  • one of the best songs......stevie wonder is really a wonder!!!!!!!!!....what a genius....

  • I thank God that I was alive to hear these people. Look at the band and backing singers, these people look like they've been together for a long time.

  • awesome...but this is a quiet song where you should hear all the subtle vocals

  • @bertiejr and you wrote the song, so you would clearly know.

  • @elliethousand i'm talking about the instrumentals drowning out the vocals, so stfu and listen to her original rendition and ENJOY the vocals.

  • Oh my God, Wonderful...

  • You r so rite cedjazz

  • What is wrong with the audience? Are they deaf ,with pain in their feet and knees? If that was Kanye spittin on the mic or a sorry vocalist with about 20 dancers on stage to distract from the horrible vocals, that audience would've been yelling and applauding out of this world.

There is absolutely no reason that those people should be sitting at the end of that performance . Aretha Franklin and Stevie wonder are two of the greatest artists this World has ever seen. Most people don't even know

  • Yeah, George Duke also on keys here - great...

  • Detroit representing in the house, yeah baby

Them two Greats together with this wonderful song...!!!!

And such a power- and joyful performance... !!!

THANK YOU sooooo much miguius for this upload... !!!

It delights me everytime I am watching it = very often :)))

  • oowahh, those ad libs and improvisations were the best...george duke was at aretha's back ,playing electic piano,,,

  • @frankmacalino20 music to know nothing those kinds of words be careful u may heart their minds.

  • @DatsDCpW excuse me,but i don't understand what you were trying to say...sensya na po....

  • Probably the two greatest icons in black music...

  • too fierce on EVERY level, a true classic.. aretha, stevie AND this song!!

  • WE LOVE YOU ARETHA FRANKLIN!

  • I love it....i love it ...i love it soooo much.

  • Lord.... y'all pray for the 18 souls who dislike this..they obvious don't know real music, true vocal talent, musicianship, or what a real performance is when they hear and see it. This is one of the best examples of musical magic ever.

  • Gives me chills everytime I hear it......PEACE.

  • George Duke doing his thang.

  • I really love her and love that song!!!

  • 0:35-1:10 (the build up) ....EPIC

  • OF COURSE WE LOVE YOU MISS ARETHA FRANKLIN!

  • I love me some Aretha! And Stevie is the bomb! God bless and keep. Thank you for adding.

  • Wish I could see them both together! Creme de la creme!

  • goosebumps! goosebumps all over!!! its very hard typing while your dancing LOVE IT

  • we'll still be listening to these great music 1, 5, 10, 20, 30+ years from now. I'm not picking on these songs...but these songs, for example: black & yellow, I'm coming home just ain't this memorable because they aren't relevant now and they won't be relevant 30+ years from now. How sad we don't have many True artistes like we had then. Only a few hand full like John Legend and Alicia Keys that still keep it real.

  • This 18th people are crazy?

  • Wow!!!

  • Mr George Duke!

  • Stevie is trully a NATIONAL TREASURE!

  • even in this era of auto tune stevie still believes in the magic of his fingers! amazing! the percussion is breath taking...

  • @meyniak side bar to your comment. do you know that stevie us to use the talk box like in the early 70's? so ironic that the technology that was so invetive is now overused

  • @mjjcng8958 you are right! just saw a video with stevie on the talkbox. interesting....anyways he is still a legend and am glad he doesn't wholly rely on automated accompaniments.

  • even at this era of auto tunes stevie still believes on the magic of his fingers! amazing man! the percussion is breath taking.....

  • we dont have this type of music nowadays....so sad... good thing there is youtube to see this great performance

  • Oooh how I love it. Stevie Soulman

  • Even her speaking voice is full of soul!

  • The song is wonderful! great to see George Duke's smiling face! What a tight back up band! A fantastic production of a great song!

  • The song is wonderful! great to see George Duke's smiling face! What a tight back up band!

  • @FanaticWonder Nope not Ray Parker Jr. and that is a bass he is playing...great song!!! Get well Aretha!!

  • Is that George Duke on the keyboard behind Aretha? If it is, it makes this performance that much better.

  • My song from way back. Love me some Aretha.

  • HONESTLY I LIKE RACHELLE FARRELL'S VERSION OF IT BETTER

  • @Norelleism You've got me confused - Rachelle's is a whole different song, just with the same title (not the one Stevie Wonder wrote). Too bad the titles cause that confusion.

  • Wow, what a wonderful film, such Joy and such a magic combination of Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder having fun and making beautiful music. Home made chocolate mousse for the ears and heart!!! Shame the woman they are singing about sounds like a stalker, perhaps she was just misunderstood? Whatever, Thankyou for positing this and thankyou Aretha and Stevie et al

    Love and Peace

    Helen xxx

  • The Queen sang what

    The genius brought forth

    g

  • was on my way to Nassau when this song first came out -

  • de lo mejor, bravooooooooooooooooo

  • great tune. great pair of icons.

  • Aretha Franklin....Stevie Wonder....ahhhhh, my idea of pure musical heaven.

  • Damn, that woman can sing!

  • Does anybody know what this performance is from? And isn't that George Duke in back of Aretha playing?

  • I LOVE this performance.

  • Three genuises. Aretha, Stevie, and George Duke!!

    Classic performance!!

  • Thank you miguius for posting!! Wish I had seen it live, a great performance and nice to see Stevie laugh

  • Does it get any better???

  • Does it get any better???

  • The Queen and the Singer!!!!! How can this be forgotten!!!!

  • I wonder how is Aretha doing after her surgery?

  • I wonder if the crowd knew how lucky they were to see two of the greats perform together?? Damn I'd sell my best friend for a time travel ticket to that show!!

Aretha we love you and you will be in many a prayer in these coming months to help you beat cancers ass!

Stevie we love you too, hope to see you both on a future tour!

  • They must be playing in a geriatric center. Where is the energy?

  • Glorious!

  • Can someone please explain why this boring-ass crowd aren't on their feet, cheering the shiz-nit out of this performance...before, during and after?!! "Reta" and Stevie tapped on this door...two times!!

  • @a1d2h she certainly is in popularity status but the material is not in the same league. how can if i were a boy compare to this.......never in the creation

  • Does anyone know how to get rid of the check marks in the little boxes on the left of book marks? I have a lot of them even though I haven't "voted" one way or another on the video.

How do I get rid of those videos?

  • chills...

  • @a1d2h yes much better said.. but u know what i meant... lol... im sure beyonce's parents had her singing aretha's songs aswell

  • 2 of my favourite artists. absolute class and talent on that stage, its almost too much to handle!!

  • This is a concert I would have loved to have seen!

  • Is that George Duke there behind her right shoulder on the Roland?

  • @JonP1961 Yes thats George Duke alright, All Legends!!

  • @maoriboy969

Thanks! Indeed a legend. Been a fan of George's for decades. Incredible chops, but his sense of groove is just uncanny! When he and Billy jam together, it's about as close to two musicians 'knowing' each other as it gets!! Tunes like "Stratus" and "Rush Hour"

  • Stevie composed this song when he was just a kid. what kid expresses them self in such a mature maner Stveie should be placed in the same catagory with song writers like Lennon

    and Mccarty he's a genius

  • @DREDWHITEHEAD..that's actually a very astute comment to make because Wonder, McCartney and Lennon aren't particularly known for their singing. What the 3 are known for are their innovative records. I mean the Beatles' Sgt Pepper, Revolver, Magical Mystery, etc, were truly revolutionary in terms of their lush sound. They really pushed the boundaries of what could be achieved in the studio in the late 60s and then look at what Wonder did with synthesizer with Music of My Mind, Innervisions, et

  • he waas a generous song writer and an amazing one at that. this my fav retha song

  • oh my goodness, two greatest of the music....Excelent

  • let da truth be told.... she was beyonce status back in the day

  • one of the fuckin bast!!!!

  • This will always be one of my most favorite songs by two of my favorites. We have got to take care of our Queen... she had a bad fall last week. Bless You Queen...pls make a speedy recovery...

  • what an amazing performance with both Stevie and Aretha Franklin, two artists I have great respect for. thanks for sharing.

  • Yes......YES! This is Aretha in her glory.

  • wow. a few hundred million dollars on stage here! I see GEORGE DUKE up there jammin with Ree Ree & Stevie... and the shot of Kenny Lattimore & Chante at the end put a nice touch on the clip. Dmn, these awards and events really brought together some fantastic talent. SWEET!

  • It's about stevie

  • i love ya!!!!

  • Dukey on Keyboards!!

  • LOVE THE QUEEN AND STEVIE!

  • IT CAN'T GET BETTER THAN THESE TWO GREAT SINGERS... THE BEST !!!

  • Stevie co-wrote this way back in 67 and his version is sweet, innocent and genuine but Aretha just totally re-invented and perfected it with hers. This is a bit slick and showy a rendition compared to the recording but a treat to see the two duet.

  • My favorite singers: Female: Aretha Franklin (U.S.) and Male: Kevin Khoa (U.S./Vietnam)!!!

  • Is that George Duke in the background?

  • @bhayes06 That is definitely George Duke!

  • Yall just don't ....Yall just dont knoooow!!! Gone Detroit and get on down!!!

  • Wow, what a fantastic upload, in content and in quality. Thanks miguius, Peace

  • At 3:27 He said, I am too excited to sing I wanna hear you sing Aretha.

  • what does hey say 3.27? my mother wants to know and i dont understand :)

  • THIS IS THE ULTIMATE SINGER ARETHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA......YOU ARE STILL THE REIGNING QUEEN OF SOUL... NO ONE CAN BEAT YOU ARETHA!!!!!!

  • What a fantastic duo of artists!

  • Two of the best that ever did it ... <3

  • my boy is the most talented song-writer out there.

  • katherin mcphee now owns this song, others should not attempted it!

  • @ronintheusa Lmaooooooo you must be smokin'...I saw Katharine's performance and she did well, but she can't touch Aretha vocally, especially when she was in her prime...so sorry.

  • I just died and went to heaven.

  • <3 you stevie

  • did Stevie have a falsetto? i can't think of any song i've ever heard him use it if he had one. i mean with his range i doubt he needed one, but i seriously can't think of any time i've heard it...

  • Wow.

  • @msephton You took the word out of my mouth.

  • 2 of the greats collaborate.....beautiful

  • John Legend used this music for his song "do what I gotta do". I think it's great that Stevie's music has been so influential in other artist's music. He IS a legend... nuff said!

  • YESSSSSSSSSSS ARETHA!

  • @luvwriting1 Technically he didnt write it for her, he recorded it in the sixties, and thought it would be a bigger hit if she recorded it, and he was rite.

  • Peace fucu41...WOW!!! this was his song!! Did he record it..which album is it on? yeah, she gets busy on this one maybe a little just a little she has Stevie beat...maybe...lol...Peace!!!

  • Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin can still sing well like they did in the 1960s.

  • Holy Cr**, just to hear the Queen speak is music - and then she starts singing. In my mind, there is no better.

  • You know it ;)

  • love it, just love it. es una belleza, la canción, su gente

  • It doesn't get better than this.

    Thank you for posting.

  • Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and George Duke...what a great combination of talent on one stage. Not to mention a great song written and produced by the very talented Stevie. Motown sure has produced a great deal of musical talent for the world to enjoy. I saw Aretha recently while I was in Detroit for a business conference when she sang the National Anthem at a Piston's basketball game. She did a great job as usual.

  • I've missed you for way too long......

  • could it be that your penguin is walking somewhere in Belgium? cuz i think i saw a pinguin today!

  • Though you dont call anymore i sit and wait in vain

  • yeahh people, they're masters of soul, rythm, and MUSIC¡¡..

just feel it; its in the air... FEEL the joy¡

  • Never knew Stevie Wonder wrote this...always thought it was Leo Sayer who sang and wrote it....glad I found out it was Stevie!!!

  • Mind blowing!I wish I could,ve been there to witness that live!!

  • Almost too much talent for one room!

    Go Rea ...Go Stevie!
