ballpark 40+ fps with 640x480, low details, and 30+ fps with 800x600 medium detail. you seem to have penryn (45nm) which should be a killer. (i have 1.4ghz t5270 :).)
aside : try 'riva tuner' to push it to 600mhz core and 700mhz memory. it then almost matches 8600m gt :D. game is light enough to handle overclocking. temps soar around 90 C, which is okay (card auto-throttles at 103 C.) suggestion - use it for fun and not regularly. (ps : can also boost windows vista rating to 4.4 :p.)
more drifting :D but its good =) the only thing I dont like in tdu is, that u cant custamize ur cars :( more painting and vinyls are much better I think but its a great game!
thanks :). can almost consider the upgrade as a no, but should be possible - getting a graphics card mxm module and opening up the notebook to fit it - provided the motherboard has the mxm slot.
while recording, 640x480 medium quality and no hdr. in general, runs fine at 800x600 high quality, and 1024x768 low quality (playable at 25fps and controls are responsive enough). hdr doesn't kill but game is less responsive.
i thought antialiasing also kills frame-rate usually. also makes it a little blurry on low resolutions. a lesser evil is to increase resolution.
hdr=high dynamic range imaging. makes bright things look really bright and glaring. sun looks like real sun etc.
in any case, i am extremely happy with the 8400m gs on this notebook. its a huge improvement from the 7400go on my old notebook. do get a notebook cooling pad though :).
the artwork is good, but although its cheap now, please think twice before buying unless you get the xbox360 version. the pc version is badly ported. it runs fine in xp with some occasional glitches (especially make sure there is quite some free hard drive space). but in vista, it stutters and is unplayable. (not vista's fault, something with this game. btw, the game looks more beautiful with vista's dx10 and physics is also more realistic.)
128mb dedicated, 256mb with turbocache. 1.4ghz, centrino t5270.
ps : the game performs badly in vista. this game is beautiful, but poorly coded. the developers have apparently abandoned the game and not released any patches for the many problems.
Faster, cos I seemed to get a lot more grip with driving aid set to 'sport' and accelerating is easy. Although I always play with hypersport, it just seemed that accelerating is hard with less grip. Anyway, its amazing the way you managed with aid turned off. Skids way too much.
aww i havent played this game in ages cos ive got the new one installed, deffo prefer this one, good job on the race, this one took me AGES to win.

I used an Enzo too. Is it just me or does your foot hurt like hell after this race with pedals?

Looks great and very fluid, I wonder if I can upgrade the video on my vostro, since I got the Intel GMA option

Seems to run very smoothly, I just ordered a vostro 1400, what graphic settings did you use in the game?

Cool, thanx, I find 800x600 looks fine with anti aliasing and filters in most games. What's hdr???

I was thinking of getting this game, the sound of that engine has just persuaded me, nice movie.
