The "old cradle" was great. but i think black metal is nice too. It's really different but i think dani is (was) the best vocalist. but i enjoy the true black too.
Not to be a pain, but you really need to check out Charles Hedger's page. He was highly influenced by Jason Becker and can shred like a motherfucker, so Cradle's guitar players don't suck. Listen to the Lag demo and his orchestral works.
I would say the guitars sucks in cradle of filth, beacause it was really better before, now the guitares sound is not so "Special". even people say "new cradle" is heavier than the black old one the guitares do not a beautiful sound (maybe it's hard to play but the result s still bad). même dans un groupe de grindcore je les verrai pas les pauvres.
I see what you're trying to say, and you're right to a certain extent. Newer Cradle is not as pretty sounding as the Dusk and Her Embrace album, but they still have some pretty sounding songs. "Nymphetamine" was pretty. Liv Kristine has a beautiful voice, and "Coffin Fodder" was kind of pretty.
I don't think new Cradle is heavier, really. "Midian" just rips your face off from the beginning and never lets up. I think that album is the heaviest, and also one of their best. I think losing Gian really hurt Cradle, because after "Bitter Suites to Succubi," the 3 albums that followed were kind of dissappointing. I'm not saying they're bad albums, but c'mon, does any Cradle fan like "Thornography" as much as "Vempire" or "Cruelty and the Beast."
I still disagree with you saying the guitarists are bad. Charles can play some wicked ass solos, not just hard to play, but beautiful, like his and my influence, Jason Becker, and as far as guitar players go, no one can touch Jason Becker, and no one probably ever will.

I have some black metal - a couple Dimmu Borgir discs and Covenant's "Nexus Polaris," which are great, but I think Cradle is a lot better.

This song have sounded more evil... well, back when they had shity guitars/basses, drums and keyboards and even micros and amps they sounded better, now they have top seller guitars and keyboards and etcs they lost the evil sound. They're great anyway... i hope 'harder, darker, faster' has that poetic lyrics which ones dani used to do well back in old albums such as dusk, principle, cradle to enslave, midian, bitter suites, cruelty etc... Dusk and Her Embrace is one of CoF's best songs but this video sucks. It seems really sped up and the instruments in a different tune. I can understand Dani's poor voice (Marduk's vocalist blew his chords out too). Also Shredfantom Nymphetamine was much worse than Thornography.

Amazing song, To bad Dani's voice aint what it used to be when he first recorded this song. I still cant get over how disapointing Thornography was. Its was Half lame, Not verry good, but at the same time not bad. It was just avrage. I would say that Cradle was at its best around 1996-1998
I heard that Dani had throat surgery. That's why his voice isn't as good as it once was. Thornography is their worst album. "Byronic Man" is horrid. "Temptation" is a horrible choice for a cover. "Under Huntress Moon" and "Tonight in Flames" are decent, but the album as a whole sounds very pop compared to older works.
His voice is going, it's not as good as it was. Although to be fair Cradle has been going for about 16 years. Apparantly the next album will sound like old school COF, although if his vocals are like this it may not be as good.

I have to say, Dani has aged a bit now. Think about it, he's been doing this since his earlier 20's, he's in his late 30's now.. He's a grown man.. Cradles music sounds a bit more mature now though.. With Dani's volcals being less well... volcal. Alot of people may have liked it, I did, but at some point it seemed like he over did it with the Banshee screams but it was and still is amazing to hear. But at this point, it's easy for just about anyone to like this band.

Wtf are you talking about? Adrian was still the main drummer when they're last album was made. This guy is the new drummer and he only joined the band shortly after the late 2006 tour started. And let me tell you, Marthus (the new drummer) covers this song waay better than Adrian ever could, why? because he's capable is executing blast beats more precisely than Adrian.
I'm not saying Adrian isn't an awesome drummer but the original drummer (Nicholas Barker) was THE best drummer this band ever had, after Adrian stepped in, while having his own drumming style, he was nowhere near as good as Barker was, and this is evident when you compare Pandamoneon to Havy left handed and candid. Nick nailed the beats easily in songs like "cruelty and the beast" and "dusk and her embrace" while Adrian had to play them slower and with less powerful sounding drumming.
Marthus actually covered "dusk and her embrace" faster than the original recorded tour with Nick. Bottom line, Cradle of filth has always experimented with different sounds and styles from gothic techno to classic sounding rock and symphonic heavy metal. They are an awesome band, they kick ass.. oh yeah and If you've noticed, Dani has grown over the years... His voice is more mature and deeper, his death grunts are deeper and more Solid sounding..
Adrain quit for his side projects and he recorded Thornogrphy Dani writes the music so complain to dani if you dont like the pace but you will get one of the founding princples of cradle in your face. That he wanted to create somthing that was alive and always changing

Cradle will allways hold a special place in my heart but if they make another album like Thornography i can't see myself buying it, oh well i got their older albums to keep me happy. Dusk is their best album and song.

yes i know satyricon and i know cryptopsy, too, but i prefer kataklysm. But i like so much bands, they are too much to mention.. I don't know what's neo metal. This song have sounded more evil... well, back when they had shity guitars/basses, drums and keyboards and even micros and amps they sounded better, now they have top seller guitars and keyboards and etcs they lost the evil sound. They're great anyway... i hope 'harder, darker, faster' has that poetic lyrics which ones dani used to do well back in old albums such as dusk, principle, cradle to enslave, midian, bitter suites, cruelty etc... CRADLE ROCKS! XD

Dusk and Her Embrace is one of CoF's best songs but this video sucks. It seems really sped up and the instruments in a different tune. I can understand Dani's poor voice (Marduk's vocalist blew his chords out too). Also Shredfantom Nymphetamine was much worse than Thornography.

Amazing song, To bad Dani's voice aint what it used to be when he first recorded this song. I still cant get over how disapointing Thornography was. Its was Half lame, Not verry good, but at the same time not bad. It was just avrage. I would say that Cradle was at its best around 1996-1998

I heard that Dani had throat surgery. That's why his voice isn't as good as it once was. Thornography is their worst album. "Byronic Man" is horrid. "Temptation" is a horrible choice for a cover. "Under Huntress Moon" and "Tonight in Flames" are decent, but the album as a whole sounds very pop compared to older works.

His voice is going, it's not as good as it was. Although to be fair Cradle has been going for about 16 years. Apparantly the next album will sound like old school COF, although if his vocals are like this it may not be as good.

I have to say, Dani has aged a bit now. Think about it, he's been doing this since his earlier 20's, he's in his late 30's now.. He's a grown man.. Cradles music sounds a bit more mature now though.. With Dani's volcals being less well... volcal. Alot of people may have liked it, I did, but at some point it seemed like he over did it with the Banshee screams but it was and still is amazing to hear. But at this point, it's easy for just about anyone to like this band.

Wtf are you talking about? Adrian was still the main drummer when they're last album was made. This guy is the new drummer and he only joined the band shortly after the late 2006 tour started. And let me tell you, Marthus (the new drummer) covers this song waay better than Adrian ever could, why? because he's capable is executing blast beats more precisely than Adrian.

I'm not saying Adrian isn't an awesome drummer but the original drummer (Nicholas Barker) was THE best drummer this band ever had, after Adrian stepped in, while having his own drumming style, he was nowhere near as good as Barker was, and this is evident when you compare Pandamoneon to Havy left handed and candid. Nick nailed the beats easily in songs like "cruelty and the beast" and "dusk and her embrace" while Adrian had to play them slower and with less powerful sounding drumming.

Marthus actually covered "dusk and her embrace" faster than the original recorded tour with Nick. Bottom line, Cradle of filth has always experimented with different sounds and styles from gothic techno to classic sounding rock and symphonic heavy metal. They are an awesome band, they kick ass.. oh yeah and If you've noticed, Dani has grown over the years... His voice is more mature and deeper, his death grunts are deeper and more Solid sounding..
