Sportsmanship??????? SPORTSMANSHIP?????!?!?!? Officials aren't fucking sportsmen!! The umps a fucking retard and should be fired and his moronic call should be overturned. Baseball needs to have replays available to officials so the right call CAN be made. The players and the game matter, and the umps are less than useless.... they're a burden and this proves it.
What a load of horseshit. That man was perfect. Every major sport except baseball has instant replays! They make sure the call is made correctly. Is there anyone who can tell me why baseball hasn't used it in an official capacity? utterly moronic calls by idiotic umpires can SHOULD overturned and the umpire should be fired.... Technology can be used to make every call correct. And provide a stable strike zone. And official zone that never changes.
@TheWolfpack54 Hey hillbilly. The right call is what matters. The players are what matters. Some blind umpire who's 3/4 of a retard doesn't matter and neither do you, hillbilly.
2:03 Why WHY do Americans love these schmaltzy, vomit-inducing cheesy bullshit lines? Every news report of tv show or film seems to have at least one of these "life-affirming" quotes about love conquering all or some such crap, in that horrible plastic, fake cheery voice, every news item like this seems to end with it, and lines like "I guess sometimes *pause* it's not how far you go in life *another pause*, but how you get there".
congrats to him on his perfect game... to me it still counts. however the mlb is the only professional league that does not review calls or plays... that needs to change.
fuck you jim joyce you piece of worthless fucking shit with your faggot ass facial hair. Go buy an electric shaver and get the hell out of the MLB. My nuts could have called that right and they don't have EYES. Hell you had Stevie Wonder screamin "even i could see that shit!" I'm not even a Detroit fan and this blown call still pisses me off. And now of course Joyce gets millions off of a book deal. Interesting. And fuck the MLB who ADMITTED the call was blown. OVER TURN IT THEN FUCKERS.
I remember watching that game in disbelief . Jim Joyce was the bigger man admitting he was wrong and Armando just a class act he is missed in Detroit for sure!!!
Jim Joyce is one of the good guys. Gallarraga could have handled this 1,000 other ways and been absolutely correct, but the traveled the high road and secured his place in baseball history.
Just a bad situation. Poor ump is tore up. He's an umpire. One the toughest skinned people out there, and he cried. I would too. Galarraga is a class act, too bad he didn't get his perfect game.
Its stupid why the guy commenting on the replay says clearly safe, no duh it will look safe on instant replay with like 1 frame per second, when you are actually there things are happening much much much faster. Also this umpire has been at work for many years, I am sure he has seen many plays like this and in his opinion the batter was safe. Every umpire makes bad calls, this just happened to be placed at a very bad time.
Yeah, I almost hate the fact that this could of gone off without a hitch and we wouldn't have gotten to see this great display of sportsmanship. It's a lesson that transcends sports. This is a classic moment for everyone, not just baseball fans.

Yep, it's a perfect game to me. And I agree that baseball needs to add a review of calls and plays as well.

Jesus xmas you take issue with guys who cheat, steal, who are corrupt and hurt innocent people. Not a ref who missed a call at a baseball game..
