  • this alex levine guy is a hottie

  • Great Job. Kevin Carter is a hero

  • My mom works at the congress hotel. Going 8 years strong. I'm so proud of her. President Obama, stop this strike......end it. Fufill your promise and do what you said you were.

  • It's awesome to see College students getting together with local artists to collaborate on a project with a real message. This video should be a reminder to Obama as to why he was elected. We need to call more attention to not only the Congress Hotel strikers but to workers across America who struggle to live off minimum wage and have to deal with unfair working conditions.

  • I think this video is great! Not only was it greatly shot, it sends a message of community and hope. It's so great to see music delivering a positive message and something that a majority of people can relate to. Raymond was right-- the working class IS the most important group of people of our generation and it's up to us to make a difference. The collaborative effort to get this video filmed and properly done shows the passion behind the message. Great job!

  • Guys did a GREAT job!!!! good luck with everything CANNOT wait for this wednesday's release party (best see everyone there!!) and i hope this is brought to the light!!! :D i adamantly support and cheer u guys on!!!! Salute to the general and all his young soldiers from columbia! fight strong!

  • Great Job Columbia College students and Young General. It's good to see students using their skills to bring attention to a good cause such as this. Hopefully this video goes all the way to the White House.

  • Thank you for bringing this issue to my attention about the strikers at the Congress Hotel. I was unaware of the true issue behind the strike and like many others I used to just walk by in ignorance. These people are fighting for better wages and working conditions. They deserve to be heard by everyone, which is why this video is so great! I am proud to be a part of Columbia College and this cause that we are fighting for.

  • "We're trying to make change, we've got the money and the power, but we can't do much with 8 dollars an hour"

Such a good video. I am so impressed with my fellow students at Columbia, this video is really well put together.

  • Every time I see this video I love it more...when you consider that the mainstream media has NOTHING on unions in programming you begin to realize what a media BLACKOUT is...and how HEROIC these unsung workers really are...GOD BLESS COLUMBIA STUDENTS for making this cause their own...

  • Great piece of work! Definitely proves that you can effectively integrate social and political awareness into forms of mass popular culture such as hip hop. The Congress strike is the longest running hotel strike in America and it's absolutely RIDICULOUS that the workers' rights and demands have been ignored for this long.

  • Great demonstration of how the people can take a stand, be heard, and strive to make a difference. This video demonstrates how creativity is a very powerful tool! Great job to all involved!

  • Definitely a great and creative call to action!

  • No justice. No peace. Indeed!

Love the song! Love this video!

  • Awesome demonstration of the power creativity has in society...great job to all involved in this struggle for equity. Columbia College Chicago students are stirring things up with this video and I am proud to be a part of such a dedicated and motivated group!

  • Really a great video for a great cause. As a student of CCC, I walk by these picketers on a daily basis, and it's amazing to watch them continuously fight for their rights. I wish them the best and hope that their questions are answered, and answered fairly.

  • cool video, nicely put together. The perseverance that the staffers of the Congress Hotel have is incredible, to fight for nearly ten years. They seek a better life that I think they will obtain through their determination.

  • I am so proud to attend Columbia College where CHANGE is our school theme. Columbia did a great job putting the message out there. I knew the staff was on strike I didn't know for what or how long.I am stunned this issue had not be resolved by now. I do agree that since Obama was living in Chicago he need to come back home and try to do something about it. SMH I am glad my history of american working class teacher brought this to our attention.

  • This video sends a really strong message towards these "promises" Obama continues to make. I have walked by the Congress many a times for the past 3 years, and to hear that they have been protesting for the past 8 years, and still nothing has been done, is shocking. I hope this project makes it all the way to the White House and beyond!

  • Holding Obama responsible for what he promised! Great to see students using their talents to create awareness for great causes like this; makes me very proud to go to CCC! Well done guys!

  • Its really great to see students respond to this crisis. Way to go CCC, and Young General spreading a positive message through music.

  • Its so great to see college students get involved with something so big! Its time to hold politicians to their word and remind them what they said. Great job Columbia College and Young General!!

  • great message, great song! way to go general and CCC :)

  • YES! Music with a great message. Let's remind the leaders we elected that they just can't go around saying things they don't really mean. And if they DO actually mean what they say, let's remind them of their words. Are you listening Mr. President?

  • Great video! I hope Columbia College continues to work towards changing things in Chicago.

  • I love this!

  • This makes me proud to be a student at CCC. It's an honor to be part of an institution that recognizes the need to help others beyond campus lines AND can accomplish this while promoting the arts. The song is catchy, too!

  • I love it when Columbia students do some real community outreach and speak out for real problems that exist out there! Young General, keep on going strong!

  • Salute to the General!

  • Grat song, great video, great struggle, great hope.

  • Great video even better message. A job well done my fellow Columbia students/alum

  • This video was created to remind President Barack Obama of the promise he made when he was campaigning. These workers have been on strike for nearly a decade, and its about time to end their suffering. Emerging star Rob "Young General" Watson teamed up to help bring some attention to what is shaping up to be one of the longest hotel workers strike in US history...
