  • R.I.P Vista cruiser ;(

  • I can understand why the car dealership was de-identified for this scene.......not good for buisiness!!

  • This isnt the car we ordered!!!

    Hey.....take it easy Russ.

Ed- this is NOT the car we ordered!!!!

  • Damn Eugene Levy was good in this....Chicago car dealer/con man. Very good and underutilised actor. The "Truckster" was actually better looking after it had the front of it smashed off by the crash later in the movie.

  • who'd wanna drive all the way to Dallas?

  • No idea why people beat up on salespeople so much, YOU have the ability to say NO.

  • @badgerbuddy i got a matchbox car of it so dont worry :)

  • That is the most retarded advertising I`ve ever seen.Jupiter Chev = - - - -! What does that have to do with a customized Ford wagon in a movie?Der.

  • Jupiter Chevrolet, why don't you ALL go collectively fuck yourselves? Huh? Could you do that for me? Thanks.

  • poor vista cruiser

  • Looks like a Chrysler dealership where this scene was filmed.

  • Love this movie.

    Thanks.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • Like I stated, you guys are akin to lawyers... only not as smart.

  • Eugene Levy is awesome.

  • they crushed the car like a pancake!!!!!!

  • Exactly what type of car was Clark's old car? I'm thinking Oldsmobile.

  • @MrMatt4163 I think it's an oldsmobile vista cruiser.

  • @MrMatt4163 1971 oldsmobile vista cruiser

  • "Ya think ya hate it now....but wait'll ya drive it." THAT was awesome!

  • As "far fetched" as this scene may seem, the American auto sales and manufacturing industry was not that far from this. Why do you think Asia did and still is kicking our butts in the auto industry. Which I find personally very rewarding because what 90% of what the American auto industry did in the past was purely criminal.

  • :-)

  • What I always hated about this scene was that car dealerships do not destroy trade-ins like a scrap yard. What a joke the whole thing is. Also, if you look at the background in this scene, they are at some office complex, not a car dealership.

  • @GhostOfBugsy Uhh I've sent many trade-ins to the scrap yard.....what else are you going to do with a zero ACV car?

  • sorry mr griswald i watch bbig bang theory during your crappy thirrty rock allegiance

    liberal douchebag

    /watch?v=KgVAdukH1mw

  • 14 ppl didnt get a blue super sports wagon

  • clark is always tells rusty to take it easy and all he said was this is not the car u ordered

  • @SuperKeychains quiet down Russ

  • LOL cool video! Thumbs up

  • This HAS to be the funniest "opening scene" to a movie of ALL time! I love Ed saying-"You know,I owe it to "myself" to tell you,Mr. Griswald...." Classic words for EVERYONE to use at their job when asked about ANYTHING urgent-"I don't know, sir"! (then turn and WALK AWAY!)

  • Ive always wanted to see what the optional rally fun pack was??!!

  • I would have sued the place for destroying the old car, as they had to know they didn't have what I ordered. Then they provide a rental for FREE so I can do my vacation and then I get what I paid for when it finally DOES show up. Bait and switch BS. Looks cute in a movie, but in reality it's a dick move.

  • @Probitas1 You would only be entitled to the actual value of the car. If it was being crushed, I'm thinking that would be less than $100 lol

  • sure you do it's done all the time..the ol' we'll take your keys so you can't leave and the ol' bait and switch.

  • it's done all the time..the ol' we'll take your keys so you can't leave and the ol' bait and switch.

  • LOL I love this scene XD

  • I love how 'Davenport' just says, ' I don't know sir ' . 'I know what must have happened, it didn't come in.'

  • One of the greatest movies of all time.

  • The optional ralley fun pack :D

  • i feel sorry for the other wagon that got crushed

  • i wouldv'e been like "ok ill wait 6 weeks, gives me time to contact my lawyer."

  • You think you hate it now... wait until you drive it.... you'll loathe it!

  • Metallic P?? I ordered Antarctic Blue!!

  • 80's movies always had a black guy who had to take orders... just like "Porterhouse" in Caddyschack.

  • Metallic Pea........LOL

  • A scene where Eugene Levy isn't playing a nerdy father

  • davenport cracks me up..........

  • You didn't order the metallic pee?

  • you think you hate it now... wait til you drive it. lol

  • @xledzepplinx He didn't mean it like thaaaat.

  • Is this the guy from American Pie?

  • @geodeuce Eugene Levy

  • The one grizwald orderd is in the background

  • audrey don't eat the family truckster

  • Damn! Look at those glasses.

  • u kinda get the feeling he would have gotten the wagon because the car salemen gets everyone's name wrong lol

  • You think you hate it now but wait untill you drive it.

i dont wanna drive it i just want my old car back. lolololol

  • "We would never do this". C'mon, this is probably tame compared to what you guys have done. Car salesmen are akin to lawyers, only not as smart.

  • @20alphabet Maybe in the United States. In Canada we have to be certified, licensed, know what we're talking about and are heavily regulated. Walk a mile in our shoes then make that comment.

  • What could the "optional rally fun pack" possibly be referring to?

  • "You think you hate it now but wait till you drive it " PMSL

  • So it's practically jew acting as a jew.

  • @Quex01 You sir are a antisemitic douche bag.

  • @jcpennys7 call ADL

  • "You think you hate it now, just wait til you drive it" :D

  • 2:34 he even tried to open the door lol

  • The metallic pea.

  • Leave it to a Chevy dealer to try and get some free advertising by posting copyrighted material on Youtube.

  • *Sports stupid-looking glasses.*

"Ed, I'm not your normal everyday fool, ok?"

  • what is this movie called

  • @crazefreek national lampoon's vacation :)

  • Yeah u would do that! Fuck chevy! Assholes!!

  • "Davenport!"

     "Yes, Mr. ED."

"I owe it to myself to tell ya."

"If ya think ya hate it now, wait till ya drive it."

  • i think everyone isn't noticing something... like how AWESOME Clarks suit is

  • @J0nesStreetBoy

he must like anarctic blue since the car he ordered is probably about the same color as that suit, lol.

  • @grandprix1963 " I don't wanna drive it. I just want my old car back. I'm not fallin for this bit."

  • Makes me cry, seeing a Vista Cruiser crushed. Great movie though!

  • I dont know sir.......?

  • "This is the automobile you should be using.

    The Wagon Queen Family Truckster.

You think you hate it now, but wait 'til you drive it"

Now that's a smooth talkin' car salesman :)

  • @grandprix1963 Today, any teen would prefer walking over driving THAT... thing... to school. They'd probably drive it straight into a brick wall just to get outta being near it again.

  • this part is very funny, and also this part is filmed in california no chicago, because

you can see the palm trees in the background.

  • @mark00159 Filmed on Brand Boulevard in Glendale, to be exact.

  • reminds me of bernies when you'd buy something and they gave you something else...

  • metallic pea?

  • I love the double head lights and the double tail lights. A damn fine automobile.

  • DAVENPORT!!!!

  • I've been buyin' cars for 37 years. Know what? They ALL do this!

  • This dealer is Star ford in Glendale california, Not in Chicago

  • Davenport, were Mr. Griswolds car? I don't know. Lmao!

  • the wagon queen family truckster

  • Metallic Piss

  • They just don't make movies like this anymore.

  • You think you hate it now, wait til you drive it!

  • LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL

  • would red forman trade his vista cruiser for the wagon queen?

  • @randomhero713 LOL I bet he would...

  • HAHA Danny Dock special lol

  • Rubin Right !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The wagon queen family truckster is a heavily modified ford country squire

  • the Carsaler is Eugne Levy :-)

  • sweet vista cruiser..:-( and Ive been looking for one of those

  • To the dipshit under me..(snotra)..this is a hollywood made car based on a early 80's ford or buick..not a real one..american cars trash?..watch barret -jackson auctions in january ..see how the value of the trash is going for..you dont see any euro trash there..

  • it's a 1978 Ford Country Squire

  • I always have thought that the front-end of this big-old green bitch looked like a deformed Oldsmobile Toronado.

  • Its a Ford. Country Squire LTD

  • I know that. I was just making a comparison.

  • id be calling the cops if i was Clark

  • The fact that you have to say "We would never do this" makes me suspicious. I'll take my business elsewhere. Now go get my car.

  • "DAVENPORT.."!

  • the best movie of all times

  • You may hate it now honey, just wait till you drive it!

  • Poor Vista Cruiser... LOL

    Great movie!

  • I LOVE the family truckster, underated movie car, take the car away you got no movie.

  • i hope this guys parnts are proud

  • No, of course you wouldn't do that... You would do it worse!

Hide the keys which is the equivalent to destroying the car driven by the potential buyer in order to secure the sale of a lemon.

  • Yup. So true

  • "take it easy rusty" i love that line lol

  • I love this movie ^.^

Who would've known it foretold the future!

  • Metallic Pea? Awesome.

This movie was the my childhood. That and Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.

  • Any dealwership that participates in the CARS program is basically doing the same thing. Preying on the lack of education and ignorance of the car buyer.

  • Yikes. Reminds me of the silly cash for clunkers stuff, except the fluid that is forced into the engine of the traded in car to seize it, then, they crush it. Its a shame. I love the clip though.

  • lol, i bet Clark's driving a Honda now.

  • I would have tooking the bus home until they got the car I wanted. the trip would have been put off till 6 weeks. that ugly thing would have never never ever left that lot with me...no!

  • "Ed.. now, I'm not your ordinary everyday fool okay. Now, where's my antartic blue?" hahahah

  • How did he not notice his car was smashed until he reached for the door?

  • It's called typical Chevy Chase... overacting for added humor.

  • no its not, the car salesmen is Eugene Levy, a canadian actor/comedian.

  • No it isn't. The car salesman is Eugene Levy. He wasn't in Good Fellas.

  • that's the crappiest car in the whole world

  • Now it looks like a Cadillac.

  • you mean the front end? but minus two sets of headlights.

  • Eugene Levy cracks me up!!!

  • @WCD73 he's hysterical with his look.

  • I think it's really fucked up how the jupiter chevy thing comes in at the end. Kind of makes me LIMP!

  • mr.davenport were is mr.griswalds car?

    i dont know

  • you didn't order the metallic pea?

  • NO, ANTARCTIC BLUE!

  • I want to spanthis video. lol
