This is an internet based system, the only requirement is that they have internet access, I am sure you are aware that ALL hospitals, pharmacies and doctors offices have internet access.Currently most ambulances now have internet access too.
We have the highest level of security available, your information is just as safe if not more safe than any banking system.
Thanks for you question, and if you decide to start a PHR with us use this promotion code "FRIEND" and save 10%.
Are these cards accepted at all hospitals, pharmacies and clinics? Or do I have to check to see if my facility is one of the chosen in a network or linked providers?
Nicole, If your card is lost/stolen you have two options.
1. Login to the member dashboard area and under "manage ER-IDcard" cancel and re-order a new card ID yourself. You can then print a new temporary card to carry with you until the new on arrives in the mail.
2. Call our 24/7/365 Customer Care line and we will deactivate your lost/stolen card and re-issue you a temporary paper card that you can print out and keep until your new card arrive in the mail.
I am currently an intern at AHIMA. My experience here has enabled me to develop an understanding of the importance of maintaining a PHR. I like the concept of the ER-ID card, but as a consumer worry what would happen if my card was lost or stolen. Who then has access to my personal health information and how will that information be used? All of the privacy and security risks I have recently learned about makes me a bit reluctant. What measures do you take to prevent these types of risks?
