Well these words right at the start of this song. Is why i hold a lot of RESPECT for Donnie VanZant. We are them old & true Skynyrd fans. Ronnie got record deals for a lot of bands. Some took the break and made they own way. Some didnt. May The Ones No Longer With Us... R.I.P They may be gone. But we still have all the great songs they wrote. So they will never be forgotten
My mom was watching the VMAs in the other room and watching Justin Beiber and Lady Gaga and Beyonce and all the other wasted talent I was on the verge of puking so I had to come on youtube and watch a REAL band play some KICKASS MUSIC! Music might be dying cuz of beiber and people like that but as long as these guys and the other rock and roll gods keep on rocking, ROCK N ROLL WILL LIVE FOREVER.
i have this playlist on my ipod i call Skynyrd Family. Lynyrd Skynyrd, .38 Special, Van Zant, Rossington-Collins Band, The Rossington Band, Allen Collins Band, Artimus Pyle Band, Johnny Van Zant, Tammy Van Zant, Jimmie Van Zant, Blackfoot (Ricky Medlocke) & The Outlaws (Hughie Thomasson). my point is that is the best music ever. long live southern rock. and as for this song. Ronnie, we all love you and miss you man.
saw 38 special 3/5/11 strawberry festival plant city florida when they played this the place erupted it was awesome great song great band 38 special is always a great show
@Tsoftex I changed my mind, so I ll rephrase my comment: "Holy crap, this guitar sounds BETTER than 3 Les Pauls and 2 Strats together!!!! Such a great, melodic and meaningful solo!!!" :P
Hey brother everybody's got an opinion...but, think about this. A successful Fortune 500 company has a plane crash, you work for them...the president of the company is killed...should the company fold tent? Same scenario. Gary should keep it going, and I think he's done it EXACTLY how Ronnie would've wanted. With his little brother at the mic. I think the fact that they're still going has kept the old band in the spotlight as well....my 2 cents....Rock on brother!
First of all I think Ronnie would have wanted Johnny to continue his legacy and secondly. Just because YOU don't like the change doesn't make it WRONG. I think Johnny is doing a phenomenal job, and he has paid tribute to his brother in more ways than I can count. So don't you dare try to make him sound like an ungrateful pig.
@notherbuschlight maybe you should just shut the fuck up. You're talking about a brother riding his dead brothers coat tail. If you knew anything the survivors talked him into doing it. It's a fine tribute to Ronnie . Ronnie would be the first to stomp a mud hole in you"re ignorant ass for saying some dumb shit like you said.
Damn, the Vant Zant boys look the same
