  • The music?

  • When I watched this in my class, I laughed so hard but everyone was so freakin dead serious. I'm so embarrassed! X(

  • Watched this in my animation class the other day and it creeped me out so so so much. Everyone was laughing and I honestly had no idea what I was watching.

  • wh......wha....what??

  • Celebrity Deathmatch´s grandady

  • To understand why this is so violent you have to remember it was made before the Hillsborough incident.

  • @sqccccccccc It's only after Hillsborough that people had seats. People would get killed.

It also picks fun at a system on the point to explode with bottled up violence. With the ending bum scene it feels like some sort of Freudian "distraction".

  • und ich dachte imemr grizzly rage sei der schlechteste Film aller Zeiten

  • Wow.. my mind is so fucked up right now :/

  • The players all look the same, they kind of just accept the death, only the last couple do anything about it by fighting back, perhaps this is a symbolism of best for last?

  • Kind of reminds me of Monty Python in bits

  • that's one hell of a drinking game

  • Ya confirmé que los futbolistas tienen la cabeza hueca

  • I think it's in the nature of men (like any other animal) the need for competition, thats why we like sports so much

  • Me encanta !! es un maestroo !! =)

  • Si el futbol fuera d veras así, lo vería siempre!!! :D

  • @AuriLuly ¿No viste la final del mundial?

  • Definitely influenced Terry Gilliam and Monty Python.

  • I'm going to have nightmares.

  • 6:23 disturbed me a bit. :s

    but i love this!! xD

  • I think it's just supposed to be absurd violence to show how stupid and obscene it all is, but connecting it with everyday household objects connects football violence with violence at home.

  • JA, JA, JA, JAJAJAJAJ A.... GENIAL

  • the cool thing is, this is still amazing for today. and why wouldn't it be, it's Jan Svankmajer.

  • XD XD

    Those guys are all cheaters

  • Yep, that's sports.

  • the players do not fight back, they let themselves be slaughtered, it looks like they are waiting for the opponents to show them their imaginativness in killing.

  • the music is excellent, the players are like ballet dancers or figure skaters.

  • Anyone know what the music is in the film? it's brill :)

  • come on ref, i barely touched him!

  • One of the best animation by Svankmajer

  • Great animation! This one was weird and didn't make much sense, if at all though.

  • the cookies,I know they arepart of a player

  • People watch sports for the violence not the game itself. The violence is sold to the audience (cookies). The violence isn't limited to the stadium, but seeps into the outside world.

  • It's true. Football games are steeped in xenophobia and violent brutish thuggism. You'd think these sports would bring people together but the rivalries spark up tribalistic bullshit. It even happens here in the united states - check out the recent L.A. Lakers riots. It's too disgusting for words. People rioting over 7 figure salary mercenaries run by bloated plutocratic owners. It can't get more stupid and pointless. Welcome to human history.

  • it "even" happens in the states... oh man. this killed me. But America's so civilized compared to the rest of the world.. who'da thought.

  • This settles it, I'm going to buy a Svankmajer DVD!

  • I bought and never regret it

  • Just SO funny xD i love svankmajer's work anyway...
