  • Great guitarist and teacher, wow

  • Wtf.. my guitar doesn't make any noise when i slap with that D that u said i have to practise hard. Maybe ur meant to actually only slap the E string?? Thanks im practicing hard.

  • Hey Adam!! I know you get lot of questions but I really would appreciate your advice!!

I want became a guitarist like you are, im 16 years. What is the most importing thing to reach my dream, i mean what kind of stuff is really importand? Your soo cool guitarist!!

  • Anyone finds that playing the open D with the right hand index finger while slamming the right hand thumb is just more effective, and easier ?

  • @cheul I do it both ways...and my advice - try everything until you find what works for you!!!

  • O men were can I download de PDF with how to learn this version of yours (Superstition)... by the way awsome work im trying learning seeing you playing that great

    maltedmilk@naver.com

  • @RamblingOnMyMind did i send you? didn't know you answered x)

  • i love the way you teach it seriusly thank you it helps me a lot !

  • Hey, is this standard tuning anyone? Thanks

  • awesome but what about the rest of the song? :)

  • wihtout tabs its too diffucult to understand

  • Man, you are not only a great player, but you are an excellent teacher! Very relaxed, clear, articulate & concise. Thanks so much for these lessons!

  • Hey there`s a lesson for exactly the song I wanted to play! Thanks!

  • very good lesson! thanks!!!

  • wheres the rest of the lesson??

  • fuck the messages on the screen como on

  • Hero. Love it.

  • thankx man.. excellent work..

  • wanted to learn ur arrangement, and here it is!! vid goes along GREAT with the tabs, and helps understand them. amazing job!! keep up the great work!! I'll be listening!

  • awesome. makes me laugh every time i watch you immersed in a world of funk. how can one man exert so much groove?!

inspired to pick up my guitar and practice again

  • That is so helpful, legal or otherwise!!

Thank you so so so much ;)

  • That is sooooo helpful, legal or otherwise!!

Thank you so so so much ;)

  • I am curious to know what you did that is "illegal". I was not aware that it was unlawful to post tabs for music that YOU arranged. If you play Fingerstyle you no doubt know who Micheal Chapdelaine is, and I purchased his "Come Togerther" tab along with others from his website. I get the feeling you got strongarmed to take it down when you really didn't need to. All I can say is... I hope I can find it online somewhere else from a 3rd party that uploaded it, the video simply dosen't work for me.

  • @SpikeAndersson Anyone putting up tabs for a song they did not write will be in deep deep doo-doo. It is unlawful. Just google tabs/ copyright infringement, and call Hal Leonard if ya don't believe me...

  • @scabsareus huh?

  • @crescentridge the hammeron with the drum beat is really tough because i stop the hammer on string from vibrating when i tap. any extra tips? thanks !

  • Thanks for this. I just bought your dvd; can't wait till it gets here!

  • Adam is a good man to share so freely and what a player

  • Cool

  • so i followed the link and the bullshit alert starts ringing as soon as i'm prompted to join a mailing list, and lo the 'free tabs' are no where to be found

  • Hey, wait a sec. At the time of filming this there were tabs and I was alerted by the authorities that it was highly illegal. They were taken down immediately. I went the high road, had to work through a mountain of paperwork and did a legit DVD. I left the lesson up for those interested.

  • its lucky you're a pimp on the geetar else i'd be outta here

  • Exactly what Adam said. He wants you to learn the theory behind it. Granted, I am not good with that theory, but he wants you to learn that, instead of memorizing the tab. I did the same thing with the Vitamin E blues tab. Thought I was getting exact tab, but got the theory behind it instead, with a bit of guidance tab. I am glad I did, 'cause I have figured out my own version, instead of leaching off of his. Keep it up Adam [but send me the tab ;-)]

  • i was wondering when i download this

what program do i uping up to see this

like do i use the progrem notebook?

  • This has got to be one of the best lessons on the internet. Very valuable tips, even though the entire piece isn't explained in detail.

  • il defiantly be learn this after i finish Igor Presnyakov's Califorication, which is also outta this world, thnx for the vid Adam much appreciated keep up the good work man

  • lol at 2:55

    You gotta have that DOWN!

  • instead of hammering on the d note on A string, which can be unclear at times, pull off the E note on the D string to the open D. rather easy and a lot clearer than hammer on. just a thought. on ya raffy

  • @DocSixString ... that makes playing that so much easyer and sounds alot clearer good tip doc..

  • You really are!

  • u r the man

  • As other did , I just signed up for the newsletter. Great video. Keep those coming Adam. Hope you include a tab in the newsletter for this song. Thanks Adam for all You do! Regards!

  • i must have more! i just singed up for your newsletter, is the rest of this vid or the tabs on your site?

  • my head hurts...

  • you sir, are a resourceful and inventive guitarist, amazing job, much soul in that riff!!!!! i used to do more percussive type playing like this, but kind of forgot about it over time. SCHOLAR!!!!

  • great teaher . and a easy listening voice. Beond my guitar playing ability, but still great! *****

  • haha, this guy is mad!

  • Franchement bravo

  • Great guy, person, no ego!!! Thanks for sharing your Lesson and music...

  • I just don' get the first melody part technically...

    Help me Jebus!...Mr. Rafferty!!...

  • What Planet Are You From Again? :-)

  • cool stuff! quite a challenge. I am going to start messing around with that thumbpick

  • does anybody have the pdf of this lesson ???

  • ok, Brother that just oozes soul. great job.

  • slapping with the thumb, cant do it with a thumbpick!

  • Thanks for all the hard work, nice job great lesson.

  • you have the groove man, very nice way to explain the feel, nice videos, thanks

  • it's so nice to be able to go to youtube and actually be able to hear music, it seems music today doesn't need to be in songs any more, so props to you for not letting the music die

  • what a nice guy. you seem like a cool dude and you are fucking first rate on the guitar. i salute you big time!

  • Hi Adam, you are a STAR ! -absolutely love your lesson, cool, to the point and very motivating. you have made my week ! I get right on it ! cheers ! (from Berlin)

  • THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE LESSON =)

  • i just showed this to a friend of mine and was saying it's really cool that you decided to do this.

so yeah, just wanted to say i appreciate u puttin this up.. and i just checked out ur rendition of superstition and billie jean, and you're flippin ridiculous dude. great stuff

  • "...It's not about being perfect, it's about groovin'..." There's a guitar lesson in eight words.

What original stuff do you have? You must have a nice CD's worth of your own music going wild in your head. The lessons are great, but man, you have your shit so tight, I just want to hear you play.

  • Hey, thanks for the comment! Yes I work on my own music as well of course....thank you so much. MOre music is on the way!!!

  • This is brilliant. You're a great teacher.

  • does anyone have the tab.. he took it off =(

  • What mic are you using? That thing is ridiculous!

  • I think he is using reverb.

  • Thanks Adam. I ran across this while just messing around. It got me back on the guitar. I hadn't played for months. If it helps anyone, I'm having an easier time pulling off to an open d instead of hammering on the a string to a d. Adam, I cant thank you enough

  • Taylor 314ce-?

  • I'm not one 100th of your talent and knowledge but one hammer-on note is missing in the riff.

  • then upload your version please ;) oh dude im searching so hard for any tab of this but i just cant find any... PLEASE ADAM, ADD MORE LESSONS! PLEASSE! hey all please spam him with requests for more lessons, i mean they seem to be legal so i desperatly want more of them!

  • Hey Brother! Thanks for the enthusiasm. It's getting closer, please hang in there. I am ironing out stuff with the publishing companies and will do a legit DVD and tab book combo. I know free tab on the internet is more appealing, but the lawyers are shutting guitar teachers down on youtube and elsewhere, so please hang in there. I will announce when the thing will be ready! Be well! - Adam

  • Thanks for your generosity...U THE MAN!!!

  • Keep It Groovin Man, Much Love! Awesome!

  • hi adam i wanted to know if you had any tips on getting a good sound using your fingertips, do you build up calluses on your hands? is there a certain way you pluck or a sweetspot on your fingertip? any advice would be great and i love your playing thank you!!!

  • dude 2.05 you are so knowing how hot your version is right there.... so good good bro keep the tutorials comin your my new guitar hero!!!!

  • ok chill maybe go back to Australia or something cause im not saying hes a bad musician because hes really good i just thought he should deliver on what he said, but i now realize all the stuff about copyrights.

  • I'm chillled, esp while listening to Adam's grooves. Btw I'm from new zealand not australia 'mate' lol.

  • is there anyway 2 play w/o thumb pick

  • so you said there was free tabs but that was a bunch of bullshit cause your too scared that someone will get you into trouble. Well dude your a pussy look on the internet theres tons of tab out there stop being a little bitch and just put it out there! other wise this was a sweet video and a good job with the song.

  • Hey Bud, sorry if you think I am not following through, but just go ahead and look up "tablature copyright infringement" on google. Oh and by the way tons of guitar teachers are getting shut down on youtube for showing tunes like "Hotel California". At the time of making this vid, I intended to give tabs away. I am now in talks with Hal Leonard & EMI to see if I can do this legitimately. Thanks for you comment & your understanding.

  • He has gone out of his way to break his own arrangement down step by step for our benefit, so be grateful mate. You need to try and do it without the tab. It's very easy to call someone else a pussy, but it's not your livelyhood on the line is it. Absolutely amazing stuff, I'm going to buy a thumb pick tomorrow.

  • Thanks dude!

    great job!

great gift for all of us!!

  • if anyone was lucky enough and early enough to get the tab for this (he can't legally give it out anymore) could you please send it to me?? i'd be forever grateful :)

  • thanks mate

  • Hey Adam, Thanks so much for this lesson. After 3 days of practice, I got it almost down, I just need to play it a little faster ... it's coming ! Again thanks, this is great !

  • thanks you have a great talent for instruction as well

  • whoa i thankkk youuuuu very much. :D

  • no, yes you do have to finish the lesson! you will help me get in to a music school that I REALLY WANT TO GO TO! (a)

  • OMG! You HAVE to finish this lesson! Well, you don't have to, but it would be really awesome if you did :-) Tabs suck anyway.

  • Superb!

  • Many thanks Adam for your generosity and time and funky playin'. You make it look soooooo easy! All the best to you. Hope the tabs become available again sometime but hey this is a good start.

  • AAAAAAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHH

  • mate, you're a legend !

can't believe how generous you are with all this ... its all about the music with you. n that's how it should be .

    keep it up buddy

    Matt Price, Syd Aus

  • adam man i really love your stuff. my guitar teacher put me onto you about a month ago and ive just been hooked. im buying gratitude as we speak and as soon as first impressions is back in stock im getting that too

i love the way you've built up your own personal technique with the melody and basslines sussed out perfectly.

i look forward to your future covers and i cant wait till i can get this riff down and grooving.

take care and keep it up.

  • Thanks alot, greatly appreciated!

  • hey man really gutted, no tab, still signed up tho. good work.

  • Thank you Adam, this is a real gift you've given us wannabe funksters here.

I'm going to check out your other materials and website and hopefully pay you something back for your generosity.

    Peace!

  • Thanks a lot for the tabs, man, excellent job!

  • Im unable to play after my Guitar got burnt :(

  • You're truly incredible! Not just as a player but also as a person! What an amazing gift to give!! (I love that technique that you sussed out, by the way ~ I'm going to have to put in a good amount of time practicing to get that down! I can't thank you enough, not only for making my ears happy but for giving me a way to stretch myself as a player!) "Thank you" seems too pale to use here!

  • i found instead of hammering on to the a string on 5th fret u can just do a pull off on the D string on 2nd fret, basically u get the same sound

  • Very good teaching ! (and playing !!!)

    Waiting for part 3 ...

  • Hai, brilliant, loove the groove, thanks for the lesson Adam. Top Man.

  • Great vid! I will be learning this! Are you by any chance son of Mr Gerry Rafferty?

  • That is freakin' awesome!!!!

  • Hey Adam, what you do...it's speechless!!! I play the guitar myself - in a low level way - and I already do your "She's leaving home", lerning from your video. And I can say you gave me a pleasure for learning to play like this. This Superstition video is great. I'd seen Pete Huttlinger's video for this song and I think that is wonderful. But you put a swing on this. The groove and the feeling, as you said. You are awesome!!! Thank's for grooving the music. And feeling the people.

  • tnx man gud version, n lesson

  • Hi Adam, You're an amazing person! The seemingless endless time and energy you spend to help other people enjoy (playing) music is just unheard-of.

You're a good man, you truly inspire me, thanks for that!

    All the best,

    Jeroen

  • BIG THANX TO YOU!

  • Well done my friend !

    Thanks for your efforts !

But will I be able that this wonderful arrangement will sound on my guitar ? hmmmm?

    kindly,

    wolfgang

  • Well done, thanks!

You are a thorough and patient teacher.
