yeah, they had to rework the instrumentation for the runner's four song when satomi switched back to bass - the basslines are typically a lot simpler than how chris played them.

i've been searching for more videos with this lineup. i miss the lumbering, improvisation style that chris had on the instrument.

People like Deerhoof because Deerhoof is awesome. It has nothing to do with hipsters. I found them because I heard they were similar to Blonde Redhead (one of the best bands ever). Maybe people are tired of hearing the same tired bands over and over and are actively seeking out something new and amazing.

Well, Tony Tennile is actually a damn good singer, she had a very nice solo album. BTW this is a really good DH vid, I have seen all of them on YouyTube - isn't there anything better? They are so sorely under-represented on video. Also, Satomi is almost always way too far in the mix.
