Met Bill when I was working in radio in Maine circa 1980. He told me his story of walking away from an Atlantic recording contract because they wanted to put him in spandex. Shortly after I saw him play an outdoor show in a cow field in East Benton shortly after this album came out. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to meet him and experience his music.

One of the great great bands that never made the big time. I think I saw him as a back-up band in New Hampshire or Maine in the early 80's with the J. Geils Band. Only saw him play once but bought Dime Store Heroes the next day and still have it -- spinning right now. Great stuff!! Queen Of The Lower East Side still gives me chills. Sad to hear he his gone.

was at this show in mexico(i live right down the road)saw biil many times at the barnboard and red stallion inn..great shows..friend owned the red barn and still had a pile of posters from when bill had played there..i have a few of them..remember seeing him at the barnboard with gene drumming and sammy hall on sax...great shows..rip legend of the north country

One of the great Jersey Rockers. Was the front man for the Downtown Tangiers Rockin Rhythm and Blues Band. They later got another front man after Bill left Jersey. His name was Bruce Springsteen. The band became the E Street Band. Tony smith is the drummer in this video, was the drummer for Jeff Beck and Jan Hammer live tour and teaches in Boston at Berkeley now. Jjohn K is the bassist and played with Cindy Lauper and David Bowie. Awesome players. His harp playing was straight from the gut

Chinnock was the BEST! Such great energy in his live shows (even better than this later video). We definitely miss him here in Jersey as well.

bill chinnock was the greatest he would play his heart out, he was a great blues guitar player, he could play anything ,,he was the best and is missed up here in the "north country" but watch the videos check out bills web site learn the truth about the legend of the north country....

He said he walked away from an Atlantic Records contract because they wanted to put him in spandex and big hair and play pop. He may have ended up with less audience and money but his music has soul and integrity. Miss you, Bill.
