  • Rewarding players for challenging themselves to get better at the game? Gee, I wonder why Sakurai didn't do the same for Smash Bros.

    Nope.

    Brawl had difficulty settings for the Solo modes, and the highest difficulty was called Intense.

    The Fiend's Cauldron, which is what this trailer is about, allows you to bet hearts (this game's currency) to increase the intensity. If you beat the level after increasing the intensity, you get great rewards and you get your hearts back. But if you lose, you don't get the hearts back, and the intensity goes back down.

  • @freekhenstra I actually meant the name. You know, Instense... Intensity... I did have Intensity in quotes, but I guess I should have made my sentence clearer.

  • Why does every game that Sakurai works in end up having pretty much the same menu interface? A minor grip, and I actually love it, but watch the video: the menu UI has pretty much the same design than Brawl and Meteos. It's such an odd decision...
