@SoupermanFan A vanilla version of a game is the original version. Like the original MVC3 is vanilla. I'm not sure if that includes batches but I think it does. Another example would be that Street fighter 4 is the vanilla version of all the SF4's.

Hey Max, I'm having an identity crisis too. So far my team consists of Nemesis, Wolverine, and Sentinel. I know that Wolvy and Sent is an old pair back in Vanilla, but I'd like to keep them in. I decided to use Nemesis cuz he's a damaging character with simple combos, not to mention having Hyper Armor, and from your earlier videos, saying he can hold out himself as a point character. Im trying to avoid mainstream characters like Vergil and Wesker, but any advice or tips will be appreciated.

I'm still on the fence if my team is final. I use Chris (who I WON'T drop) he's my main and I honestly think he's secret top tier. Sentinal (yes I know you don't like him but his assist is just too godlike for Chris to allow me to setup flame grenades, etc). And Strider who is also godlike for Chris because his Vajra assist shuts down Chris' dead zone. But there are other characters I really am thinkin of usin such as Dorm who I used alot in vanilla so my team isn't 100% atm.

Besides Akuma isn't even a big deal sure his X factor deals a GREAT AMOUNT of damage but it's REALLY short even at lvl 3 and his HEALTH IS REDICULOUSLY LOW. He's a no brainer.

Thats Storms alt costume? Its HORRIBLE. The hairstyle is hard too look at. What makes me mad though is that the hair is the only problem with it. "Identity Crisis," eh? Nah, not me. I've never really had a main character per se, just a main team: Dormammu, Trish, and Dante. I tend to switch between them pretty freely during combat since their DHC synergy is fantastic and I have the habit of doing DHCs whenever I have the meter, so I've never thought of any of them individually as my main character. I have been noticing lately that I need more practice as Dante than as the other two, but that's not really what you were talking about.

Another tip is don't be afraid to spend a meter or burn x-factor to punish, because a large part of the marvel experience is the metagame. Find ways to get in your opponents head and make him second guess his inputs, the little things are what makes the difference between a W or getting R.Kelly'd.

1.know your normals, learn the properties,hitboxes, and recovery of your chars moves.

2. Practice mix-ups,cross-ups,techs, and reactions.

3.practice with all chars not just your main team, in a match knowing/understanding what buttons your opponent is pressing to helps alot.

4. Practice converting because being able to convert a mix-up or poke into a full combo is crucial to success
