There's only one gearmanndude, and I usually like his demo's a lot. But this demo brings out the worst in the "spray and pray" approach to pedal demos. The one by DaveWeiner is much more informative IMO. Sorry gearmanndude. I know your camera was low on juice and I looked for the follow-up video you mentioned, but I did not find it. FWIW, I still dig pretty much all of your stuff.

The Electro Harmonix CATHEDRAL is over kill if your looking to sweeten up your sound with just a reverb effect. Their holly grail is perfect for that.

This pedal is an attempt at combining a looper with some simulated cab effects reverb...

I do some recording with cool edit pro (adobe audition), and when acoustic guitar is recorded with a fast up and down strum and adding the 'echo chamber' effect is comes across like a synth/organ/noise... can anyone tell me the best echo/reverb pedal to achieve this sound live?

I's say a 'Holy Grail Reverb' and the '#1 Echo' both from Electro-Harmonix. They both should be the same price, but I would go with those two as they work well with acoustic guitars

reverb is the only effect I use ALL the time. But it's an easy effect to over-do... just abit adds depth and 'breath' to one's guitar tone.

This is an awesome reverb pedal. You really need to sit down and tweek it to see how versatile it is. It just kicked my Grail off the pedal board. I can easily live without reverb (normally), but this does so much. Nice little delay too (on the echo setting).

I think reverb pedals are good at what they do, and I think they have a place.

Like for solos in certain styles of music, they add a depth that can help bring it out in the mix. Now lets say you don't like the sound of the reverbs of whatever DAW you're using...thats where a pedal comes in! Then again, once you record with it that way you're stuck with it, but even so, it has prolly been done with good results.

I hate to say this gearmandude, but you're going to be seeing a flood of new reverb units hitting the market very soon. A company called Beldon recently started making a reverb/delay module we pedal builders have come to nickname the "BRICK". We call it this because it's roughly the same shape as an EMG pickup, but about 3/4 the size. I can tell just by listening to this demo that it may very well have a Beldon "BRICK" unit in its guts as its central component.

stereo means you can hook it up to two amps. One amp will have have a certain sound the other will have a different sound and when combined both amps sound a lot better than just using one amp. Unfortunately owning two amps can be very pricey.
