Magnaflow is a quality exhaust system. Performance wise, you’re not going to notice many gains. I believe that’s a result of the r18 engine characteristics and not a fault with the exhaust system. I can’t argue that It sound great. But I’m sure something similar sounding could be achieved with a much cheaper axle back setup.
Nothing evident, Maybe a little at the higher rpm range 4500+ but even 4 or 5 extra hp is not that noticeable. The R18 engines primary design is to be fuel efficient so bolt ons like exhaust and intakes do very little compared to more performance orientated engines. I did notice increased fuel economy.
I would imagine it would have a similar sound (same engine) however the shift points would sound different I haven't had the opportunity to listen to an auto with the magnaflow.
It would sound the same. The EX shares the same1.8l engine. keep in mind that the shift points will sound a little different depending on if your car is an automatic or manual.
wow, what's not to love then, amazing sound, better miles... i'll definitely be picking one up when i get my civic. do you have anything else done besides the exhaust?
To be truthful I'm not sure what the name of the muffler is. it's the only System Magnaflow offers for the 06+ civic at this time. The system included all the necessary mandrel bent piping, clamps, bolts, resonator and muffler. Naturally it sounds much more deep and pleasing to the ear in person, plus no drone at highway speeds. I'm very happy!
@chaddh
It's purely for sound. I might do a cold air intake for performance, thank you!

How much increased fuel economy?
pinoyxrs 2 years ago
Enough to make it worth while. About an extra 25-50 kilometers or more per tank.

This exhaust seems great. Only thing I dont like is the popping noise. Does it always do that?
romecivic 4 years ago
Sometimes it will make that popping sound when I rev match when down shifting. But only occasionally... Personally I kinda like The described sound.
chaddh 4 years ago
Yeah its right around 25 sec. Other than that I like the sound. I have an 07 coupe and I'm trying to find the best sounding system.

will this sound the same if you had it on an automatic transmission??

jjoe8221 2 years ago
The EX has a 1.8 liter SOHC i-VTEC engine. it's made for fuel economy. 140 hp and 128 ft-lbs of torque.

notice any decrease in mileage?
69pen15 4 years ago
The mileage actually increased a few mpg. I have gotten up to 800km (497 miles) on one tank.

Just some SI sway bar, 17 inch wheels and a better sound system.
chaddh 4 years ago
how much did the si sway bar run you?
nd did u notice better handling
athomas2k8 2 years ago
it costs about $125 cdn. I recommend replacing both the front and rear. Makes the car more stable and turn into corners better.
chaddh 2 years ago
front and rear cost 125 each? where did u get it from
also did you really feel a big difference from the stock ones
