I am a bike rider that has been hit twice now as of Wednesday, launched over a cars trunk. i wear a flourescent yellow waist coat, and a an ultra red full face helmet. My 1984 Honda Ascot has a xenon super brightheadlight. My marker lights are 1157 bulb huge yellow fixtures. I am freaskishly defensive in how I ride I was sure the car saw me, but when the guy said he never saw me when he turned left right in front of me, he was SO sincere that he had to be believed by even me.

@tombud10 I know this is from 2 months ago but I think the actual answer is that it is easy to miss something small that you are not looking for and you have to be more aware of your surroundings to catch it. In this case it was a dancing bear, when you are are driving it could a small child getting a toy or apparently a cyclist.
