It is not going to be, everyone doesn't decrease food consumption and suddenly they have to starve.

It will more probably be, people gradually are forced to slowly decrease consumption and some may die, but slowly. Eventually the deaths will be enough to steady the population, and everything goes on as normal.

People like you guys that commented here WILL realize the situation, and so will the governments. But it won't be all panicky, of course not. No one wants that.

This is kind of a nonsensical representation.

The theory of The "J" curve states that population will grow to a precipitous point & then collapse in a VERY short time. As a family [child of the 60s] we have had one child, own one car, no powered toys, bicycle mostly and stay as "minimal" as possible. Population is the one problem NOT being discussed by the powers that be. We're in trouble and those in gov't know it. This is what "WE'VE" been screaming about since the 60s.

If we do not start to control population, the decrease will NOT be gradual. It will be a sudden die off of billions of ppl in a few years.

The current infrastructure that brings us food & energy are at near-maximum capacity, and are being run so as to maximize short-term production and not long-term survival. Soon, these systems will break down, & famine and war will cover 1/2 of the world.

The numbers decrease after a while because the growth rates are SLOWING, right now. First, while the rates are still positive, the population continue to goes up, but since they are slowing, it's a matter of time to reverse and become negative. Then the population will start declining.

I'd advocate a worldwide one-child policy, or better still sterilizing at least half of us based on various quality tests. (IQ, conscientiousness, etc etc)

This would reverse the 'dysgenic' effect of the elites breeding 'Sheeple' (various cultures acheive it in different ways, going on for 1000's of years) ... and would result in greater individual freedom in future.

There needs be an audit on what is a sustainable world population. The world can only support so many people and past that point it just turns to crap.

I reckon that the world is going to beset with a catastrophe and then who knows, more authoritarian government, that will make sure that we don't breed ourselves into oblivion.

Everyone shoudl be goiven a basc intelligence test, and if they fail, they shoudl be sent ot the moon in a rocket.

If they learn how to land it, on the way, they can have the moon. (naturally, they will have to pay rent, and dig fo rthings on the moon, liek they do in africa).

do you know how many billions of tonnes of non essential foodstuffs that are chucked in the garbage each year? out of date potato chips, crisps, mayo, meat gone off, sweets, speciality food, etc. how many tonnes of the food calories and proteins in any given supermarket is thrown away? just reducing the meat intake by 10 %, growing vegetables instead of cow feed would increase food protein production 100 fold. 99% is lost between vegetables and the cow. and... BILLIONS of TONNES of PET FOOD.
