wow HE IS HOT! when i read the synopsis i have this image of him as a fat old balding man. now i really want to watch this movie! i'd like to stay at his hotel! :D
@MrThePandaman hitchcock refused to work with anyone but the most attractive and famous of the time. he thought he was above working with anything less.
"IN A WORLD...where good people do bad things...and bad things happen to people...we can all go a little mad sometimes! From Paramount Pictures and master of suspense Alfred Hitchcock comes his most shocking thriller. Anthony Perkins, Vera Miles, John Gavin, Martin Balsam, and Janet Leigh in Alfred Hitchcock's 'Psycho'".
He gets got and put in a mental assylum and he killed because he was so crazy he thought his mom was talking to him and telling him to kill like a split personality
Split personality disorder. He killed his mother, but he thought she was still alive, and he would dress up like her, thinking he was her, and kill anyone in the hotel. then Norman (as himself) didn't want his "mother" put away, and he cleaned up after her like a momma's boy.
he killed his mother because he was jealous when she got a boyfriend. He believed that she was alive, in the back of his head, to the point where he dressed up like her and acted as her voice and movements. But on top of this, he kept the corpse. This drove the mother part of his mind insane and ended up killing everyone.

My mum took me to the cinema to see this when I was about 8 or 9! I've always loved scary movies so she knew that I wasn't gonna have problems with it, but in the next couple of months she would freak out everytime I took the shower coz it was wet all over the bathroom. I took the shower curtain off coz I was afraid someone is behind!
Psycho is an absolute masterpiece - pure film, pure cinema - when you have seen this movie you realize what real sophisticated cinema means - read Truffauts book "How did you do it, Mr. Hitchcock?"
@cap2006Al Well said, so few of today's movies are masterpieces like this. Nowadays people think CG driven movies like Avatar are great even though they lack any substance.
The first time I ever watched PSYCHO my father kept jumping at me and saying Boo!trying to scare me thereby thoroughly ruining my first experience with this remarkable film...something I NEVER forgave him for. Excellent trailer by the way.
Brian DePalma has analyzed this scene: its all symbolic, really. Shower represents safety (people generally feels safe when they're taking a hot shower), and then the murder, it of course ruins the 'safe-feeling', its all kind of Freudian (that is, if you believe this theory). If this WAS how Hitchcock intended it, its genious! but otherwise, its kinda bad, and its definately not '2008-materiel'.
Modern horror wouldn't exist if it wasn't for this film. Where do you think the term "Slasher" came from? So many elements that are now in modern horror, particularly Slasher films originated in psycho. You don't understand the impact this had when it came out. It had really never been done before. Hitchcock was a genius, in both cinematographic and symbolic terms. The idea of invasion of security barely scratches the surface. Nice trailer btw ;)
My freind didn't want to watch the movie. He said that "it looks too old". I showed him this trailer, then he wanted to watch it imediatly. He loved it.
Some people are so close minded as Hitchcock was one of the best and they miss out just because they don't watch "old" movies.
That is when a movie was based on plot twists and acting. Not special effects to sell the show.I know how you feel, my husband is the same way. Missing out on all the wonderful classics
omg i'm 12 and i like only watch classics! my sister doesn't watch these movies cuz she thinks "black and white is boring" i absolutley cat stand it! only my dad and i watch these movies together and sometimes my friends i basicly introduced them to Hitchcock. He's by far one of my fave directors and my friends think his name sounds gross.....
This was an amazing trailer!!! I loved it! I have to say, I really didn't like the original trailer with Alfred Hitchock touring the set - "Psycho" was a confusing film with a lot of plot twists, therefore it would have been very beneficial for him to reveal some of the plot to his audience beforehand. This should have been the original trailer - Nice work!!!!
