Gr8 swords are awesome in power..but I like something with lethal strike and average to quick speed. I choose the sword or switch axe. But I guess it depends on what kinda monsters you're hunting, the battle area and how big a pack is.

actually there is a major visual and sound difference in the GS charge if you time it right. The energy explodes out (hard to see in this video) as where if held all the way it just sorta trails off your body, the sound also makes that ching noise where if held all the way it makes just the slashing sound.

Maybe it's because I'm using controller type 1, but I don't think it requires precise timing at all. The way your "precisely timed" charge looked was identical to the way it looked when I held it the whole time. Also, Monster Hunter came out for PS2, long before PS3 was ever even thought of, so it wasn't for PS2/3. Just PS2. Backwards compatibility isn't a factor.

I don't think these companies know what they want to do these days, UBI with Beyond and Good and Evil 2, SquareEnix with Star Ocean. SO was suppose to be exclusive to the 360, or at least that's what everyone thought at Microsoft's press conference.

They have somewhat changed the art style, yeah. That's not true, Monster Hunter 3 (Tri) will have online mode where you're able to play with people across states. As well as split-screen which should allow 2 players to play on the same console. No, Monster Hunter 3 (Tri) does not suck.

How do you deal with the camera in this controller layout? In CC1, I always use the right control stick for camera, but always bump the angle up or down by accident and it always throws me off. In this layout, however, the camera can't be manipulated as you are running quite as easily. How do you tend to use the camera in there situations?

Sometimes I need to be able to spin the camera around me while I'm running, but you can't really do that here. :\

Well, as you know I use CC2 and you control the camera via the control pad and can do a quick adjust to your characters direction by pressing the L button or whatever.

CC2 is honestly much better than type 1.

Sorry to say this man, but you're going to need either a Datel Wifi Max or Planex Adapter along with the program xLink Kai or a PlayStation 3 running Ad-Hoc Party to play with people from a distance.

Ad-Hoc Mode is used for playing with people around or near you, Infrastructure is for playing with others from around the world, which MHF and MHF2 does not have. =/

So that's why everyone uses xLink Kai or Ad Hoc Party to play with others from across the world via Ad Hoc Mode.
