It really made me cry, it's not right that it went off the air, to me this was a brilliant soap opera, better than others that were on the air. Better than B&B definitely, why could they not find a home for it. I will never understand it. Miss the soap, the actors and my fave couple Luke & Noah so much!
So they were short of time and yet they had the time to do a Lion King presentation, a description of Regis, and a tribute to Dick Clark, which would be great if he had anything to do with Daytime!
Well, this one was much better especially having better clips for us to remember both Ben Hendrickson (Hal) and Anthony Herrera (James) by. More black & white clips at the beginning was nice, especially getting to see Grandpa Hughes was exceptional. Still wish they had clips of Julianne Moore (as both Sabrina and Frannie; perhaps when they both first saw each other), Marisa Tomei (as Marcy, perhaps her Cinderella fantasy),
@TheWhatsinaname Steven Webber (as Kevin, perhaps when he and Bob saved Kim and Frannie during the climax of them getting kidnapped by Doug Cummings -- that way they would have gotten John Wesley Shipp in there) and Parker Posey (as Tess Shelby, Hal's neice) -- those four were probably the biggest named graduates from ATWT. And I would have loved to see both the couples, Jessica & Duncan and Shannon & Duncan.
@TheWhatsinaname Other characters that were missing from this tribute would have been some from the 1970's such as Joyce Colman Hughes and Grant Colman and the original Natalie Bannon Hughes (who was brilliantly played by, I'm forgetting the actresses name, but she plays Gloria currently on Y&R). The montage, also, should have included Penny Hughes, Ellie, Caleb & Seth Snyder, Kirk Anderson,
@TheWhatsinaname Angel Lange (the acknowledgement of that storyline would have been nice), Casey Pyretti (the acknowledgement of that euthansia storyline with Margo pulling the plug would have been nice as well), Lyla Montgomery, the original Margo & Tom (Justin Deas & Margaret Colin), and Margo #2 (Hillary Bailey Smith, especially one of the times she was pregnant), Adam Hughes, Jennifer Munson, & Bryant Montgomery.
Good question CJL. Here's mine, why has ATWT still not paid proper tribute to Helen Wagner? Then wouldve been perfect. The person who was on since the beginning left before the ending & no real attribute was given.
@soapaddict09 It is my understanding, from Martha Byrne's tweets, that a tribute for Helen/Nancy was taped a couple of weeks ago. Not sure when it will air.
@soapaddict09 The shows currently airing were taped prior to Helen's death. If it is going to be worked into story, it would take time to work that in. Days took months to address the death of Frances Reid also. Perhaps they feel it is more fitting to honor Helen closer to the end of the show. Something will be coming.
@WorldTurner I understand that but you mean to tell me some where in between the tribute video or in Jon or Kelley's intro NO ONE could've mentioned ANYTHING? I find that very hard to believe
@soapaddict09 i heard that when the cancellation was announced she was supposed to deliver the last line like when the show started she delivered the first line but yeah sad and they did pay tribute to her though

Where was James Stenbeck? Maybe I missed the clip of him.

@smiley8338 That's so true. They spent about 10 minutes on that Bandstand tribute!
Completely ridiculous!
2:30 minutes is already a really short tribute, and even then, they only show half of it!
Plus, this year at the Daytime Emmy's, they didn't even show a second of the performances by the nominated actors!
The only good thing about this year's Daytime Emmy's were the awards Maura, Michael and Julie won.

Much, much better. A shame they didn't air it.

the tribute they had for ATWT was PITIFUL. Just awful. I was so disappointed.

If the Emmy's had spent less time promoting Vegas, perhaps we would have gotten to enjoy this treat on Sunday.
This is a well-done tribute, and makes me yearn even more for the continuation of this saga. Thanks for posting WT, per usual.

Why didn't they air this one?!
CarjackLover149 1 year ago
@CarjackLover149 Because of supposedly time. They were running short of time. The same thing happened with the GL tribute a year ago.
