  • super smash bros. brawl...

    This is very good!!

  • X for Virtual Console!

  • Sounds like Bonus Stage music.

    BONUS STAGE!!!!!

    Ready?....GO!

  • @PHILRYABKIN The programmers who worked on this game also worked on star fox for the snes! And Nintendo definitely should!

  • @AxeManAnthony While it was influenced by StarGlider 1 and 2.

  • Kickass song, someone needs to extend this version

  • Ah,the feeling the 90-era return although i first time listen this music.

What a nice music, why i missed music during 90-era?

  • By the way, anyone have a Piano Cover? You would be the first one to make one.

  • @UltimateGamers115 I've got one, but no videocamera :(

  • @erdavis7 Wow. It would be great if you did have one.

  • X-Scape is an awesome game, I completed it. The last level is awesome :D

  • I imported this game such a classic.

  • @PHILRYABKIN - Even better, they put it as is from the original onto the Virtual Console for 3DS!

  • chuck norris is the componist lol

  • what can i say? kick-ass 8-bit music at his finest.

    long live 8-bit!

  • Amazing the GB could handle this game.

  • This is too badass for Game Boy.

  • Was this realeased in america?

  • @evanfire30 No, but its sequel X-Scape / X-Returns was.

  • @1983parrothead is X-Returns any good?

  • @Kefka44

    It's amazing. It's on DSiWare.

  • @1983parrothead - 3D Space Tank was the EU name, just searched it up.

  • @hulksuperfan Yes.

  • @1983parrothead Obviously. Which one do you think is better?

  • I reccomend getting X-scape

  • For the gameboy, this is very impressive. Probably the best gameboy song.

  • Better than the one on Brawl.

  • and this is what i call a good effort for making a good music for the game boy.

  • X-Scape is now available.

  • @1983parrothead

Downloaded it today. I love the tunnel scene music in both versions. :D

  • It still blows my mind that companies like Nintendo, Konami and Capcom were able to make such great music out of the shitty synth of the NES and GameBoy.

  • @TakinawaTonfa

You should check out music for Lagrange Point for Famicom if you haven't already.

  • @stripedhyenuh Lagrange Point doesn't count, because it had extra music hardware inside the cartridge.

  • @PHILRYABKIN There's a DSiWare title coming out called X-Scape - a sequel to the original.

  • Gotta get this as a ring tone.

  • One of the best songs ever heard on a handheld.

  • Comment removed

  • More like the Battlezone arcade.

  • I hope this is remixed DSi style in X-Scape.

  • @realar

Based on some footage I've seen, yes, it will be remixed.

  • i don't know which is a better version of "X"? the super smash brothers brawl one or the original one? somebody help me out?

  • If u ask me, I think this 1 is so much better.

  • @beetle1890 Definitely the original imo!

  • Why wasn't this released in America?!?!?!

This is the best gameboy music ever!!!!!!

  • Sounds like Konami music.

  • You mean NES Konami music. Konami music on other platforms sound different, especially the Konami arcade games.

  • What I meant was, Konami music often sounds simple, catchy and unique, at least to me.

  • Sounds like K.K. music.

It remembers me of Super Mario Land 2 and Zelda Link's Awakening.

  • Wow! That's pretty damn amazing for a Game Boy game. :O

    Thanks for uploading! :D

  • Do you have the music of the mission 10?

It is so dark and something.

  • This is great stuff.

  • Lol for one letter its sure a long word in japan.

    EKKUSU!?

  • I put that there to make it easier to find this. Also, it's how the Japanese pronounce the letter "X".

  • holy crap Incredible best game boy song ive ever heard

  • I love this game's soundtrack. I have this game for my Gameboy and when you play it on a Super Gameboy, it has default colors, I think it's 4-D. What song in SSBB is this?

  • There is only one song from X in SSBB, and it's the one you are viewing right here.

  • Kazumi Totaka was as good then as he is now i guess

  • Hard to believe a song like this was on Game Boy...

  • I know!!! right?

  • You can head bob to this song :D

  • Sounds way too good for Gameboy :O

  • Are you absolutely sure this version is in SSBB as well? Is it a so-called "lost track", maybe? Cancelled? Or just a myth? I've never encountered this version in the game and it doesn't appear on any lost track list on the internet. I'm trying to collect for 100% ALL soundtrack of the game, so it's important info to me.

  • Go watch the video I uploaded titled "X (エックス Ekkusu) - Mission 1 gameplay". It will show you where exactly this song is played in.

  • It is played on Lylat Cruise and it is a randomly dropd Cd in that stage......

  • it appears on lylat cruise, i think its a randomly dropped CD

  • From what i've seen, only the remake is available on SSBB. I don't have all the songs, but the SSBB site says nothing about it.

  • this song is on ssbb, but can you tell me all the lost tracks in a pm?

  • Of course it is in SSBB. I uploaded this song as soon as I saw it revealed in the Smash Bros. Dojo website. And what lost tracks are you talking about?

  • I'm gonna be totally honest here. Better than the SSBB remake.

  • This song would be good enough for DS just by adding a realistic drumbeat over the top of it.

  • THIS... SONG... ROCKS!!!!

  • LMAOOO this song make me laugh llooool

it sounds like link gets like a thousand of rupees in 3 sec LOOOL

  • I appreciate your comment, but I didn't make this song myself, I only searched online for the MP3 file and uploaded it.

  • badass

  • brawl

  • What about it?

  • i think he means this song is in brawl.

  • I know that, but it doesn't sound as good as saying "This song is in SSBB".

  • Lol I love this song. Even the original is pwn! Woulda loved if they put the original in the game as well ^-^

  • Oops by the game I meant Brawl. I woulda loved to fight with this music =)

  • true.

it would be nice if you had variations of one song in one category with their own individual ratio controls in ssb4 man its so nice to think in the vein of sakurai.

  • I get the feeling that Dan Deacon was listening to this or something like it when he was writing Ultimate Reality.

  • The song sounds pretty good in the original version. ^_^

  • Wow! Now I know why Mr. Totaka wanted to remake this song in Brawl! They should have X in America! First 3-D Handheld game? Well, I see why now! Catchy and Dynamic! ^_^

  • I can see why they wanted to remix this tune so badly. This is really good, catchy and dynamic!

  • well if this song that barely anyone has heard of is in Brawl then I think that some characters that almost everybody knows should be in Brawl!

  • Barely anyone in America knows, but in Japan, where Brawl was made, this game is actually quite famous (especially since it was the first handheld 3-D game to ever exist).

  • Oh really? I didn't know that. Brawl was the first I had ever heard of X, which is why I thought they meant Mega Man X.

  • X came in 1992, while Mega Man X came in 1994. X was from Nintendo and Argonaut Systems while Mega Man X was from Capcom.

  • I'm guessing that Baloon Fighter is going to be a newcomber in the next Super Smash Title

  • What does this and your other comment have to do with this video?

  • Can i use this?

  • For what?

  • A video.

  • What video? A MUGEN video? A YouTube Poop video? A home video? OR WHAT?

  • A Youtube Poop.

  • Is it related to the Game Boy game Solar Strike

  • You mean "Solar Striker"? No.

  • Is this game in any way related to the mega man series?

  • No. Just because it's simply called "X" doesn't mean it's related to the "Mega Man X" character or series.

  • Also, X was released in 1992, while the first Mega Man X was released in 1994.

  • my favorite part was from 00:00 to 01:30

  • XD ! Lawl.

  • @husnain404

That's the best reply out of all of them. :D

  • @TheKyGuy damn that's an old comment!

  • @husnain404 What's wrong with 01:31, eh?

  • personally this is my all time classic sountrack, and also i think it beatsKid Icarus. (note that this is on the original gsmeboy)

  • How awesome can Gameboy Bleeps be? THIS AWESOME!

  • This song slaps

  • no the game is "X" :)

  • If y'all like this song, then why not create your own MIDIs of it and upload them to VGMusic? Be sure to call it "Tunnel Scene 1", so that it won't cause confusion between this Tunnel Scene music and the Tunnel Scene music heard in Applepieman1990's video.

  • I love both themes! This one happens to be a particular favorite of mine. Thank you very much for posting, as I was curious as to what "X" was like. Thanks!

  • Same here! I REALLY appreciate the upload! This track RULEZ!!!!

  • This game had to be Japan Only Game xP

  • It is Japan-only.

  • WIN

  • Is one of my favorites action themes. Its remember me the times when i see Robotec.

  • This is pure Old-Skool win =P

  • This is one of my favorite gameboy songs

    AUTOMATIC WIN

  • AWESOME

  • Totaka is a GENIUS. Have you guys heard his stuff? I love this mans compositions.

  • I really like this song.

  • It's like Star Fox it seems, only more portable, popular, and with 1st person instead

  • Also, it came before Star Fox.

  • Only before Star Fox 64. The original Star Fox was made before this.

  • Actually, I believe you're thinking of the totally-unrelated-to-Nintendo's-franchise Star Fox for Atari 2600, though I could be wrong =P

  • Heck, we could all be wrong! =/

  • Scary!!

  • You're wrong. X came out first, before Nintendo started work with the Super FX chip.

It's somewhere there on some GameVideos interview with Dylan Cuthbert.

  • You said it theyre kinda greedy in a way.

  • ....*head'splode out of awesomeness*

  • Cool, actually never heard of this game but the music seems great. I like the brawl remake.

  • This Game Boy title was released only in Japan. That's why you never heard of it.

  • Better than Brawl song!!

  • I am addicted to this music like Galactic Pinball music :)

  • Awesome Music.

  • I'm addicted to it now. D:

  • Most stuff that we would eat up stays in Japan. They know that the majority of people would just be like "WTF is this? I'll watch Larry the Cable Guy instead." so they don't bother most of the time. Makes me mad. I'll just move there or something.

  • Agreed

  • I know. And did you know that this was the first game that Kazumi Totaka (who K.K. Slider from Animal Crossing is based on) did the music for X? Also, did you know that this was the first game to feature Totaka's Song that was heard in many others, such as Mario Paint? I uploaded more videos of X, as well as making someone update the X article at Wikipedia.

  • And Luigi's Mansion, Pikmin 2, Virtual Boy Wario Land (formally known as Wario Cruise), Yoshi's Touch & Go, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening/DX, Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

  • I can't beleave that this game is only in japan! it looks and sounds sooooo cool!

  • 4,376 of pure smash bros brawl contestants

    awesome song =)

  • Yeah ;P

  • I found it in X, which was its first appearance. I uploaded a video of it. The one in Mario Paint was the first one discovered. It's just like the Konami Code in the NES version of Contra was the first one discovered, while the Konami Code in the NES version of Gradius was its first appearance.

  • kazumi was the guy who was the director for the remix too

  • Glad this is in Brawl. REALLY nice piece of music.

  • thank you i have wanted to hear the origanal since they updated it on smash!

  • My favorite no franchise music EVER!

    X is so cool!

  • The Wikipedia article about this Game Boy title has been updated with a lot more info other than its history and music!

  • Who ever guessed this song would be in brawl!

  • who composed this? holy shit this is awesome!!

  • Kazumi Totaka.

  • ^ He also composed Animal Crossing music.

  • And many others, such as Wii Sports, Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru, Mario Paint and Wave Race 64.

  • That's a kickass beat

  • So this is what the original sounded like. Very nice.

  • This is some kick ass music for a GB game.

  • This is exactly what you would expect from the original team who did Star Fox.

Too bad Argonaut software isn't doing so well right now...

  • But where Argonauts left off, Q-games picked up.

  • Argonaut was and still is the king of 2D graphics based 3D engines IMHO. Although, other than I-Ninja they haven't been doing so well making full 3D games. I think the 2D console era was their strongest point though, because they were so ahead of their time. But now consoles have caught up in technology and the whole pseduo-3D thing went obsolete. Not only that, the company split and Argonaut Games was floated into a public limited company and all.

  • But back in the day, when being able to move around in full 3D space was thought to be impossible especially on hardware such as the SNES (or even gameboy), they were way ahead of everyone else in technology.

  • I mean after all, they are the ones who made the Super FX chip. Not to mention most of the games for it. Star Fox, Stunt Race FX, etc.

  • Everyone, except the people who developed FaceBall 2000 (a.k.a. MIDI Maze).

  • Argonaut is out of business.

However, one of their subsidiaries, Just Add Monster, got their name changed and is just made Heavenly Sword.

The original founder, as I understand it, currently runs an online poker business.

  • thats really cool. I'm glad that song is in brawl. The remixed version for brawl on the site is awesome aswell. Thats some of the best music on Game Boy there.

  • How adorable and cool at the same time.

  • great song

  • Is there neway u can send me this song. It's sound awesome, and the remix on brawl sound f'n amazing. My email is megaX999 at yahoo. Thankz!!

  • The download link to this music is in this video's description.

  • Excelent song, I liked a lot. Very good that is now part of the awesome OST of Smash Bros. Brawl!

  • They did a good job with the remix!

  • that song was pretty pimp for a gba...they will rock it out on ssbb
