Good job defusing the situation without using deadly force, but I think sending in the dog when there is an undefended baby just inside the car was a bad idea. Even being highly trained I don't trust any predatory species around small children.

Lucky he didn't get shot. Officers treat their K9's as an officer, even have badges for them. I don't know why the cops didn't bumrush the suspect and put his face in the pavement though. Risky to let him stand there...he almost got back in the car to the baby.
