Long live rock n' roll!

  • Steve Gadd fuckin rocks.

  • God, Oh, God !!!

  • ESPECTACULAR CANCION, GENIAL SOLO DE GUITARRA , PUFF ESO ES EL ROCK N ROLL , PA ARRIBA.. ATT JAIRO OSEJO

  • combinação perfeita... teclado Hammond e Fender Stratocaster....

Perfect combination... Hammond Keyboard and Fender Stratocaster Guitar...

    Clapton + Preston...

  • Excelente Videoo! :)!

  • i didnt know this song till i sow this live and a few second after he start to play the melody...i started to cry...to say " i love this song" is very simple but " i love this song"...

  • @elkardz1 overrated my ass. No one is better!!!

  • Eric Clapton is an overrated guitarrist, but ok... it's good to have millions of fans.

  • @ElKardz1 you sound like a real hater, didnt you hear the song??? respect for Clapton.. he's king!!

  • @ElKardz1 listen to the composition of this song. smooth and chilly at the beginning. But you can at every point feel the crescendo he's doing during the whole song. Instrument for Instrument joins this song by the time. can you feel the emotion he's trying to show? I'm sure you can't!

the crescendo starts very slowly at the around third minute, and it's rising and rising till the absolute eargasm while his big solo at 6:40.

and you wanna tell me a creator of this is overrated? go die off!

  • @TeeAgesWorld

I get it if no-one else does!

  • best version!!

  • this guy just killed the whole music industry, justin bieber is out of job-homeless

  • This version is great, how could I disagree. And only few artists in the world are able to come even close to the emotional density of the perfect moment when they originally recorded their song way back in the studio. Nevertheless I still prefer the more quiet fragile atmosphere of the studio version. Especially the ending of the live version is a little too much in my opinion. Growing this loud is just a bit over the top for me. Less would have been more here...

  • eric clapton el mejor!!!!!!!!!!11111

  • One of the most incredible musicians ever! And this is one of my absolutely favorite songs of all times!

    He is just so great!

  • This is from One More Car One More Rider.

  • Can anyone tell me what concert this was from?

  • Eric Clapton gives me goose bumps.

  • That solo have so much feeling in it. WOW!

  • The best version ever, the most beautiful solo, and i can't describe what i feel about seeing clapton and billy preston playing together!

  • my favorite version of this song! Just enough overdrive on his strat to make it sing clearly!

  • @DavidCasper .. hmmm... It must have been a song from the Creme days that sounded similar. Yes, I do remember the Wonderful Tonight song and Layla. It was a Wonderful time.

  • 7:33 to 7:37 is like a 4 second

guitar clinic a good player could spend a lifetime studying and never master. It is easy to see why Eric was called God even in the company of Beck, Jimi and Carlos.

  • Heart rending solo, and my God, My God, what a band! That doesn't hurt!

  • GreatestClapton song and greatest version ever.

  • A much better song than anything else Clapton has done in the last 20 years. This should be as popular as anything he has ever done. This is the kind of heartfelt, soulfful song you can't hear in today's cookie-cutter mainstream music scene.

No gimmicks or bullcrap here, just pure soul and feeling.

  • Bought this dvd a few years ago, but havent watched it since. Now i found out that it's Gadd on the drums. wow

  • is there a dvd of this?

  • @pdec91

Yes: There is a DVD of this and a live CD. Both releases are called "One More Car, One More Rider!" - so named after a popular customer call on English Fairgrounds to entice a customer to take the last empty space on an amusement ride, a Dodgem Car for example.

@ tman4u2: The "old guy" on drums is top-call Steve Gadd - one of the world's finest.

    Cheers.

  • @pdec91 yes, it's called One more car, one more rider.

  • 100% feeling.. long life clapton!

  • Beautiful song... I got to slow dance to this song with the Love of my Life back in '76. Didn't want to realize it back then... How prophetic the song would be.

  • @ghosty426 No you didn't. It wasn't written yet. However, you might be thinking of Wonderful Tonight.

  • 4:15 is unbelievable

  • The old man playing drums makes this one work - and Clarton would be the first to admit it. Then you got Billy Preston - forget about it! This is Clapton's favorite kind of tune. He can feel like a sideman even when he isn't!

  • this guy is grooving.. long life to slowhand eric clapton!!!

  • Coll

  • Truly a masterpiece.

  • Impresionante, Don Eric Clapton.. Imposible hacer una canción más bonita que ésta.

  • 0 dislikes...

  • A GREAT ERIC CLAPTON, fabulous music, stuning sound (thanks Robert Collins engineer of Concert Sound of London and JBL VERTEC line array state of the art sound system) at the organ HAMMOND B3 (a real B3 on stage) Billy Preston.. still a fine player!

  • E.C. IS TRULY BLESSED!

  • where's this concert?

  • @kokobirra : This is from the "One More Car, One More Rider" dvd/cd and was shot in Los Angeles. By far the best performance of this song when compared to the others on YouTube.

  • This is the best live version of this song. The singing, the playing, the solos, the musicians on stage (Eric, Gadd, Preston, East, Fairweather-Low) and the perfect audience :)

  • @leozingy Totally agree, this is the best version I have heard so far. Tears my heart out every time, so much talent and emotion in one package. And what a legacy the incomparable Billy Preston leaves us behind - may he Rest In Peace. Incredible

  • i think this sons is best song in hi`s songs. i like My father`s Eyes too.

    kanagawacity in Japan.

  • someone give that man more frets

  • 9 minutes of total plesure.

  • @camillafrida PURE PLEASURE!

  • His drummer looks so old and slow, but he is a fucking BEAST on those drums! And Claptons solo is so fucking amazing.

  • Staples center LAX.

  • Clapton is still god and always be.

  • Absolutely love this song, and this is by far the best version online. Billy Preston is amazing and Eric just tears it up.

  • where's that concert? I need this DVD

  • @kokobirra I have one, I dont know where?? but the dvd is " One more Car, One more Rider".

  • This is the best video of this song. Billy's organ solo just adds to the greatness of the song too.

  • My favorite song...

  • Anyone that said Eric aint still got it is crazy...I cry everytime I hear this song

  • Incredible...just incredible. I had listened to this performance before and I found it absolutely stunning, but now I've seen this video of the song and "rivers of tears" have run down my face because of the beauty of the song itself and... damn! they put all their soul into it!!!

  • I've never heard this song to now. Love it... absolutely love it. A master. Brilliant!

  • Where Eric was playing?

  • @Fadestron Staples Center, Los Angeles - August 18th, 2001

  • Steve Gadd playing double bass pedal - PRICELESS

  • MIND BLOWING EPIC SHRED!

  • We are lucky that on 30 March 1945 a MASTER was born ... Keep rockin' man !!!!!

  • @mazjazz1 well-put!

  • @mazjazz1 Well said, sir. Well freaking said.

  • beautiful song.. i feel like crying when i listen this song.. it`s one of my favorite..!! go on eric..!!

  • How epic can you get? Wish I could write songs like that.

  • The DVD One More Car One More Rider was the first DVD I bought after getting my 5.1 surrond sound system. do yourself a favor and get the DVD and listen in 5.1.

  • I wonder what the modern day rock and pop stars think of their place in the greater scheme of musical excellence after watching this? 6 monster talents like these come rarely, and all on stage at the same time. You don't get goose bumps, you don't get it.

  • Couldnt say it better!

  • @lcoping One word--"Captivating"

  • This song is amazing !!! I can enjoy this so much !!! Thank you !!!!

Bedankt vanuit mijn hart .... van/from Belgium

  • 6:13. R.I.P. billy preston

  • amazing blues with fabulous Eric Clapton's sound, stuning Hammond organ, and JBL speakers great sound on tour.

  • What makes our hearts beating? What makes our eyes and legs shaking every time we listen to it? Buddies, may is Billy Preston moving his magic fingers upon that fuckin hammond?May is Steve Gadd with his fantastic touch on that drums?Or may is Eric Clapton building a fantastic solo on a fantastic song he wrote himself?Really I cannot give you the answer you're searching. But I feel a shiver on my back EVERY TIME I listen to this song and I think that is the music, only language everybody speaks.

  • @abbamax: Well said man! Really well said! Everytime I listen to this masterpiece I'm so high!

  • Very nice!!

  • That solo...beautiful

  • beautiful song.........

  • If you like the sound of the guitar(who wouldn't) just get a clapton signature strat, a fender tube amp and an ibanez ts808 tube screamer. you don't really need the tube screamer because of the midboost system in the guitar but it does sound nice :)

  • scarey cause the begining lyrics describes my home town

  • this was so nice and sad to hear when we played it in my uncle's funural

  • Which concert is this one???

  • this song is from

"One more car, one more rider"

  • this song is off the "pilgrim" album actually

  • this is actually off of the one more care, one more rider dvd and cd.

  • all right. but the song itself was on "pilgrim" first which was released in 1998. "one more..." was in 2002. this gig has to be off the "one more.." dvd then.

  • You are right, it first appeared on Pilgrim, where it, like everything else on the album, was so lam, unemotional ... Eric + computer ... give me a break ... this version from One More Car, One More Rider, is the real Eric, great playing, great singing, real emotion

  • worlds best song..

EC is realy a great master

  • that's not real,is a dream...just a dream

  • Thank u for uploading this song...

    absolutely incredible

  • THANK YOU, PRISS.

  • The solos are fucking INCREDIBLE. I've almost never heard a more emotion-filled solo before. LOVE IT.

  • @JohnnyRockerman The only thing I can compare them to are Gilmour's solos like the one from Pulse (1994), Comfortably Numb.

  • @JohnnyRockerman That's what Clapton does!

  • I totally agree that this is the best version of this song by a long big fat mile.

Everything, and everybody comes together in getting the song and their instruments to sing like few songs have ever been sung.

  • those two guitar solos give me goose bumps

  • Eric Clapton is a fantastic guitarist/musician, one of the best of all time. This is the best version of this song he's done, I never get tired of listening to it! Being such a great musician allows him to have the most talented group of guys in his band. Everyone of them is outstanding!!!

It's such a shame Billy Preston passed away he was a talent the likes of which you won't soon see again. RIP Billy.

  • I have this show on DVD. It features Billy Preston prominently. There is a great version of "Will It Go 'Round In Circles" on the DVD that you HAVE to see. Nathan East is simply the best too.

  • Man Clapton, Preston and Gadd are amazing in this. The emotions they show are just unreal. Look at Gadd at 6:40 , 7:30 , 7:44 and 8:09. He really works the drums. Also great work on the cymbals. Beautiful solo by Preston and as ever Clapton takes it to a standard that no one else could with an absolutely magnificent solo which brings out the superbly.

  • Dit is super !!! Dit is genieten !!!

The best version on you tube.

    Many thanks from Belgium !!!

  • I love that embellishment on the last "river of tears" lyric around 5:55 or something. It's really cool.

  • This song is from the live cd "one more car one more rider". The dvd is even better - they replaced some of the tracks on the dvd and I just don't get it =P but still a super fantastic cd

  • Amazing.

  • Aweome Vid!, Do you have any idea when and where this was performed?

  • The recordings on this album are from two nights at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, August 18th & 19th of 2001.

    from wiki.

    wow, pre 9/11

the world sure has changed since then

  • I was at this show - fantastic.
