@mocker4eva yes he did, Alex has commented on it before and even has a tattooo in dedication. We are appreciating the music, this song is a tribute to his dead brother. So in turn we are appreciating him. And that was Alex's intention.

This song really gets to me, especially currently. My parents divorced when I was about 3 months old, and with that divorce I lost contact with my older brother. On monday, after around 19 years, I am in contact with my older brother and will be meeting him for the first time since I was a baby. I feel fortunate that I am going to see him. Alex, however, lost his brother forever. Alex, I love you dude, I wish you could have been able to have him around forever.

yeah, my grandfather died. only person ive ever cared about. hate my family. drunken father, drug addicted mother, sister is a wreck, 18, no job, 3 kids. hell. ive been beaten senseless, my grandfather took care of me, gave me wisdom, gave me an education, now hes gone, cus some asshole with a gun. so yeah, alex can learn how to deal with real pain, cus at least he has someone else in his life.
