She does not haunt the castle. Her spirit stayed around to watch over Elizabeth. This story of Anne (and quite a few others) are told for entertainment value, as she has became a pretty big part of pop culture. Trust me I should know :)
@thebackgroundartiste Yes, she was originally slated to be burned. A very common theme of execution for those accused of witchcraft. Beheading was said to be that given to a man of high regard. Anne was one of the first known woman to be beheaded in England (atleast credibly recorded) Anne requested a swift death and Henry granted.
This is so wrong. Anne did not request to be executed by a sword, Henry ordered her to be executed like that! RIP, Queen Anne Boleyn, and her daughter Queen Elizabeth Tudor, the best Queen's of England we have ever had.
@DrawnToTheFlame13 Actually, Anne did request the executioner of Calais and death by the sword. Otherwise, she would have died by the axe, per Henry's decision. She was either to be burned or beheaded, per the king's pleasure.
@MrGeorgefoord yes she did. She held Henry off for seven years, and finally gave into him just before he broke with the church in Rome. Which was BEFORE the Pope's decision came down in favor of Catherine. Anne was pregnant when she married Henry.
small problem with the ghost of anne the actually section of the tower she was kept in no longer exist the section they claim was her chambers was not really it was a victorian creation " the anne boleyn rooms" so i doubt her fake chambers are haunted by her seeing she was never in them
Let God have mercy for her soul. She prompted Henry to break with Universal Church. Her guilt was so terrible as Henry's.
Henry's blood was leaking from his dead body And dogs were licking his blood exactly as was prophesied by a monk. This monk told the king in face if he continue to persecute the Catholic Church then dogs would lick his blood as they licked king Achab in the Old Testament time.
Anne's spirit stayed behind and watched over Elizabeth. Sure her spirit lingers of a sort but it does not "haunt" it. The theory comes because its mystical sounding, as with the tudors dynasty in general. Thus it has become pop apart of pop culture.
He made a mistake he married Jane Seymour 11 days after Anne lost her head. Also I highly doubt Anne had an extra little finger in her left hand. It was probably rumors spread during her life and propaganda spread after her death.
Yeah,I reckon if I was facing imminent execution I'd have 'mood swings',most of them being the screaming ab-dabs.She surely learned that being in an exalted position didn't guarentee protection from Henry's wrath. She may well have been an ambitious shcemer, but then most within Court were no different to her. They all did what was necessary to keep the king's favour. She,like many, paid the ultimate price.
Really cool video! And I too agree with the posters who say Anne was not a witch, nor did she have six fingers. There are some that say she had an extra fingernail on her pinky which some believed to be an extra finger but remember also Anne's enemies were the ones mostly starting the rumors and stories so we cannot much rely on much of what was said.
Although she was the Queen of England during the act , like it or not its the historic fact , its not very clear what happened to head and body during decades or centuries,
@ladylake2004 There was a series back in the 90's on BBC. They feature haunted castles. You can probably find it on the "Ghostwatching" channel here on Youtube. This one, I think, was from "The Haunted Castles of England." Definitely worth checking out.
Anne was an unpleasant person ,and particularly cruel and invidictive to Katherine and Mary, but she was no fool. She went to Henry a virgin; she was faithful; she was innocent.
@phtevlin I don't think she was unpleasant, I think she was just afraid. When people are scared they do things out of character. She was kind to the poor, and her servants all said she was a kind mistress... There is no proof that she was particularly cruel to Katherine. She did try with Mary. She was only human.
@phtevlin Not necessarily. Most of the accounts of Anne that say she was unpleasant and cruel were written after her death by her enemies at a time when it would of cost you your head to speak highly of her. Most of what happened to Katherine after her divorce was Henry's doing and Anne did try to reconcile with Mary but to no avail. Rather than unpleasant and cruel Anne was headstrong and independent which were seen as horrible qualities for a woman. That's where the rumors come from.
Henry didn't marry his next wife Jane Seymour within 24 hours of Annes death. He was engaged to her the next day but they married on May 30, 11 days after Annes death.
Anne had a choice to leave the courth with her daughter elizabeth, Henry promised her life but she refused only because she didn't want to make her daughter a bastard and she wanted her to keep her right to the throne. If Anne had just left with Elizabeth back then, we wouldn't have had the great queen, and the whole world history would be completely different now.
i always feel so sorry for Anne... i also feel sorry for Catherine Howard and Henry's other victims. They were a part of the age they lived in..as we all are. There is no choice what period and place a person is born in. I don't think a spirit needs bodily functions in order to us their senses. A spirit can see well enough and more than we can even. Also there is a psychic connection between the manner of death and the appearance of the spirit.
@EllieMarianna Really? Think about that statement. Would she really have captured the attention of a King with eight fingers??? Not to mention she would have been put off as a witch long before ever getting into Henry's bed. Those were clear lies written about her after her death by Catholics who never met her but wanted to destroy her reputation
@ilovesoulfood1993 LOL!!! Count how many fingers you have on both hands, and think about your statement... I myself, have four fingers on each hand, which when X2 equals 8. I also have two thumbs. I was in other words, saying she was perfectly normal. I know she wasn't deformed.
@EllieMarianna Lolz. Didn't catch that. Sorry I just get so worked up about people insulting her. Although she lived nearly 500 years ago I still think she deserves respect.
i love Anne boleyn
