  • What does that man say at 7:21?

  • lol at the end

  • NEVER underestimate a mothers natural spontaneous Intuition whhen it involves her child!

What a great great mom to make 50 firefighters get out and dig even when they don't want to.

If you feel its necessary in a kind manner let it be known, they work for you, same goes for physicians who don't believe you about pains in your body etc, its YOUR life and you must make everyone fight for it,if you don't nobody else will unless you live in a buddhist monestary D:

  • that's smart - poking holes in the snow. It might take less energy and give breathing holes. Nice!

  • he just a little boy people. GOSH

  • why wasnt she outside digging???

  • The Police cars are RCMP police

  • I remember this episode when i was 6

  • Who in their right mind would leave a four year old child out side to play unsupervised?? If the sister would watch her little brother more carefully this would probably would have been prevented.

  • Why did they take rescue 911 off the air?

  • @GoodPointpogo Most likely due to low ratings. The ratings took a dive at the end of the 6th season.

  • Episode 622 is a dusey .

  • Kids mind: Neh lets go play with the snow and snow plow!

  • geez, people relax. I pronounce newfoundland, 'newfinland' Pronouncing New.Found.Land, who does that anyway. Just say it in a sentence....trust me, 90% of ppl would pronounce it 'newfinland', its just the flow of it... Like "Im from newfoundland'. Saying NEWFOUNDLAND is like a tongue twister. NEWFINLAND flows better, that's why ppl pronounce it like that.

  • Wasn't there an episode where two boys who were friends got buried in snow while playing outside?

  • @Whit451 Yes, that was "Footfault Avalanche" from episode 610.

  • what channel is this show on, or how can i get hold of some episodes ?

  • @annzibella It came on CBS in the 90's, but was cancelled in 1996. I don't know of any channels that show it anymore, and there are no DVD releases.

  • please don't leave young children unattended!

  • that kid is cutie pie

  • 5:10-5:33 i had a lump in my throaght

  • poor kid

  • he is an idiot i would never aproche to trucks working in snow cuz u get burried in snow and then dead i think that kid got a lesson

  • He's not an idiot.. he's a child! Seek therapy.

  • wow seriously hes 4 years old he doesnt know any better...no need to call the LITTLE boy (TODDLER) and idiot...

  • The child is about 5 years old, his brain has not fully grown yet, of course he does not understand that it is dangerous to be near the the truck. I bet that you thought it was fun to watch on large vehicles working in the snow when you was about 4-5 years old.

  • Damn that snow is deep

  • oh my god iv found him lets all poke him really hard with our shovels.

  • Well, I don't Blame That Young Girl. When She Said That She Doesn't Want To Have Kids Of Her Own.

  • more than 70 minutes?!? MY oh my! that kid has got to be dead, but he wasn't. wierd.

  • poor little boy if i was his big bro i wouldve went outside wit him hes to little to be outside alone

  • once i saw a cat on the that was lost for 1 week but my mom was very sick so we could not have the $.

  • Why would someone let a child that small go outside by theirself to play.....

  • wasint the loder operaters fault

  • If you get trapped under snow, if you can move your head around to make an air pocket. The snow will filter air through, slowly but control your breathing and you can survive for hours. The longest snow burial survivor that I've heard about was buried for just over 9 hours. If you are able, move your fingers and toes also, this will keep blood flowing to your extremities and will slow the onset of hypothermia. Do not panic, you will use too much air too fast if you do.

  • @OneSkiWonder you forgot that a small child can die from losing heat too quickly. Children are very different from adults. their bodies are much smaller and therefore can lose heat quicker. Also they arent as strong as an adult, so moving the snow to make air room is a lost hope.

  • i want to know why the sister let him go out alone? he's only 4! and since the snowplow is working, they must live along a road or parking lot or something. this kid reminds me of my son who had ADHD - you cant take your eyes off him for a minute! and no matter what the weather is, a 4 year old has no business outside alone. forget the snow, what about cars, perverts, mean dogs, whatever. even just him wondering away.

  • الحمد لله على السلامة والله يهدينا ويهديكم...

  • Copied from a translator... pathetic

  • Is that supposed to be the writing that's on the ring of power from Lord of the Rings?

    A bit out of place....

  • It's Arabic, zazawaksj is from Saudi Arabia.

  • Actually, I was born in Grand Falls and in that very same hospital. Ive lived in Springdale ever since then.

  • this isent "New Finland" Shatner its NEWFOUNDLAND! geeze apart from making us a blob in most of youre maps you Americans cant even pronounce the name of our provence right!

  • You do know William Shatner is Canadian, right? ;)

  • William Shatner IS Canadian & that's how it's pronounced in Central Canada. By the way, if you want your critique to be taken seriously, you should check your spelling. ie. province, can't, your, isn't, it's, and so on.

  • William Shatner's Canadian.

  • So would I say New-Foundland or New-Found-land??

  • loool. you've got a point there :P

  • Well it may shock you to know that Shatner himself is Canadian.

  • You assclown, William Shatner IS Canadian.

And if you're going to critcize how someone says the name of a province, then spell "province" right

  • @MetalSanke you do know that much of our language originated from yours right? We changed the pronounciation after the revolutiopnary war as a way of showing dislike towards teh Brittish. Learned that in History class.

  • Babysitting my nephews made me grateful I had only one child.

They're good boys, but they're also pistols.

  • I'm glad I have no children. My wife has 2 grown kids & 4 grandkids; the youngest grandson isn't 3 yet and he is a handful touching everything but he is really alot of fun. The older grandchildren (much older than the youngest) get really spoiled rottin by me.

  • Really nice rescue story.

It reminds me a winter in elementary school when a group of kids dug a tunnel through a big mountain of snow. The tunnel was about 5 meters long and every kid got to go through it!

Thank God nothing happened! Finally some teachers found out and close the tunnel before any accident happened.

  • 6:10 he says if u feel Bobby hit harder!!

are they trying to kill him?

  • No, that much snow packs. You could be just hitting some well packed snow and start digging in the wrong place. While hitting harder may cause additional damage it's really the only way to tell if you are hitting more snow or a body.

  • This kid is really cutie pie

  • i cant believe the family had to reinact this

  • insaneapples they probably didn't "HAVE TO" reinact this. They may have wanted to, to help make others aware of the dangers. It's sad that it takes and accident or even a tradgity to make people more aware of such dangers. But that seems to be the way of life.

  • They didn't have to, they chose to.

  • i used to LOVE playing in the giant piles of snow that the snowplow made. that was my FAVORITE thing to do when i was little. his older sister should have been watching him. she should have been checking out the window at him at least. but either way, its amazing that they found him. wodnerful people.

  • I loved to play in it too! when I was a kid; playing football in the snow was fun too! Yes, no matter what, do get someone to check on you even just looking out the window. What a cute sweet kid he is.

  • I would have beat the shit out of the older sister, who was apost to be watching him in the first place. I hope the mom gave her some good beating and her ass locked up in jail

  • hey u would go to jail so u should be nice to people

  • poor guy

  • hmm... if i was a kid i probably could have found better places to play.....

  • shulda got a dog to dig em out

  • yeah you go and find a trained dog while he is laying down there..

  • good idea

  • glad that he lived. parents should of set a boundary but u can never know what a 4 yr old boy would do.

  • Those snow plow contractors are always not watching what they are doing. They work to quick.

  • Well they could work extremely slowly and still wouldn't see a little kid on the other side of a snow bank. :P

Working too quickly has nothing to do with it. They should have made sure someone was watching the blind side of the bank or maybe not piled it up so high but there's only so many things you can do on a budget. Just an accident is all it was.

  • The snow contractors can't see on the other side of something when the snow bank is bigger than the cab.

  • four year olds outside alone....no way

  • really, what were they thinking!

  • omg i stoped it at 1:17!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Jelica3: Yes I also do that!

  • i live in grand falls windsor plus i know that man mr.mackenzie hese daughter is in my class i swear!

  • I'm still glad that he survied

but how the hell did that happen

    GO JESUS!

  • ohh thank god that lil boy lived. it was definitely the power & love of god that kept him alive

  • A WINTER WIERDO LAND!

  • Winter WONDERLAND, you moron!

  • no shit asswhole !

  • omg

  • What an idiot of a mother. What an incompetent fool. Another example of parental incompetence and should've lost her child to social services and never got him back, ever again. I'd put her sorry a** in jail.

  • The mother wasn't even there when he got buried. His sister was babysitting when he got buried.

  • dosent matter she was there when they were digging for him . she was just standing there not doing shit.

  • I think he was blaming the mother for the fact that the boy got buried in the first place.

  • private dork... you do realize that this is just a reenactment. she was just standing there because this isn't live footage. why not get mad at the camera man, he wasnt digging either. loser

  • nobodys perfect its hard to be in 2 places at once and who are you to critizie someone elses parinting NOBODYS PERFECT!!

  • Watch the video before you make a dumb comment.

  • holy shit i thout he was dead =C

  • well not threating but making fun of us cana... well u know this is 4 my last comment to marinst1

  • hey are u threating us canadians? u think were all afraid of snow how would u like it if u were trapped under snow 4 like and hour and i would be like to u! ehem... hahaha

  • lol damn it gotta suck to live in canada and be afraid of snow hahha

  • This is a good animated ambulance intro. I don't remember that intro. I remember most intros and that's not one.

Also, decent episode. Quite a miracle, considering how long that kid was buried in that snow.

  • i went to newfoundland a few years ago... was so pretty but was def snowy, wouldnt have even thought something like this could happen

  • omg when shes holding the teddy it just makes u want to cry =[

  • no it doent....................ur a wimp

  • and you're a heartless asshole, lacross

  • He just jumps off the chair in the middle of the interview. LMAO!! Cute kid.

  • it made me cry =(

  • I have this as a story in a Reader's Digest magazine.

  • I lived right next to where this happend, since then franky and his family have moved away. My brother new him i was to young to have none him when he was four.

but i remeber seeing this episode on tv when i was younger and i have it taped off.

Also the reason the snow pilesare made that high is because they have no choice we get ALOT of snow here. :)

  • why would you make a pile of snow that big

  • the quote I remember from this segment is bring your snow shovels, you don't fight fires with snow shovels.

  • She said that he was out there for ten minutes not thirty.

  • i cant believe any one would let a 4 year old outside on there own anyway without fences up

  • where is the episode on the kid when he passes out in the car?

  • How long ago did you put him out?

sounds like she's talking about a dog...

35 minutes is a long time not to even check on the kid

  • LOL no.. and by the way the answer was 10mins.. NOT 35 minutes :)

  • GO OUT AND HELP DIG LADY!

  • i was thinking that, if that child was someone very close to me id be out there diggin with all the strengh i had

  • nvm his name is franky. and why would he wanna stab harder when they felt bobby?

do they wanna kill him or soemthing?

  • the police says if ur digging and feel him, you have to stab harder.

    hes trying to kill him

  • He's saying, that if they hit the bottem then the little boy isn't there, so it's not worth shoveling. If they hit something, then they need to shovel there, since it might be him. They aren't trying to hurt him obviously, just trying to find him faster.

  • He said if they hit bottom, don't shovel the snow.

  • a 5:54 to 6:00, he says that when u feel bobby with the shovel, hit harder

  • an hour and 10 minutes and still alive

  • is this real footage?

  • No, it's a re-enactment.

  • I think it's to much to ask people to try to understand that fact lol

  • y not keep an eye on him looser!

  • I remember when this episode first aired. I was only about 7 at the time... Now I'm 20. Brings back lots of good memories about this show. That kid was so funny at the end of the episode. "Be careful when you play in the snow, because it may bury you up," (pause...) "That's it!" and he jumps off the couch! lol :)

  • if the kid was that young, i think she should have kept an eye on him

  • rescue 911

    17 years season !

  • now when they were lookin for him why didnt they start diggin toward the ground!hes not that big and if u look close to the ground, they would have found him faster

  • That's what I thought. I was hoping the actual rescue effort was better organized than the reenactment (which looked like people just stirring the snow around--starting at the very top!) but since it took 70 minutes, I guess it wasn't! Why didn't they concentrate on where the footprints were?

  • wow

that would suck if i got under the snow

  • go to tvshowsondvd, com and vote on rescue 911 to come out on dvd, rescue 911 has 435 votes going for it

  • My mom would cry if she couldn't find me

Then when she found me she would hold rock and cry

  • i think her tears would be f happiness when she found you

  • Yeah That too

  • I agree what what everyone is saying she should have been watching I hope she lost her job, You never let little kids out by them selves untill there at least 10.

  • Wasn't a hired babysitter...it says in the beginning she was his sister.

  • half-sister.

  • Shadowwolfz and happy,

You took the words right out of my mouth! Frankie is indeed the only one I recall who jumped out of the chair after being interviewed. Just goes to show you that kids are more anxious for those kinds of things to end than adults!

  • fU&*()Babysitter never NEVER Leave your kids UNWATCHED!!!!!!

  • This just comes to show you that you really should be watching your kids.

  • No supervision spells T-R-O-U-B-L-E!!

  • my town is just a hours drive away.

  • Thank heaven for your mamma Frankie.

  • *chuckle* "That's it." He's got to be like to only person to ever leave the commentary chair on this show during commentary.

  • Probably wanted to go out to play, and was sick of being asked questions about what happened!!!

  • Hey, this happened where I live! Down on Bank Road, I believe, just behind the Legion. Haha, I know the Fire Chief Vince, too. =]

Me and my friends used to watch this show all the time years ago, and I can remember this episode airing and talking about it with them. =] hah

  • They really speak with a distinct dialect in

    Newfoundland.

  • Yeah, we're like canadas verson of texas. Everyone else thinks we talk funny haha.

  • Dude that happened in my old hometown! hahaha
