It still blows my mind that companies like Nintendo, Konami and Capcom were able to make such great music out of the shitty synth of the NES and GameBoy.
I love this game's soundtrack. I have this game for my Gameboy and when you play it on a Super Gameboy, it has default colors, I think it's 4-D. What song in SSBB is this?
Are you absolutely sure this version is in SSBB as well? Is it a so-called "lost track", maybe? Cancelled? Or just a myth? I've never encountered this version in the game and it doesn't appear on any lost track list on the internet. I'm trying to collect for 100% ALL soundtrack of the game, so it's important info to me.
Of course it is in SSBB. I uploaded this song as soon as I saw it revealed in the Smash Bros. Dojo website. And what lost tracks are you talking about?
it would be nice if you had variations of one song in one category with their own individual ratio controls in ssb4 man its so nice to think in the vein of sakurai.
Wow! Now I know why Mr. Totaka wanted to remake this song in Brawl! They should have X in America! First 3-D Handheld game? Well, I see why now! Catchy and Dynamic! ^_^
Barely anyone in America knows, but in Japan, where Brawl was made, this game is actually quite famous (especially since it was the first handheld 3-D game to ever exist).
If y'all like this song, then why not create your own MIDIs of it and upload them to VGMusic? Be sure to call it "Tunnel Scene 1", so that it won't cause confusion between this Tunnel Scene music and the Tunnel Scene music heard in Applepieman1990's video.
I love both themes! This one happens to be a particular favorite of mine. Thank you very much for posting, as I was curious as to what "X" was like. Thanks!
Most stuff that we would eat up stays in Japan. They know that the majority of people would just be like "WTF is this? I'll watch Larry the Cable Guy instead." so they don't bother most of the time. Makes me mad. I'll just move there or something.
I know. And did you know that this was the first game that Kazumi Totaka (who K.K. Slider from Animal Crossing is based on) did the music for X? Also, did you know that this was the first game to feature Totaka's Song that was heard in many others, such as Mario Paint? I uploaded more videos of X, as well as making someone update the X article at Wikipedia.
And Luigi's Mansion, Pikmin 2, Virtual Boy Wario Land (formally known as Wario Cruise), Yoshi's Touch & Go, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening/DX, Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
I found it in X, which was its first appearance. I uploaded a video of it. The one in Mario Paint was the first one discovered. It's just like the Konami Code in the NES version of Contra was the first one discovered, while the Konami Code in the NES version of Gradius was its first appearance.
Argonaut was and still is the king of 2D graphics based 3D engines IMHO. Although, other than I-Ninja they haven't been doing so well making full 3D games. I think the 2D console era was their strongest point though, because they were so ahead of their time. But now consoles have caught up in technology and the whole pseduo-3D thing went obsolete. Not only that, the company split and Argonaut Games was floated into a public limited company and all.
But back in the day, when being able to move around in full 3D space was thought to be impossible especially on hardware such as the SNES (or even gameboy), they were way ahead of everyone else in technology.
thats really cool. I'm glad that song is in brawl. The remixed version for brawl on the site is awesome aswell. Thats some of the best music on Game Boy there.
