Wow - what a body of work; as well as inspiration to the validity of sculpture. I think of these undertakings when working in my humble studio and start to think somthing is hard.
@TheSKYizFalling He is using super sculpy, it is VERY hard to sculpt with for beginners, grey in color, and like all sculpy softens as you sculpt with it.
So incredible, I assumed that the sculpture was a real person covered in pain, but its not. I am not a sculpture artist, mostly a realistic drawer or challenger, but still, I've haven't seen ceramics like that until now. That must of taken extremely a lot of work, effort, and patience just to make it that realistic. Well done.
there must have been so much work behind it, not "only" sculpturing, but also finding out the process... so many abortive attemps... dude you really have to stay cool to go on after a work of weeks is destroyed
This man inspired me to start sculpting....in my eyes he is a genius...who will be remembered long after he is dead.....his visual perception is brilliant long live Mueck
génial.le modelage du ronde bosse mais aussi le moule direct en plâtre , stratifié(isoler la terre avec une résine polyuréthane hydrofuge puis démoulant)avec armatures représentent une grande source d'information .
Some women really do balloon out like that - it does look very big, but she may be in the last stages of pregnancy. It's quite likely this is true because they mention his life-model gave birth while he made the sculpture, which suggests she must have been pretty huge. The sculpture may also be having twins!!
OTOH, maybe he just wanted to refer to the fact that a pregnancy is a heavy burden for a woman to bear..
Argh! Where's part 3 of this documentary? I saw it in full a year ago, now part 3's nowhere to be found. C'mon! I want to see him FINISH Pregant Woman.
I just saw his stuff at the Warhol museum in pittsburgh... it is breath taking.. the spooning couple was my favorite.. you just stair at them and just imagining them jump up at you!
This artist is amazing...my in-laws sent me a note about him and his shows. And finding this on YOU TUBE is great. My daughter and I sat down and watched these videos.
Shitty art, I'm a much better sculptor.

The term, "artist" is just too commonplace for someone of Ron's caliber. He's something akin to "magician".

It say's it in the video 4:52 (shellac). Zinsser Bullseye Shellac is available in North America, though I'm not sure what they use in England.

If you still want to see part: 3, of Ron Mueck, go to clayguy1's channel.
Clayguy1, has all 3 parts at the begining of his Favorites.
You'll also learn a lot about human and equine anatomy from clayguy1 himself.
Hope this helps mate.

even the clay looks so perfect and then other processes are following. you could exhibit the clay model as art as well.
