  • jack= 'hey there jack how is your medula oblongata'

  • You spelled separator incorrectly.

  • you are awsome

  • @highsense100 if you are struggling with c++ try learning C first. It makes it much easier

  • python is more easier then c++ . c++ is more complicated and huge waste of time but in python things are much easier

  • @highsense100 Yup! But C++ is a lot more powerfull, it can do so much more. Also it's object-oriented which makes a lot of things easier if you know what you're doing!

  • @TheSturdge Whoops! My bad, I'd forgotton Python was object-oriented too xD

  • I couldn't get this to work when varb was a list, only worked if it was a tuble.

  • Lool. Saw title and said ,"No, Ghosts n Stuff"

  • ghosts n stuff

  • i didnt use print. Just typed bucky % varb and it run

  • @MrRapell there's a difference between just typing something and printing it

  • WTF does 8 means? xD lol

  • doesn't work

  • Python : The Parody!

  • Is hoss and easyhoss from that old show Bonanza?

  • @4esa5 Thank you, it makes sense. And what is Hoss and Easyhoss for that matter?

  • @tryenothaone some type of sideburn

  • @CallMeE209 Thanks

  • is Easyhoss or Hoss Bucky's last name?

  • @banntheman01 no it is roberts

  • If you dont like this you obiously dont like python not bucky. Bucky is awesome its impossible not to like him dont do python if you dont like it

  • [5:01]

  • what is hoss? lol

  • ghosts n stuff?

  • holy fuck python tutorials are boring as shit but i still want to learn it... i hope for my own sake that these will get interesting

  • ha ha, who would have thought that World of Warcraft would have actually helped me with something. I remember using %t in macros to substitute the target's name. Now it makes sense that %t was a predefined variable that was equal to the name of the person you were targeting.

  • -.- OMG imma break my pc. when i do the print part it says SyntaxError: invalid syntax and i tried using the same words as in the vid still saying SyntaxError: invalid syntax

  • @solider7022

    You probably have version 3 or higher. Try: print(put all yo' junk in 'ere).

  • @ChukMakeIt thx dude it worked

  • @MinecraftyMon Who says Robot's can't make mistakes? They're not perfect..

  • jajajaj this guy commented 2 years ago and i bet he still gets thumbs up

  • great one bucky

  • i am sure that u misspelled separator. most common mistake.

    that doesnt bother us.

    u r being very helpful.

    thanks a lot.

  • you diserve to be a colledge professor teaching programming to the world.:) you have the best totorials.

  • I really don't understand those ppl who dislike this tut. I believe that they are just jealous of bucky.

  • For those who have Python 3 remember to use "print ()", so in Bucky's example it would be: print (bucky % varb)

    Just thought I'd mention it in case anyone got confused.

  • @9KindsOfCrazy helpful, thanks.

  • bucky is this like a pointer in c++ ?

  • "Let's go ahead and get s tring named bucky... actually let's change it up a bit. Let's name it..... uuuuuuuuhhhh, bucky."

    rofl

  • @newman30000010 Hes a creative genious! and im terrible at spelling >.>

  • 0:14 EHEH

  • Hey, lots of helpful folk in these comments. I was wondering if I was going to need any other software to make programs, or if I can make stuff using only Python. I haven't completed the tutorials yet so I don't know. It would just be nice to know in advance.

  • i feel like i owe you money for these tutorials

  • print "Bucky kicks some serious ass"

  • You are my hero bucky , you are the man!

  • Do the variabel used to "fill in" the %s need to be a tupel? I tried to do it with a list and with a string and it would just give me errrors.

  • the %s dosent work for me, using version 3.1.2

  • @Deadly699

    It doesnt work in 3.1.2, like in 3.2 raw_input doesnt work.

    Just try version 2.7 which is stable or avoid it with some more commands :P

  • @Deadly699 Just add parentheses to that command so that it looks like so:

    print (bucky % varb)

    Python wants more parentheses in 3x.

  • @Deadly699 Works for me dude! v 3.2

  • Thanks verrrrrrrrrrry much!

  • how i did it was

    raw_input ("press enter to continue")

    x = raw_input ("enter name:")

    print "hey " + x + " my name is " + c + "!"

    btw c is the name of the charictar you made at the biggineng (its a whole differnt thing i made , kinda liek a game)

  • @HarrisPiech Shouldn't it be; android.find("hello") or android.find('hello')?

  • dude ur the best

  • Ok I rely like your tutorials but can you change your variable names from bucky please ???? :D

  • you are so random

  • yes i made a program that asks your name and asks your best friends name ansd then says hey yourname hows your best friend bestfriendsname?

  • Thanks Po

  • @HarrisPiech I have 2.6.5 and it works just fine, make sure all your syntax is right, if not sorry I cant help.

  • varb is no list, it's a tuple ^_^

  • Hahahaahah

  • "Hey there tuna, hows your fins". Nice example.

  • If you want to make a program that greets different people based on what they input using

    whatever = raw_input("Hi whats your name >>>")

    print "hello " + whatever + " how are you"

  • Omg, your helping me alot. Thanks and keep it up!

  • tuna="Hey there %s,I'm %s"

    vard=('bucky','fine thanks')

    print tuna % vard

    print 'Bucky,your tutorials are fantastic,even if you use \"bucky\" as a sequence name hell a lot of a times.'

  • tuna/fin :-) thanks for the good tutorials, im watching them all in row. i actually know quite a bit of python already, but its really easier to understand and remember some stuff with a nice explanation

  • For anyone trying this tutorial and using Python 3.x and having problems with the

    print bucky % varb

    command:

    due to the changes made in python 3.x the "print" command now needs parentheses.

    So the correct code would be

    print (bucky % varb)

    I don't now if anybody else was dumb enough, but it took me like 15 minutes to find that out -.-

    Great Tutorials by the way, any chance seeing any more?

  • Lol, you said there's not any need to use tuples bucky, and then in this tutorial you use one straight away ;)

    Protip: varb is a tuple.

  • it's a list not a tuple

  • @jeffery12108

    No, it's in brackets, therefore it's a tuple.

  • lol "Aw" by views, "to be continued..." you.

  • if u get ambitious lOOl

  • Thanks for the help Wrestler5000

  • Lets change it up .... sucker ROFL

  • Is there any way to make a Search-like program? Such as putting: print 'Enter room here:' and then have like... Room 1 = 'alpha' Room 2 = 'beta' Room 3 = 'gamma' So when you put in, print 'enter room here:' and you type room 1 it will display alpha Is there any way to make that sort of thing work?
  • This is just a rushed example --- but I would use a 2-dimentional array.

    For example (in python)

    room = [0, 1, 2]

    room[0] = "Alpha"

    room[1] = "Bravo"

    room[2] = "Charlie"

    user = input("Enter Room Number:")

    print room[user-1]

  • Explanation === Obviously, room[0] is room 1, so whatever their input is, we deduct it by 1 as we start by 0.

    To finish off.... consider this example: -

    room = [0, 1, 2]

    room[1] = ["Alpha", "Double Room", "Kettle", "Bath", "Internet"]

    room[2] = ["Bravo", "Single Room", "Kettle", "Shower"]

    room[3] = ["Charlie", "Single Room", "Kettle"]

    user = input("Enter Room number:")

    print "The Room name is:"+room[user-1][0]

    print "This is a "+room[user-1][1]

    Notice each room has different attributes?

  • Correction: -

    FIrst example is not a 2D array, the second one is. ;-)

    Lastly, correcting my second example

    room[0] = ["Alpha", "Double Room", "Kettle", "Bath", "Internet"]

    room[1] = ["Bravo", "Single Room", "Kettle", "Shower"]

    room[2] = ["Charlie", "Single Room", "Kettle"]

    I did room[1][2][3] -- meant to be room[0][1][2] ;-)

    Again, take it for what it is. There are numerous of ways to solving it. I am sure it can be adapted to suit whatever needs!

    Peace

  • Make sure you spell it right then -> separator

  • teach us how to make sounds with python without using pygame or any other JUST the basics, i'll appreciate it, because it seems python is free but when u want to make good things... it is not that free.

  • pygame is free

  • yep! but i was looking for some tutorial in order to make my own audio-program. (other than pygame) so next time try to read what people write instead of make these mistakes.

  • but i want to learn to do the following: if the person sais no to the question: thomas is cool, yes or no?

    i want to have an extra print pop up and if he sais yes, then i want something else to pop up...so how do i do that?

  • name = raw_input ("What is your name?:") print "Hello",name print "." gender = raw_input ("Are you a boy or a girl:") print "I don't believe you..." print "One more lie and I'm gone" print "K?" print "." cool = raw_input ("Thomas is cool, yes or no?:") print "LOL, ofcourse he's cool!" next = raw_input ("Press ENTER to get a cake!:") print "The cake is a LIE!!" i wrote this code to just mess around with the things you thaught me...
  • Name it Bucky again? This tutorial should be named python programming with Bucky. :p

    Btw, the google ad pop up is really ignoring. It'll be great if you can type the scripts on the top of the screen.
