many very good bands have "Masterminds" the ones that make it all happen. a band needs all the right people to make it sound right, but think about it this way:
If you switch out Daron with any other guitarist in SOAD, the music would be about 95% different.
Daron makes about 95% of all te stuff, but it would not be SOAD without the others. it would be scars on Broadway. And he never said anything about being more important then the others, he just makes more music.

@Aethinus that's not exactly true. they havent taken that much time to plan anything big yet, that's why they said "no master plan of sorts". they want to play together again, and that can mean anything now. that could mean temporarily or for a few years. stay uptaded to their website and we'll find out what will happen to system in the future.

@Aethinus They didn't even mention a Hiatus on the main page in the first place. They just said they're doing shows and they thank the fans for waiting and being loyal. They also only said there's no master plan for anything new, and just want to play AS A BAND. If you do not know, a hiatus is a temporary break until any further notice of a break up or reunion. You may notice that they said they want to play as a band again... that means an end of a hiatus, for they are no longer on a break.

Daron is ranked as Guitar World's 30th best heavy metal guitarist.
There is no comparison between Daron's lead/baritone/electric skills and Serj's occasional acoustical guitar contributions.
Seriously you know jack shit about this band if you're seriously saying that Daron "sucks very badly" as a lead guitarist.
Daron has played guitars since he was in nappies. Serj's main skill (aside from vocalizing) is keyboards, which he started out as.

Stop picking sides between Serj and Daron, because you haven't seen in their perspective, so I wouldn't judge unless you were really there in the band. Another thing is stop saying that one or the other should be gone or whatever, because without the other, it's not even system of a down, is it?¿ Both of them make it a band, not just one. This band was formed from both of them together, not just one, so how can it end with just one.

Serj is obviously a way better singer/songwriter than Daron. If you don't believe me, compare the successes of Serj's solo career with Daron's.

@CoFMinion Serj is more successful for one reason: He was the lead singer for System. To many System fans he was the face of System; when you thought of Serj you thought of System. Serj is more recognized and known then Daron or John, so of course his solo album is going to be more successful.

@mr207 thats true but I think that Scars On Broadway had a style that reflected much more SOAD effect. Serj has better vocals, but Daron has a much better style.

@CoFMinion I don't believe with you... Daron's been busy, he said so himself, so he couldn't make many albums and tour like Serj did. Another reason I don't believe you is because Daron (in this interview) said he wrote almost all the lyrics for SOAD, which is much better and larger than what Serj has done. Although, I really do like Serj's CDs.
