You can apply ar 16 and 6 months. I did the exact day I turned 16 and 6 months, called Army up, they contacted me a while later and booked me in to a YOU SESSION, 6 months after that (3 days ago) I attended the ASSESMENT SESSION (they must of been waiting 'till I was17) and I have been accepted in the Royal Australian Army as RACT (Royal Australian Corps of Transport). My enlitment date is currently the 19th of July but may be sooner if one of the 5 people infront drop out. :)

Are you going general entry or officer entry? The waiting times for the specific position on rifleman aren't long, especial;y as the ADF plan on creating new infantry battalions, however, it takes time to go through the entry process no matter what position you are applying for (probably about 4-5 months from first phone call to enlistment day)
going for general entry, and can l still go through that process whilst with braces, l know l can't go to training with them, but by the time l finish year 12 they probably be off anyways, if not soon after.
The whole application process usually takes at least three months, sometimes as long as a year. Start your application as soon as convenient to give yourself a bit of a fudge factor. When it's done, you can enlist any time you're ready.
Getting a spot for Infantry can take up to 18 months. By all means, do apply for a Rifleman position, but consider the other combat arms too.
Sign up now if you want to get into rifleman. unfortunately, that job is full for about a year (as of August 2009) so there's a huge wait if you want to get in.
otherwise, you could try joining for a different job, you can find information on the defence jobs website for jobs that are currently high priority.
Depends on what you're in the army as. I'd recommend just going to a DFR office and requesting a transfer. Since you're already in the Army, you'd have an advantage over people who have applied straight out of school or ADFA.
Also keep in mind to not think about the broader ramifications of you joining the military, like spreading misery in the name of profit for big US Corporations.

The whole application process usually takes at least three months, sometimes as long as a year. Start your application as soon as convenient to give yourself a bit of a fudge factor. When it's done, you can enlist any time you're ready.
Getting a spot for Infantry can take up to 18 months. By all means, do apply for a Rifleman position, but consider the other combat arms too.

Sign up now if you want to get into rifleman. unfortunately, that job is full for about a year (as of August 2009) so there's a huge wait if you want to get in.
otherwise, you could try joining for a different job, you can find information on the defence jobs website for jobs that are currently high priority.

Depends on what you're in the army as. I'd recommend just going to a DFR office and requesting a transfer. Since you're already in the Army, you'd have an advantage over people who have applied straight out of school or ADFA.

Actually Afghanistan has been considered a vital for America in terms of oil for decades. Don't forget the CIA helped the Taliban conquer Afghanistan. It is fairly obvious they did this in order to strike a deal with the Taliban for their purposed oil pipe line straight through the country. When Clinton demanded improvements of human rights the Taliban pulled the pin and went with Argentina (or some other country cant recall??)...

The American Military actually train with the ADF as well. Even the Marines train with our regular Army grunts, and their pilots are also trained by ours in some cases. Thats gotta make us good for something...
