Gotta love the editing here. The GTO takes the Chevelle off the line every damn time and not by a small margin either. And look at the size of the guy they put behind the wheel of the GTO!! LMAO!! The GTO blows the chevelle away in each of the race scenes, 1st run 3/4 length lead after about 100ft and the 2nd one completely destroys the chevy.. That is until the fat guy lifts in the GTO. Hey if I'm seeing this in 66' , I'd be thinking of buying a GTO, not a chevelle!!!
I loved it, I now own the Chateau Slate/Tuxedo Black 66 SS 396 my dad bought in 66 off the dealers turntable, was great to see a vintage anything on my car. Love to see more.
Is this what Don Draper is going to be thinking up at the beginning of next season on Mad Men? Or more appropriately, Chevrolet hires Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce after the fire the firm that made this ad!
Nice. My first car was a 66 chevelle. I now have another one that is modified to run with the best of em. I love the style and sentiment of this car. This video was awesome fun to watch. Thanks,
Now THAT'S how to sell a car. I used to own a 66 malibu convertible, wish I would have kept it now........sold it in winnipeg, canada, if it's 4 sale, i'd love 2 have it back.
I was just 1 year old in 1966 my parents then had a corvair. But in 1967 dad sold that to buy mom a brand new grocery getter, the all new 67 camaro. Which I got when I passed drivers ed. weren't them the days. Today I still got my 70 ss chevelle thank god I kept that car. thanks brancrabtree for the best post yet

This is a sad example of the "beginning of the end" for GM, as inter-division politics started to tear the company apart.
Even with that being said, I'm surprised that Chevrolet was allowed to publicly one-up a product from its sister division.
