It depends on where you go. The ghettos look like something from a third world country, but most of the city isn't bad. The downtown area is one of the nicest in the country.
ive always wanted to do something just like this. im myself at midnight and i lovee philly im there as many weekends as possiable. coming from someone just like you, i can appreciate this video just as much. thank you.
Thank you for working at making video art for youtube. I think you would have better results posting it to google video although they do take two days to approve it. Also I have had better results exporting the video at a larger frame size (I over 700, whatever the standard miniDV is) and then when the youtube algorithms go after it it doesn't come out looking so pixelated because the original resolution was high enough. What codec did you use to compress it and at what frame size and rate?
Sorry for the long delay in response... I captured the video from a video capture card, MS MPEG-4, in 320x240 (30 fps). It was reformatted into MPEG-1, and then finally to WMV (Windows Media Encoder 9) before the upload here.
Thanks! I started out near 43rd and Spruce St, headed east. I cut through the University of Pennsylvania campus at 38th and Spruce, and worked my way toward Chestnut St and 34th. I followed Chestnut all the way to the Delaware river. The camera was nothing special - a $200 Samsung SCL700. I edited the video in Adobe Premier; sped up the frame rate and added various effects. Thanks for your interest!
thanks for this -so many memories of being lost and found there

Very nicely done. Would be cool if you could tell us the route you took and also tell us what kind of camera equipment you used.
