It isn't "global warming" but "climate change". Global warming is a populist term that doesn't adequately describe the matter. Climate change, with all the connotations of increased climate variability (ie wilder storms, quieter hurricane seasons) which is the bigger concern.
I recall that storm with some fondness. We're x-c skiers and this was just a perfect way to extend the season.
Gore is such a tool ( the guy gets rich off of saying the earth is warming because of global warming due to mankind, without it, 10000 fake scientests would be out of a job) When it comes to global warming, a few idiots scream the sky is falling and everyone becomes a hippy. This is another issue brought up to make money like, Acid rain, war on drugs, and now have you heard people, 3rd hand smoke? LOL Now apparentely the smell off smokers clothes can make you sick LOL
Its funny cause Al gore uses big numbers which mean nothing at all to me an you...sure you can do your part and be the hippie environmentalist...but most people still drive big SUV's to work, over use electricity, throw out things we should recycle...so what's the use figthing a losing battle?
I say Just ride with it and enjoy all the extra snow :)
First off - I have lived in Ottawa my whole life and this is the most snow that has ever fallen in such a short period since 1971.
Now I might be unedumacated in many aspects of global warming but I feel the world has it's own agenda and we're just along for the ride. We might speed things up a few years but that's about it...
What the hell does Al Gore have to do with Canada?? lol And for someone else that posted, we didn't actually break any records this winter. People talk about climate change... well, the records for hottest day, coldest day, and most snow fall in one winter were set in the 40's and we still haven't beaten any of those records. Funnny, doesn't seem like climate change to me. lol
I live in Ottawa too! Was this not insane?! The snow in my backyard is almost my height and I'm 5 feet 5 inches! By the way, your neighbourhood look familiar... which area of Ottawa do you live in?
It's a common error among those who are ideologically bound to denying the science of climate change. They confuse WEATHER (what you see out the window) with CLIMATE (which you can't see and is a longer trend). Global warming is causing climate change, which means more weather extremes at both ends of the spectrum, which can include unprecedented amounts of snow. I know, nuances like this are difficult for mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging, spittle-flecked cretins, but we can always hope.
Hey, i feel ur pain.... I'm in ottawa 2 :@ here is the video i made.
Yay thnx global warming, its so warm outside... i'm getting a tan sitting outside. Yea, i have a hard time believing in GLOBAL WARMING when we get 51cm...
record snows this winter ... record tornadoes ... the rushie neocons call out for more global warming ... but already a chunk of ice the size of texas in antarctica is heading for the sea to raise the sea level by 10 inches ... the rushie neocons want more of this polar ice to be dumped on you during winter ... they want the arctic and antarctic ice to melt completely and be completely dumped on you ... that's a lot of ice ... the ice in antarctica is 20 miles deep

@Mnkyballz A very George Carlin outlook well really. That's an outlook that a scientist or a person with simple logic really.
There's more than one planet...they got there and are still there today....we're doing our part and will evolve or die off..or both.
