The creator said Jason wasn't supposed to make it pass part 1. He was not supposed to be a killer. But unlike Chucky, Jason didn't get married and have children. He's been the same Jason since part 2. Wes came back for part 3, but left for good after that. He then came back for part 7 because he wanted to bring the character back to being very dark. Chucky went downhill after part 3 and it was all because of the lame Tiffany doll. It just doesn't work.

Haven't seen anything that indicates it being a comedy; it's by the creators of Saw so should be gory at least. If Brad Dourif is doing the voice could be a good movie. However, if anyone knows anything about Child's Play it was funny in some parts, leading to funny in many part when named "Chucky". I can't wait to see it.
