • oh by the way... you signed the contract, I make 3% gross of your sales of this album...

    suckaaaaaaaz

  • hahahahaha basically rick rubin didn't bother showing up

"umm, that song that song not that one, nor that one, umm, OK, see you in a few months LOL"

  • the first 2 albums are by far the best. the last two got too introspective and shit. and the production was shit too. i miss the old slipknot when they were completely mental.

  • I'm just wondering..Why was the sound sooo much better on vol. 3, than on all hope is gone. Especcially the drum sound, was THE best of any metal record on vol. 3 and on all hope is gone its just clicky weird sounding...

  • The producer for AHIG was Dave Fortman, who produced for Evanescence and Simple Plan. Go figure.

  • ahahahahahahahahahaha simple plan...i see a simple plan/slipknot tour in the works....they're made for eachother

  • Yeah, like you and fudgepacking.

  • yes...i do like maple fudge...it's quite good...unlike slipknot...they are terrible fudge...like shit fudge

  • lololololololol

  • dude thats fuck'n funny ,i dont care what they say about you your allright

  • slipknot shows are the most fun of any band

  • The 1999 album is the best!

  • the first album was the best

  • hola slipknot cantas cabron

  • Long live to Slipknot and long live to pop-metal!!!!!!!!

    ALL MAGGOTS WILL REPOST!!!!!!!!

  • pop-metal?? hell no its nu-metal!!!

  • pop metal? what the fuck are you talking about?

  • @Erickson12349 popular metal

  • @Erickson12349 you do know that pop means popular and slipknot is one of the most known metal bands around

  • @Erickson12349

    e.g Slipknot

While Metal is not a mainstream genre, there are certain metal bands that are the more 'mainstream' of the underground.

    Like Slipknot.

  • 1:11 WOOF!

  • The 3rd album is their best probably because they're showing the world that they are not just another one-minded metal band.

  • that is stupid, you can only judge an album by how good the songs are, not from any background information you know

  • Their 3rd really is their best. It doesn't sound anything like their first 2 records, which were nothing but insanity (thereby not saying they're shit, 'cause i love them) but instead they sound more mature/controlled/professional.

Also it has solos. Shitloads of face-melting solos.

  • Yeah but i noticed a bunch of their NEW songs are like just...slow feeling and depressing shit, I still love them and shit but...their first two in MY opinion who the fucking best;

Insanity is exactly what im looking for in music

  • Yeah but the same thing may happen to them as it did to Linkin Park. They basically ditched their old style and started singing all this crap that their older fans hated. I really would prefer that Slipknot kept at least some of their heaviness. All Hope is Gone has a similar problem... I still love it but I just miss the old style...

  • i cannot believe that volume 3 is their favourite album...

it is the worts by far!!

  • im sorry but all this 'pop-metal' shit is just stupid xS its either pop or metal -.-' obviously little 6 year olds cant distinguish between the two lol xD

  • take ur middle finger and put on ur nose.

    2.say a name of someone u like.

3.that person will ask u out or say they love u tomarrow.

  • Long live to Slipknot and long live to pop-metal!!!!!!!!

    ALL MAGGOTS WILL REPOST!!!!!!!!

  • When did Professor Snape join Slipknot?

  • bahahahaha niiiice

  • I'm 6 years old and I like slipknot and I love pop-metal

  • What's pop-metal? It's like saying "I love white-black"

  • he's 6, what do you expect?

  • Pop metal is slipknot , limp bizkit , papa roach , p.o.d , korn , linkin park . Music for kids like me of 6 years old to 15 years old.
