  • wow,if its ok with safety pins, its gonna be even better with just some hand sewing,so i can make it! :)

  • you're so cool!!!! this video is so cool!!!

  • OMG! Thank you soooo much! I am only 11 but a VERY passionate designer, just one question, how do you make the first blue dress? It looks like there is sowing involved and I don't have a sowing machine yet.....

    :)

  • @GossipCutieGirl2000 PLEASE reply! I NEED to make this dress so bad! It looks so damn good! xoxo

  • Love your spirit! I feel great success coming your way!!!

  • i looooooooooove it!!! im going to wear it to a dance at school :)

  • @808animalistic curvy and fat are 2 different things. I have a 32f cup, 25 inch waist, and 38 inch hips and butt. That's curvy and this looks just fine on me.

  • @ashdiva86 someones either fat or not very creative... Either way you sound extremely bitter. What's so unrealistic about it? I did it just fine!

  • This didn't really work... But it was really cool! I'm just not an amazing craftsman.

    Nice!

  • skip to 1:56 to get straight to the steps =)

  • COOL!

  • GREAT VIDEO! TWO IMPORTANT QUESTIONS...what type fabric should i request at fabric store/how much of it? How do i measure the length of dress? I'm 5'6" and want it at my knees. Thanks!

  • Idk it looks tight to me... Especially me, im a curvy girl so lol.

  • ilikethisvideo

  • Its like a toga!!;)

  • This dress is amazing. However, I needed a buddy to help me get into it, lol

  • how much fabric will ii need to make exactly what you made? I want to make one for my fashion show!

  • your a true inspiration

  • *gasps :O...........:D

  • beautiful

  • what type of fabric is this?

  • I love love love this, I'm going to go check out the whole channel now!

  • it's no way to wear this garment unless you pin it on urself....unrealistic

  • is there a way i can sew it that way? I want to do it for my bday

  • @micheia1 : I imagine you could pin it and then very carefully take it off, then sew the pinned sections appropriately, or you could pin it to yourself, then make markings where seams would be and sew it that way. Personally, so that you can assure you have the same sort of fit afterwards, I would mark where the fabric is normally pinned and just add a large decorative button at each of those points. I would also consider putting in an invisible zipper on one of the sides under the arm.

  • hey..how much fabric do i need for this dress? wil 1 meter be enough?

  • cute!!

  • Great. Love it. Thanks for sharing with all of us your ideas. Regards from Ecuador.

  • hi i love it ...but can you make a video how you make the blue dress please.... i need to make a strapless long dress i will need this week ...thank you

  • I like finding new and easy patterns/ideas for clothing. This is the first video I've seen of yours and it was good. I will definitely be looking for more. Thanks!

  • ok i might mak this... but i will actually sew

  • You are sooo creative! I have been looking for a great DIY wrap dress! Keep up the excellent work! I cant wait to see where your talent continues to take you!

  • OMG!!!!!so smart i loved!!

  • do you where it with all that pins? or you sow it before you weqr it?

  • i have really cute nude heals and I've been looking for an off shoulder dress like this for ages now possibly lace but that's not the point now i can make a really cheep dress and maby even look a little expensive with detaining and stuff but thank you so much it looks so easy altho i might sew mine together :)

  • This is a refined format of traditional south indian saree!

  • Which video editor do you use?

  • i loved it! good luck with the show!

  • I made this dress fr a fashion show and it came out awesome!!!!!!! THank you sooooo much!

  • that's a really cool dress. m gonna make one asap, just waiting 2 get thinner

  • hi, where can i order that orange stretchy fabric? is it cotton, modal or polyester?? thx

  • the dress is beautiful and l love ur earrings XD

  • Wow thats a pretty dress!!

  • Could you sew it if you wanted to instead of using pins?

  • It actually looks awesome! Think I'm gonna need a whole lot of body enhancers when I make mine :-/ You could just stitch the bits that are pinned though, sewing isn't that scary reeeally :-)

  • Please tell me where you got the dress form from?

  • It looks great! How do you take it off though without undoing the dress again?

  • this is great for a "powerpuff girls" halloween look for cheap :D thanks!

  • Genius!

  • In the middle I was like "Hm. I should make a blue one. Blue would look good." Then at the end you showed yourself wearing a blue one! I just thought that was cool...lol

  • what fabric did you use?

  • This is awesome! I am definatly making this.

  • amazing wrk....thnx fr posting d video

  • where did you get that body model from??

  • Amazing job and video! Now all I need to know is how to get a waist as small as the mannequins. Thanks for sharing.!

  • Really nice dress!

  • How do you not pin yourself with all the pins?

  • @cindys12003

When I wear this wrap dress, I always have a slip or body garment underneath. I then pin the safety pins to the slip. I generally only use about two safety pins because I pull the fabric so that it will fit tightly around my body.

  • wow..this is nice!

  • How did you wrap the strapless blue one at the end? I want to make it for my homecoming dress

  • @YAYAREA37

Just wrap the fabric around your body one full time. when you get back to the front, twist the end of the top of the fabric then pin it inside. This is how I achieve the twisted look at the top.

  • what type fabric are you using for this dress?

  • @idelicious1

I used a knit fabric. You can use any fabric that has some stretch to it.

  • So amazing! I'm going to make one asap! :) Do you suggest a certain type of fabric? I have no idea what kind to get. Thanks!

  • @invisiblepumpkin

I suggest that you use a knit fabric.

  • @DiscountTrendsetter this is so cool!! u got urself a new subbie! =) (i love to sew even though im only 12 haha! )

  • OMG!!!!!!! IT'S SOOOO AMAZING!! :D The dressis really pretty!

  • @SprinkledTruffles94

Thank you so much for supporting The Discount Trendsetter Show.

  • if you make it on those plastic people thingys how do you take it out?

  • @yo8islate

I used a dress form in this video because I didn't want to show parts of my body. lol Generally, I wear a body brief and just wrap the fabric directly around my body. Look at the pictures in the blue. These styles are easy to create directly onto your body without using a dress form.

  • Heads up, the gov of the united states is trying to pass a law called the Design Piracy Prohibition Act, It will destroy the fashion world forever if it pass!! send me a message for more info! ) :

  • @amayagirlie123

I haven't wore the one shoulder look, but I have wore the tube style and some of teh other looks I showed in the blue fabric.

  • You are so sweet and look great.

Thanks so much for sharing sister :-)

Can't wait to try this lol

  • I am loving this dress. Keep doing your thing

  • i love this dress. but, is there any chance that the pins could go through to the other side of the body enhancer and poke you? =( also, if i wrap it on myself, can i use safety pins (that close) on the INSIDE???

  • wow! so simple... i can make and wear a whole lotta styles!

  • Thank look like one of kim kardarsin dress. She got a blue dress like that.

  • How in the world do you take it off the dress form without losing the shape? Or does it snap back once you put it on? Thanks for your help, love this idea.

  • @justnjoying

You don't need a dress form to make this dress. You actually just wrap it around your body and pin it in place. I just used the dress form for demonstration purpose.

  • You loo kinda like Opra....your realy pritty too

  • Hot!!!!

  • what kind of fabric did you use

  • @shaeOres

I used a light weight knit fabric.

  • So my question how do you keep it on without sewing it? Wont come it apart? I guess once you have it pinned where you want it to go you can slide it over your head?

  • @ThickMadame80

I normally pin the fabric to the body enhancer I wear underneath it. This way the fabric is very secure and it doesn't come undone.

  • Beautiful I Love it!!!

  • Wow great job!!! love the material. What type of fabric. Is it Lycra?

  • @artsy282

I just used a simple knit. You can use a any fabric that has a stretch to it.

  • Cute!! Thanks for sharing!!

  • love the dress, gonna make one soon..thanks!

  • Congratulations!!! You go girl!!!

  • Wonderful!!!! Thanks for the great video.

  • Hi luv vid, but i want to ask do i need to use a strechy fabric to make the dress .tnx luv to see more of ur great idea.

  • @ibitoyebimpe

Yes, I highly recommend that you use a stretch fabric. It will give you a more fitted look. You can try cotton or linen but I don't think it will cling to your body.

  • Very cute, thanks for sharing!!

  • another great vid

    thanx!

but where did you get the mannequin from?

and did it cost a lot

  • @MeraGal

I purchased the dressform at Jo Ann Fabric. I spent close to $100. I would encourage you to go to your local Jo Ann Fabric or other arts and craft stores. You can also find them online. Try Amazon and Ebay. You may be able to find a better price.

  • I would love to help you with the website if you would like to move forward. Just message me :) Great project!

  • You are truly talented I am going to try this!

  • Great idea! I was afraid you weren't going to mention what kind of fabric to use, but you said it there at the end.

  • I hit favorite in the first 30secs of the vid LOL. This dress is toooooo cute. Im definately going to try it under $5 thats so me.

  • Very cute dress and love the summer color! I'm inspired....wish I knew how to sew it into place but thanks for making a simple video because we all cant sew. Lol. I love DIY projects!!! You look gorg btw :-)

  • Awesome.

  • Wow thats cute and soo simple. Thanks.

  • it's a really cute dress, but i wouldn't trust a few safety pins i think i would be too self conscious and worried about the dress falling apart and not be able to enjoy whatever i was doing

  • So attractive and very flattering!

Thank you and good luck in all your pursuits!

    Peace! :)

  • nice segment :)

  • I LOVE it girl!

  • your so lovely i love watching your shows. i really can't wait to make one for me as well.

  • I know I can use any fabric I want but what kind of fabric did you use?

  • @gigglingazn

    Hello Gigglingazn,

I used a knit fabric in this video. I highly suggest that you use a knit or a fabric that has a lot of stretch to it. This way it will hug your body.

  • Love the dress D!

  • sexy very sexy

  • Hope your show is a big hit! I can say I knew you back when! LOL Great videos, love them!

  • nice...

  • we can't really pin our bodies....

but i guess we could use the other pin, but idk how safe i feel in this, what if it all falls apart?

  • @viczai

    Hello Viczal,

When I wear the one-shoulder look, stand in front of a mirror and turn to the side to see how to pin the back of the dress in place. You can also try some of the looks I created in the blue fabric.

  • loooove it!

  • love it

  • the dress looks great! love ur energy and positive attitude! so gorgeous!

  • CUTE..

  • where did u get the mannequin?

  • @shoppppping

I purchased the mannequin at my local Jo Ann Fabric Store. You can also find them online.

  • Very CUTE!!! I love it!!! Definitely will be giving this a try!! BTW what type of fabric did you use? is it jersey knit or spandex?

  • @MrsPinkarella

I used a Jersey Knit but you can use any type of fabric that has a good stretch to it.

  • thats cuteee!!!!! (:

  • Hi Diva how much knit fabric should be purchased 4 this dress love it and the color is great Good luck on taking ur show to next level Stay Blessed

  • @skinlikbutta

    Hello Skinlibutta,

To determine the width of your fabric, you will need to measure around your full chest. Next take that number and divide it by half. You will also need to add "10 to 15 inches of ease. For example here are my measurements and this is how width my fabric was. 36in.(full chest) + 18in(half chest) +10 ease(more if you like) = 64inches. My fabric was at least 64 inches wide. Do the same formula for your body and this will let you know how much fabric to purchase.

  • Too cute, I think i would feel more comfortable to sew the garment, for extra security measures, but I love this!!!!

  • I love the color of the dress

  • really cute idea! I will definitely try this!

  • enjoyed the video. I will make me one or two to wear.

  • I love that color is it a spandex type of material? Congradulations on your channel moving to the next level. I love your channel you have awsome videos! I can see this on HGTV and see it being a hit!

  • @queenofweaves916

I used a Jersey knit fabric in this video, but you can use any fabric that gives you a lot of stretch.

  • Really good video.

  • This is HOT Ms. D.

  • So glad you decided to keep doing the Discount Trendsetter show. :)

  • Very Cute!
