what an inspiration Back to Eden is. I can not thank you enough for sharing that with us. Not only for the gardening, but for reminding me to put my faith 100% in God, which I don't always do. Thank you, thank you
Great video. However, if you truly wish to be prepared, you should consider moving deep into the country and go off grid and be free from governmental control.
@DigitalPraise7 I could do that. However I do want to be by family and be of assistance to others. I feel I can prepare sufficiently for my family where I live. It may be harder but doable.
I saw your video a few months ago and haven't been able to comment, but after I watched yours I ended up later watching the back to Eden film then have since gotten my back to Eden garden started, but I really think this will help your garden a ton. Thanks for posting the video
Thanks so much for sharing this! We have heard of a similiar method but never tried it, then after seeing your video it was a "ah ha!" moment! There it was again and just when I'm about to start planning next years seed buying with plans to expand our garden, I happened upon your channel after watching another prepper's (lauriegirl2) video submission to you. It's wonderful how what we need always appears. Thanks again!
@LDSPrepper ,Kill the grass by mowing the lawn, by that I mean dropping the lawnmower blades down as close as you can to soil and ripe into the lawn...Never dig in Wood chips which is used for mulch into the ground as it will absorb and depelete nitogen from the soil starving the vegatables of nutrients. Kind regards
@bilaczenko Good idea about mowing the lawn as close to the ground as possible. I agree never till in anything into the soil again. At least if you are using this method. You want the tree mulch to compost above ground. That way it enriches the soil not depletes it.
I didn't see the Eden movie, but this is almost exactly how I made my first garden in 1986. I read about it in an old Organic Gardening magazine. When I moved to my current home, I called a top soil guy and he brought me a big truck load. The dirt when down on top of the newspapers and I had a huge pile of fresh compost after cleaning out the barn and hauling in bags of raked leaves. I also add lots of peat moss to my soil. This really is the best way to make new gardening space.
Be careful people!!! This idea is amazing and so important now with everything that's going on!! However be mindful of the fact that the government is spraying chem-trails which is not only hazardous to people but will be devastating to all soil over time - which may be part of the purpose of spraying in the first place. My advice would be to store soil in a basement and or garage if you have the space so as to 100% guarantee useable soil. Be well and safe everyone! God Bless all of you!
@0lCerebratel0 If that is the case then this process is even more valuable because the tree mulch completely covers and protects the soil. I believe that if what you say is true then doing this will keep the soil fertile.
I hope you're right sir!! With that many layers it should be very beneficial but keep in mind water can drag trace amounts of chemicals down into the lower layers. I feel this is intentional as recently Monsanto announced they are developing a seed resistant to aluminum. For more info look up the YouTube video "Killer Chemtrails: The Shocking Truth"

Count us in!!! Paladin Prepper has even covered our entire front yard! The backtoeden film resonated so strongly with us. It spoke to our spirit as it were and we knew the moment we watched it that what Paul was saying was true. It's all so exciting. Love you ending...the motto in our own home..."If ye are prepare, ye shall not fear." Thanks for this inspiring video.
I loved that film so much I purchased a couple of the DVD's so I could have one, and send one to a friend. It is outstanding. Needless to say, I now have boxes and boxes of newspaper sitting all over the place just waiting to get down on my property. Good thing my daughter and son-in-law work for the Washington Post huh? LOL I can't wait to get it started, and with the grace of God, we may have some more good days before the cold hits here for good. I'm so pleased your doing this, it's Fantastic
I want to thank you for this video! I went and watched the movie. I've been doing the mulch thing for years with my flowers, but everyone said oh you can't use wood mulch on a veggie garden....well i'm going back to what I was doing before because this movie showed me that I was on the right track with my flowers and need to do it on the veggies too!!!! SO THANK YOU!!!
Would unprinted newspaper work better...no ink into the soil...many Newspaper Producers sell or give the ends of the roll, and there is plenty on it...
Preparing to Leave North America though...It's South for me prior to 2013 (Prayerfully)...
@LDSPrepper Ink used to be a problem, however today it's not harmful at all. this is fact. I know many have heard horror stories from the past, and it was true, however they don't use anything that will harm you anymore. Now with that said, there are magazines that still use heavy chemicals, but it's mostly high end magazines with high end photos in it, and they are few. Last, careful, the cardboard does leave air pockets that will cause problems, it's on the site, so be careful with that.Bless
I'm with you, brother. Great video.NOW is the time for every wise prepper family to watch the Back to Eden movie and get that mulch down so it will be on the ground through the winter and ready for Spring. Those who will hear wisdom will watch the Back to Eden movie and immediately get a testimony of the concept. Remember: "Time flies on wings of lightning, we cannot call it back."
Thank you so much for posting this video. We have an organic garden but I used to till it with a shovel every year (about 10 hours of labour) and we would still have compact soil and a fair amount of weeds. I am going to try this method next year.
@TheConspiracyRealist I don't know why but we all just want to till this into the ground. I showed this to my brother and his first questions was, "When are you going to till it?" I love how little work this method takes. And that the wood chips are light not heavy like dirt. They are much easier to work with than dirt.
I too watched this film and in fact ordered a copy of the DVD. I am so excited about this method and am chomping at the bit to try it out. PaladinPrepper turned me on to it and I am SO glad he did. Thanks for the great video!
We are in the process of converting about 1/3 of our community garden in McDonough, GA to this method. Last year the garden demanded constant watering and produced a bumper crop of weeds! Next year we'll have raised beds, self-watering buckets, and wood chip mulch methods. Good luck with yours!
Thanks brother will check out the film.. But, I love my St. Augustine grass.. :( our soil here is like your soil there.. Poor at best.. this will help me in my garden for sure.

I'M INSPIRED! Hey, in Paul's video, he said to lay down soil as well to plant the seeds in. Maybe I missed it. Did you add soil too?
imasurvivornthriver 3 months ago
@imasurvivornthriver If you lay down compost (soil) then you can plant immediately. I'm letting the mulch decompose then I will plant in the spring.

I recommended the Back 2 Eden film a couple of months ago on my channel.
I have had 5 or 6 truckloads of woodchips delivered to my farm since then.
I believe Paul's method is the way to go... especially in TX with the droughts we have been having the last few years. Keep up the good work.
Also... sorry about your beehive. I lost 2 hives out of 5 myself.
