Look back through the years he is different with every album. That's how so many different people can relate to him. It's actually really ingenious of David Marchand to remake Davey Havok over and over, if someone doesn't like DH on the present album they might like him in the next. Though the music should come before looks.
Davey may not be able so sing the way he use to in a lot of AFI's older music, but he still sounds GREAT! & his voice is still amazingly HOT especially in Blaqk Audio (Davey's side project) I'm still waiting for "Bright Black Heaven" to get released and I'm HOPING they hurry & work on another "AFI" album ;)
Dang, they really are getting old. Less energy, and they play lazier. Compared to older performances, this one is nothing. Oh well, they were REALLY good before. I just wish something would ignite that energy for this song they once had. I was too young to see them.. All the good (or were good) bands have passed by me really. My brothers were lucky. I was beginning to think Davey couldn't hit the high notes anymore after his surgery and all. I'm now assured to know he can. I love Crash Love(haha), but it's great to know we haven't lost the old songs.
Seriously, you emo kids need to learn that there is more to vocal quality than 1) Singing at a ridiculously high octave 2) Screaming your ass off. Davey sings in a lower OCTAVE when performing many of their high-ass older songs, but he is almost always singing in the same key. He is also using a much different technique to scream. The guy is a fucking singer, sue him for wanting to preserve his vocal chords. He seems to have more control and a more powerful vibrato on their newer work.
I REALLY HATE THE HAIR I LOVED THE HAIR BEFORE. They kinda suck on this one to and i love afi but what the hell. His vocals are really off and he keep's going out of key. But I still Love AFI. He keeps cracking
I would love to see all the new punk, emo, and post-hardcore bands sound this great live. Considering AFI really launched those bands. "Davey cracked!" @Jasperiswinning He didn't have surgery. He just rested his voice. You can hear his "old" screams on Head Like a Hole which was AFTER the surgery. He changed it by choice. Stop believing what you see on the Despair Faction.

Jade messes up the finger tapping solo at the beginning because he's missing the small notes that matter. check the 0:50 time. he does because at first he's too slow then he begins to go too fast. It's almost like it's impossible for him to keep time. The second time is great...but then davey's voice goes out on the second chorus.
If you love this song, you know how it should sound. This was a failed attempt to try. 1 mistake is too many while performing.

@faintingthroughlife Talk about completely incorrect dude; Miss Murder is a song done in a buncha barred chords. Power chords are normally dropped d all strings on the same fret, barred is a power chord with your top string two frets behind in standard tuning.
Check out Jade Puget teaching the song Miss Murder via video, he says "basically just barre chords".

Jade messes up the finger tapping solo at the beginning because he's missing the small notes that matter. check the 0:50 time. he does because at first he's too slow then he begins to go too fast. It's almost like it's impossible for him to keep time. The second time is great...but then davey's voice goes out on the second chorus.
If you love this song, you know how it should sound. This was a failed attempt to try. 1 mistake is too many while performing.

@chocalatysmurfs this isn't the most horrible performance. it's not all that bad considering music today. but from afi i naturally expect them to be better than most of the perfomers out now. ok so they tried hard. davey's voice is under strain. perhaps they should focus more on his mid range voice. i'm a musician as well so i understand the pressure. every day i practice screaming and singing. yes it's an art. but it has to be done perfectly or not at all.

Davey is still pulling off those screams perfectly! It seems to me that he's having a harder time getting the high notes though, but he is getting older so its understandable. Plus he has been doing this for well over a decade and he is still performing great shows. Now thats talent. Sonny Moore, what a joke!

@faintingthroughlife Talk about completely incorrect dude; Miss Murder is a song done in a buncha barred chords. Power chords are normally dropped d all strings on the same fret, barred is a power chord with your top string two frets behind in standard tuning.
Check out Jade Puget teaching the song Miss Murder via video, he says "basically just barre chords".
For someone claiming to know the band and all of their music you really are sadly misinformed....

And they use power chords non stop.
