Ford and GM wished they had the cummins, they both have had their grief with many engines.Ford still can't nail it. They got that 7.3 working great, then they changed it. Dodge has always had heavy duty trucks and running gear, but maybe lacked in styling intill now.I had a 93 dually 4x4, (old school)I have a 2007 dually 5.9 4x4 now. They saw a good thing back in the 80s with cummins .Fords kept our local front end frame shop very busy for a lot of years, so all three have had adjusting periods!

well, seems gm finally got it together with the duramax, although people don't think much of jap engineering or what not, but the duramax is proving to be a decent v-8 diesel. the powerstroke? well, they the 7.3 will probably go down in history as the best v-8 diesel ever made. unfortunately like everything the government had to put a stop to a good thing and said the motor was too dirty,thus the days of the 7.3 were over. the 6.0, good boat anchor in comparison to all the rest.cummins is #1
