It might work on a PDA or small tablet/netbook type device, but never a desktop. I like with Windows 7.

yes... especially on that machine... I bet windows 7 wouldnt even be able to run it :S

During the presentation it showed a chrome os machine boot up in 4 seconds... I dare ANY windows machine to do that!

Windows 7 definitely wouldn't run on it, and XP only barely works. Chrome OS isn't looking like a bad option.

I run Windows 7 RC1 on my Eee 701 4G right now (I do have 2GB of Ram, but that is the only difference between that and the day it was bought). Currently building ChromeOS - did you have to do anything special to get anything working?

That's a 2G Surf in the video, won't run Win 7.

There wasn't too much to getting it running actually, just getting all the dependencies together and building. For the 701, you'll need to make and include your own Ralink drivers I think.
