It certainly didn't scare me. I thought she was funny and sweet and it was cool that she was giving out spanish lessons before Dora the Explorer. I don't know anyone who was scared of Rosita, she was a Sesame Street Character after all, you would have to be a pretty wimpy kid to be scared of her.

Rosita's gruff voice and her grabby attitude probably scared a lot of kids early on; I'm glad they made her more feminine and laid-back eventually!

Really? I don't see that she's much different today. It seems to me she's pretty much the same.
I love Rosita. She's almost like a female Herry---a big, sweet, affectionate lug who don't know her own strength.
