My head was so stuck in a rut of depression that is was hard to shirk it off . I couldn't even manage a smile. The years have battered me and I've still not found the "good" life. Then I hear Tony Bennett's voice and wondered to mysef what this "good life" he was refering to. American women have been so mean. They have rejected me because of my 5'3 height throughout my life. Now folks! this was TV back in the day. I am a Black Male and in the sixties and 50s i know things were different but this is the music that I got use to in the early days of Tv. I remember sitting around the oval screen Tv with My Mother and Grandmother watching Sullivan,Como,Parr 2 name a few on a sunday Eve. I'm a recovering alcoholic and this song has a whole new meaning in sobriety.

I thought getting drunk, gettin high and getting laid was living the good life, which maybe it was for a while, but that was a long time ago. After an entire adult life of it came dishonsty, deceit and denial.

I love being sober, I sometimes wish I'd got it earlier but such was my insanity, I didn't realise I was suffering from an illness I didn't know I had

Check this out. I look at this different. I look at as nothing but good and as the good music Tony Bennet meant it to be.

Sometimes the recovery is worst than the cure.
