does anyone have any idea where i can get chords/tabs for this??? i love the song and i NEED to play/sing it but the only place i found online is a sheet music publisher from italy. what the hell?
bonjour.

I have no problem with those that play the part of a cool, Beat-influenced hepcat, it's just that Waits is especially bad at it. A man of limited talents for those with limited imaginations and limited knowledge of the history of popular music.
If you're going to spam all the Tom Waits videos with your cut and paste moans you'd better get cracking. there're a couple of million to go. and Waits stopped playing a "cool beat influenced hepcat" twenty years ago. he now plays a broken down old hobo channelling Kurt Weill, so you need some new material. unless you've been waiting twenty years to get that off your chest, in which case i hope you feel better now
he's doing a pretty piss poor job of channeling Kurt Weill, then. Yeah yeah, I know about the pirate songs and chanting doggerel. But crap like Chocolate Jesus is straight out of the Beat Poet playbook.
You have no SOUL fool. I pitty you and your self absorbed delusions of music. Learn to hear the art of the world and you will be set free... preferably from this mortal coil so the rest of us can enjoy tom in peace.

WoW! watching a musical magician. Tom Waits casts some kind of spell on me every time I watch one of his performances
goouttothemeadow 4 years ago
aaahhhhh....to watch the genius at play, wonderful.
God is a big fan of Tom you know?
Well He mentioned in passing last time we talked,
and frankly I was'nt surprised,
that He claimed to play fourth bassoon on some early
Waits tracks kinda knocked for six,......'till i realised it was God's little joke ....... I mean God's good 'n' all,
but Hes not THAT good.

Limited talents?
How many instruments do you play?
Limited imagination?
What the hell have you written that could hold a candle to anything he has produced in his career?
How many major artists like The Eagles, Bette Midler, Bruce Springsteen, The Bullet Boys, Bob Seger, Holly Cole, etc have covered your work?
Well....? Yeah, didn't think so. Take a walk junior, you're in way over your head.

"major artists like The Eagles, Bette Midler, Bob Seger" Okay, I admit, that is funny.
