She rarely did and if she did it wasn't a seductive smile, it was a simple straight face and I love that. Her and Bernadette Flynn did that. Gillian Norris was and is the best, she danced using her natural beauty and grace she seduced all who saw her, like a beautiful bird, a butterfly, seducing anyone who saw her as she danced and daring them to catch her.
Aghhh I hate what's happened to the show, Gillian did the part seductively, but tastefully with good acting to go with her amazing dancing. This is lazy, bad dancing, and the steps she keeps doing are sluty and not tasteful at all compared to how Gillian did it...

The role of Morrighan seems to have lost all of it's class. In the past, she'd be seductive, but there was a purpose behind it, you know? Now most interpretations of the role are just disrespectful.
And Ms. Norris did a great job creating the role, but Caroline Fahy I believe is best. I saw her a few years ago and she was amazing.
You should always judge the style or performance of one dancer to someone else; when I went to see the show last year I was surprised this piece had some tweaks as as well but it just shows each person has their own take on the role they play.
If you have one particular interpretation in your head (like I did) you very well may be disappointed but the differences just reflect how the individual performer views their character; for example, Lisa is still showing a free-spirited person.
I agree that Gillian was wonderful as Morrighan in this piece but you can't compare every single person to her (it's not fair on the individual artists). Different people have their own view points on how they imagine the role to be done and if all you think about is how well one person played a role, or a single style, it makes sense that you'll be disappointed.

also seen the show last year in germany. gypsy was not even performed or dance of love. bernadette was still playing the "nice" girl, but horrible set, fat dancers, no gillian.. it had been a dream come true for me to see this live at last, but in the end i was terribly disappointed by the show.
I agree. Way too many floor movements, not enough actual dancing. Nowhere near proper standards, let alone Gillian Norris standards. Gillian MADE that role.
I do agree, but i also think that Gillina had the best choreography. The dance nowdays is very much like ID itself, to many tricks and turns. They should just let it flow. This dancer seemed a little 'stiff', the girls are Irish dancers not musical theatre ones.

They've changed the routine from the original, this version wouldn't look out of place in a pole dancing club. She's a great dance thou.
